Hello and welcome to the New at SU Blog Hop. This month we are CASEing a project from the Stampin’ Up! January-April Mini catalogue.
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO C.A.S.E.?
There are a couple of variations that I’ve heard. These being Copy And Share Everything or Copy And Selectively Edit. I’ve chosen a project on Page 68 from the Enjoy the Ride suite. I’ll be CASEing the layout of the card on the top right with the sentiment ‘Dad You’re the Coolest’.
You really don’t need Pinterest (ok, maybe you do sometimes!) when you’ve got a Stampin’ Up! catalogue in front of you. There is SO MUCH inspiration to be had. For instance, just in this one card, I could have chosen the colour palette, been inspired by an element such as the roses in the card or the background stamping, gone for a vintage look. Instead I went for my favourite, the sketch.
Here is a closer look at this card which I CASEd ….
……and I just went all girly with butterflies and flowers!
I replaced the stamped panel of bikes with 3 equal panels of Regency Park Designer Series Paper, matte onto 2 layers of Petal Pink Cardstock. A gingham label sits on top of Night of Navy ribbon in keeping with the original card.
A butterfly from the Butterfly Brilliance stamp set coloured with Stampin’ Blends is the focal point in lieu of a jacket. This beautiful stamp set along with the coordinating dies are on our Last Chance sale right now.
The roses from the original card were replaced with some fussy cut flowers and leaves. I also added some die cut leaves from Basic White Cardstock around the butterfly. These were blended with Mint Macaron ink, creating a soft look.

Hello and welcome to my little corner of the world in Melbourne, Australia. Great to have you here for our monthly, Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop. If you are stopping by from my friend Leonie Stuart’s blog, I’m sure you would have been inspired by her beautiful take on an Embossing Technique.
For my card, I started off with a heat embossed border using the Decorative Borders stamp set. Over the White embossing I blended Pear Pizzazz, Soft Succulent and Parakeet Party inks which created the embossing resist technique. I added a bit more blending in Coastal Cabana on the top part of the Stitched Rectangle panel.
Using the Stamparatus to position my Butterfly Brilliance stamp, I heat embossed the large butterfly in White. Then I coloured it in Balmy Blue, Granny Apple Green, Calypso Coral, Coastal Cabana and Bermuda Bay Watercolour Pencils. I used a Stampin’ Blend Color Lifted to blend sections of the colours.
On the card base I layered a piece of Vellum Basics and a layer of Basic White Cardstock embossed with the Hive Embossing Folder. Currently you can get this embossing folder free with a $90 order during Sale-A-Bration.
Inbetween the layers I also added some strips of Textured Shimmer Paper which adds a beautiful subtle textured look.
A wave die cut from Shimmer Vellum and some coordinating ribbon and Opal Dots complete my card with … a bit more embossing for the sentiment.
I hope you have enjoyed my embossing inspiration and give one of these techniques a try. Please get in touch with me if you have any questions. Don’t forget to follow our hop through for lots of beautiful creations and please leave us a comment as you stop by.
Next on our hop is the very talented Cheryll Miller.
