#gdp197 An Aussie Christmas Card
My card today takes inspiration from the Global Design Project colour challenge of Seaside Spray, Terracotta Tile and Pear Pizzazz.
Continuing on with my Christmas in July cardmaking, I set about creating a Christmas card for this challenge. I picked the Animal Outing stamp which I hadn’t used as yet and decided to create an Aussie, Aussie, Aussie – Oi, Oi, Oi card. Being in such a multicultural community, many of us have so many relatives and friends overseas and an Aussie themed card would be perfect to send out at Christmas. This kangaroo and koala are just so cute. 
I started by stamping the kangaroo in Stazon ink and water colouring it in Terracotta Tile ink refill. The koala has been water coloured with the tiniest amount of Tuxedo Black ink to give it a grey colour.
I used the Birch background stamp in Seaside Spray to create a subtle background. This was stamped off once to achieve a lighter shade. Then I stamped the ‘wreath’ which is a simple circle from the Making Christmas Bright stamp set. The leaf from Winter Woods stamp set was used to stamp around to complete the wreath effect.
Using Seaside Spray ink, I randomly stamped the word ‘Merry’ over the punched circle. This really makes the kangaroo stand out.
For some sparkle – because it’s Christmas , I used the new Shimmer Black embossing powder on the stars and this goes well with the glitter on the Organdy ribbon.
