Stampin’ Dreams Blog Hop – Card/Project Kits

Hi friends,

Welcome to Stamping Flair. I am blog hopping with other Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from the Stampin’ Dreams Facebook Group.

Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop July Designer Series Paper

The theme this month is Card/Project Kits. Stampin’ Up! offers a variety of kits both in the Annual and Holiday catalogues. You can browse the entire range of kits here. Kits can be used as suggested or altered. With the stamp sets and accessories provided they can cross over to other projects as well which make them versatile.

My cards today use the Most Wonderful Time Product Medley from the Holiday catalogue. While a kit is centred around a specific project, a product medley gives the crafter a whole lot of products to create anything you like.

Most Wonderful Time Christmas card with Silver embossed Christmas tree and deer

Most Wonderful Time Product Medley includes:

* 11-piece photopolymer stamp set (clear blocks sold separately)
* 48 sheets of 6″ x 6″ (15.2 x 15.2 cm) Designer Series Paper, 8 each of 6 double-sided designs
* 12 gold foil card fronts, 4 each of 3 designs
* 6 sticker sheets, 2 sheets each of 3 designs
* Gold/white tinsel trim 9.1 m
* 58 adhesive-backed gold faceted stars
* 6-piece Most Wonderful Time Dies (use with a die-cutting & embossing machine)

This card uses the some of the products from this product medley to create a different colour palette with Seaside Spray and Silver. I masked the stamp with the image of presents, using a post-it-note and inked the bow up with Seaside Spray to create a border on the card base. The tree has been heat embossed in Silver and coloured with Seaside Spray Stampin’ Blends.

Most Wonderful Time Product Medley, Stampin' Up!, Christmas card in alternate colours

I used the Christmas Countdown stamp set for the stamped Whisper White layer. Then I added Night of Navy and Silver Foil strips together with the beautiful, sparkly organdy ribbon for the deer to sit on.

Handmade Christmas card with Tree and presents Red and Green

For my second card, I stayed with the colour palette of the product medley – Basic Black, Gold foil, Old Olive, Real Red and Whisper White. For the layers, I added different strips of Designer Series Paper and stamped the sentiment on one of the included stickers. The presents were fussy cut from a sheet of DSP. The pretty gold tinsel trim and star that adorns the top of the tree are also included in this medley. This is a value pack of products that you will be able to create so many Christmas projects and cards with.

Kre8tors Blog Hop – Brides and Babies

Hi stampers,

Welcome to Stamping Flair and a brand new week. So glad you could stop by my blog. I’m hopping with my friends from the Kre8tors Blog Hop group and we have projects focusing on Brides and Babies. Both such wonderful, happy occasions and what a great reason to make a card.

Kre8tors Blog Hop August Color Challenge

I’ve chosen the Bride theme and created a fancy fold congratulatory card for a wedding using the beautiful Pressed Petals Designer Series Paper. This paper has such a vintage look so I created a vintage feel, Front Flip card. This is a very quick fold to make and decorate. The card base is a single layer. The front flap is scored in half and the back part is adhered to the card base.

Front Flip Fancy Fold card, Pressed Petals Designer Series Paper

I really love the script paper in this pack and used it on the base. The flap part has another piece of DSP attached to the front and I stamped the inside with images from the For the Love of Felt stamp set. I like this stamp set for it’s simple, clean images and although designed for the coordinating, For the Love of Felt Project Kit, this set has some lovely images, especially for simple stamping.

Inside of Flip front card, Kre8tors Blog Hop, Fancy Fold card

The addition of the Delicate Lace die cut border and the Scalloped Lace Trim just add to the vintage feel of this card. The butterfly has been coloured with Stampin’ Blends and I’ve gone around the edges of it, as well as the circles and sentiment with a sponge dauber and Crumb Cake ink.

Measurements are listed at the bottom of this post.

Krea8tors August 2019 Blog Hop – Color Challenge Farms

Kre8tors Blog Hop August Color Challenge

Hi Friends,

So glad that you have stopped by today. I’m excited to be participating for the first time in the Kre8tors Blog Hop.  This month’s theme is The Hood River Fruit Loop. It’s a collection of farms in the Hood River Valley in Oregon, USA that offer fresh fruits, vegetables, flowers, and other items straight off the farm.

We had to select 3 of the 5 featured colours beneath this beautiful photo. I have chosen Early Espresso, Petal Pink and Cherry Cobbler. Kre8tors Blog Hop August 2019 Color Challenge Stampin' Up!

The Whisper White layer has been stamped in Early Espresso with the script from the Very Versailles stamp set. Then I added the flourish from Leave a Little Sparkle in Cherry Cobbler. 3 leaves were stamped on top with Early Espresso. To complete the background, I used the Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Write marker and created the splatter effect by flicking the brush side against the cap of the marker. This creates the subtle splatter look.

