Trucking Along Tag Card – 30 Day Christmas Cardmaking Challenge

With the theme of Heading Home. for this creation for the #30DayCardmakingChallenge I went straight for my trucking along bundle. It just had that going home feel and my hardest decision was whether to put a Christmas tree or presents atop the truck.

#30DayChristmasCardmakingChallenge, 2023 DDay 26, Heading Home

My card design has been inspired by the White Christmas theme at TGIF Challenges #tgifc451. The addition of blue and Kraft was in-keeping with my snowy look I had on the card.

TGIF Challenges TGIFC451

I die cut a tag from the Kraft Note Cards and then added some Shimmery White Embossing Paste using the Abundant Beauty Decorative Masks. I love the texture that this gives and it creates a unique gift tag.

For the second tag. I tore a piece of paper and used it as a mask, blending Boho Blue and Starry Sky, graduating in darkness down the tag.

Finally, the truck was coloured with Stampin’ Blends. Now, if you don’t want to go through this process, you can use the two-step stamping method and stamp in the fill-in image to give you a quickly coloured truck.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this project and look forward to sharing my next project with you tomorrow. I’m heading home with this challenge and will be done before Christmas!

Christmas Cookies – 30 Day Christmas Cardmaking Challenge

Today’s card started off as 2 separate elements which I chose to combine for Day 25 of the #30DayChristmasCardmakingChallenge theme of Christmas Cookies.

Martin's Mayhem, 30 Day Christmas Cardmaking Challenge, 2023 Day 25

This gingerbread man is one of my favourites and he’s just such a happy chappy. I wanted the tag to have a vintage look so I watercoloured some Fluid 100 Cardstock to recreate this. Then I added some Gold heat embossing around some of the edges.

I die cut some leaves from the Christmas Pinecones dies in Early Espresso and Soft Sea Foam Cardstock and cut apart them to place around the gingerbread man and the sentiment.

For the background I used the Gorgeously Made stamp set and I blended Soft Sea Foam ink on Soft Sea Foam Cardstock to create a subtle variation in colour. Then I stamped the leaves in Old Olive ink. I added some liquid glue to the sections of leaves I wanted the embossing powder on. The Gold embossing powder was then poured over and heat embossed.

Our Last Chance sale continues until 3rd January and you can get the Sending Cheer stamps and dies while they are still available. This has been such a versatile set and I’ve used it so much for both cards and tags this year.

Gift of Giving- 30 Day Christmas Cardmaking Challenge

As I was going through all the cards I’ve been creating for the 30 Day Christmas Cardmakin Challenge, I realised I had missed sharing my Day 20 card with the theme of Festive Vibes.

I was a bit unsure what to create for this theme and then I attended a colouring class with Jay Soriano where I finished up with this fun Santa and I figured he was giving out some festive vibes!

I used a retired background stamp for the diagonal stripes. You can recreate this look with Cardstock strips which would add some lovely texture and use up leftovers!

The Gift of Giving stamp set has 3 lovely images which are great for colouring in. You can get it while supplies last as it’s on our Last Chance list.

Christmas Gifts Sketch – 30 Day Christmas Cardmaking Challenge

I thought I may struggle with this sketchfor the #30DayChristmasCardmakingChallenge However, with a little bit of thought I was able to recreate it using the presents from the Beary Cute stamp set.

The image was stamped in Night of Navy ink on Fluid 100 Cardstock then watercoloured with Tahitian Tide and Night of Navy ink refills and a Water Painter. I was so happy with how this turned out as it was something a little bit different.

Each of the images was fussy cut and then adhered onto the Delightful Floral Designer Series Paper. I die cut the sections of the tree from the Merriest Trees dies and then blended Parakeet Party ink onto it before curving the edges with a Bone Folder. With the Merriest Trees dies you can can create different sized trees using the layered dies.

I stamped and cut apart the sentiment from the Joy to You stamp set to work in with the sketch. This stamp set has some large sentiments which are perfect as focal points but can also be cut apart to create customised sentiments.

Cosy Christmas – 30 Day Christmas Cardmaking Challenge

The image that came to mind when I saw this Cosy Christmas theme was immediately this barn from the retired Christmas Barn stamp set. It shows warmth and is so inviting.

This card started with a piece of the striped Misty Moonlight DSP which I had layered on Basic White. Planning to use it on a project a while back, it didn’t suit but it worked with this one and I was able to add my pieces around it.

I used some Watercolour Pencils to colour areas of the barn so that the beautiful detail of the stamped image could be seen. For the wreath I used the Direct to Stamp colouring technique with Stampin’ Write Markers.

The barn image could be replaced with the Shop the Town stamp set #162068 which coordinates with the Les Shoppes dies #161777. This set is currently on our Last Chance list for $33.60 (was $42).

The trees from the same bundle were layered, so that it looks like they are around the property. I added some scrap Pecan Pie Cardstock pieces which look a bit like a fence and work well with the design. Of course, this card just had to have Linen Thread to make it complete.

I hope you have enjoyed my #nostalgicnovember with a delve into my archives. My blog posts will continue through December (with cards I’m creating this month for this challenge and others). I’ve got loads to share.