Next I drew 2 lines in pencil to indicate where I was going to cut through. The vertical line was 2.5 cm from left edge at top and 4.5 cm from left edge at bottom. The horizontal line was 11.5 cm from top on left side and 7.5 cm from top on right side.

I trimmed about 1/2 cm on either side of the pencil mark which forms the gap so the Early Espresso can show through.

I used the new Daisy Lane bundle and stamped and punched 3 daises, layering and curling the petals with a bone folder to create the flower.

Stampers Showcase Blog Hop – Let it Ride Masculine Card

Hello friends,

Welcome to my blog – Stamping Flair. Thank you for taking the time to visit me. Today I’m participating in the Stampers Showcase Blog Hop. This month we are featuring projects with a masculine theme. If you’re stuck for masculine makes, we’ve got you covered.

My masculine card features the Let it Ride stamp set which is suited for anyone but for this challenge it’s being a male stamp set!

Handmade card with horse, Masculine card with horse, Stampin' Up!

I started off by attaching a piece of Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper to an Old Olive card base. The benefit of double sided paper is one side could have beautiful flowers (just like this one has) and then the other is suitable for a masculine card. Next I added a matted layer of the Noble Peacock Specialty Designer Series Paper which adds a richness to this card to mark a celebratory occasion. The vertical lines in this DSP create a formal look which I think worked well for this masculine card.

Stampers Showcase Blog Hop, Horse handmade card

The horse has been stamped in Soft Suede and die cut with the Stitched Shapes dies. I then formed a loop with the ribbon which has been attached with Tear & Tape. A bow from the linen trim adds a touch of rustic to coordinate with the horse. The stamped circle was then mounted with Dimensionals and layered on Old Olive and Early Espresso circles. I completed the card with a sentiment stamped in Early Espresso.

Noble Peacock DSP with male card

Measurements:

  • Old Olive – 21 cm x 14.8 cm (scored in half), die cut circle and scrap for sentiment
  • Whisper White – 6.8 cm x 10 cm and die cut circle
  • Early Espresso die cut circle
  • Perennial Essence DSP – 9.9 cm x 14.2 cm
  • Noble Peacock Specialty DSP – 6.4 cm x 9.6 cm

I hope this inspires you with those sometimes-hard-to-make men’s cards. Please hop through the blogs and get more inspiration.  Next up is Ange Mc Kay. Click on the Next Blog button to see what she’s created for the guys.

Stampin’ Dreams Blog Hop – Favourite Designer Series Paper

Hello Friends,

Thank you for taking the time to stop by my blog today. Today I’m taking part in the Stampin’ Dreams Monthly Blog Hop.  It’s my first time participating and I’m really grateful for the opportunity. This month’s theme is Designer Series Paper.

Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop July Designer Series Paper

Stampin’ Up! has given us a beautiful range of paper to create with including 12″x12″ and 6″x6″ papers.  There are papers in all our Classic and In-Colour ranges plus all the beautiful patterned papers we have including specialty papers such as foil and vellum. See the entire range HERE.

Fancy fold cards are a great way to show case Designer Series Paper. I have chosen my favourite, Bird Ballad paper to work with today. With so many designs of birds, feathers, bird cages, flowers and images that are perfect for fussy cutting, this paper can be used in so many ways.

Create a Fanfare Fold card with Bird Ballad DSP

I have created a fun fold card to show off this pretty paper. This card was adapted from one which Lyssa Griffith Zwolanek had created and is called a Fanfare Fancy Fold. The original didn’t stand upright so I got rid of one layer to enable it to stand up. I then modified it to create this version. I love the simplicity of this fold yet it is fun and interactive with the concertina fold opening up to show the different layers.

Fun Fold card with feathers and birds

I used various sheets of this DSP. The card base displays the paper beautifully. The centre image of the birds has been fussy cut from one of the sheets.

Pigment Sprinkle leaves with Birds

To create the leaves, spritz a piece of Shimmery White cardstock with water and then sprinkle with the Granny Apple Green Pigment Sprinkles over it. The new pigment sprinkles are a fun product to work with, giving you completely different looks each time.

Leave this to completely dry. Then die cut the leaves using the Magnolia Memory Dies.

To add some extra dimension and depth to this panel, I stamped, coloured and fussy cut a few extra flowers and added the leaves. Both the flowers and leaves have been curled using a bone folder

Create an interactive handmade card with Stampin' Up! products

Finally, I stamped the sentiment and added a flower which has been fussy cut out of DSP to complete the card.

Bird Ballad card with feathers and Hello greeting
