Monochromatic Garden Green – Winterly Tree Tops

Hello and welcome to this week’s Monochromatic inspiration with Garden Green. This would be one of my least used greens however with quite a few of our Designer Series Papers incorporating it, I’ve been using it more often. For my card today, I’m using the Winterly Tree Tops bundle which is part of the Nests of Winter suite in the upcoming September-December Mini Catalogue.

I’ve had this suite for a couple of months now as we got to order it early as part of a demonstrator event. I really love the images in this bundle and the coordinating Designer Series Paper is just beautiful. What really takes this suite over the edge is the trio of coloured Linen Thread in Copper Clay, Garden Green and Night of Navy.

I added some Smoky Slate to my colour palette, with a little bit of Crumb Cake and Pecan Pie to shade in the bird. The berries were coloured with a Garden Green Watercolour Pencil.

The strip of background shapes were die cut from the Nests of Winter and To Market Designer Series Paper and adhered to cardstock embossed with the Birch Wood Embossing Folder. I really like the white space with the pops of green which creates a simple elegance.

To complete the card I added a fussy cut heat embossed sentiment and some Garden Green Linen Thread and embellishments.

CASEing the Catty Challenge CTC481 – Page 25 Sketch

Hello friends, Welcome to our CASEing the Catty Challenge and this week we are CASEing this fun sketch which is on Page 25 of the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue.

I’ve created a Christmas card using the Golden Greenery bundle which is part of our Online Exclusives collection.

The suite this bundle is part of includes some beautiful Designer Series Paper which is in tones of green and I wanted to give this card a slightly softer look by changing the colours. Of course, I went with pink!

I created 2 square frames using the Stylish Shapes dies and added a piece of Graceful Greenery Vellum behind it. I love how the Vellum adds that softness while still being able to see the Bright and Beautiful Designer Series Paper behind it. From 6th – 31st August you can get this paper and several others on sale at 15% discount so make sure to hop back and check that out.

The outline of the bells were stamped in Petunia Pop, stamped off and the main image was stamped in Pretty in Pink, stamped off. I added detail onto the bells with Watercolour Pencils. I die cut some leaves from Basic White Cardstock and blended a range of colours to add some shading to them, trimming them down so they fit around they bells.

A trio of white flowers, coloured with Bubble Bath and Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Blends, layered together, created the flower which is on top of a bow which was also made from Bright & Beautiful DSP.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this alternate take with this bundle. Let me know what you think of it by leaving me a comment. I love hearing from you.

New at SU Blog Hop – Make it Metallic with Thoughtful Designs

New at SU 2024 Header

Hello, Welcome to the New at SU blog hop for July. This month our team are showcasing our beautiful metallic products. I’ll be sharing the Thoughtful Designs Specialty Designer Series Paper which is part of the Thoughtful Journey Suite. I also added some other metallic elements to my card from our varied range of products.

On the embossed White Cardstock I roughly applied some Copper Metallic Enamel Effects with a brush. Then I added a layer of the Specialty DSP at the bottom. This pack comes in the 2024-2026 In-Colors and are shaded in an ombre style so each sheet will have a variation in colour.

On top of these layers I added a coordinating piece of the Thoughtful Journey Designer Series Paper layered with Crumb Cake Cardstock.

Several pieces of foliage were die cut from Crumb Cake and Basic White Cardstock. For variation, I watercoloured some leaves in Wild Wheat in a very rustic fashion so that the white still showed through. On this I added some die cut Glimmer Flowers in Petunia Pop.

Some Copper Clay Linen Thread (coming in our September – December Mini Catalogue) and Metallic Enamel Effects Dots finish of this card.

Thank you for stopping by and checking out my creation. Stop by my Facebook Page at 10am AEST to see me create a variation on this card. I hope this inspires you to try out some of our Metallic and Specialty products.

Next on our hop is Sharon Dalton. Please follow our hop through for lots of beautiful metallic inspiration.

Monochromatic Crumb Cake – Birthday Sparkle

This week, for the Crafty Collaborations Monochromatic Insta Hop we are creating projects with Crumb Cake. Part of our Neutrals Collection, Crumb Cake is well used in my craft room. Coordinating with a range of colours, you can grunge it up or make it a bit vintage for alternate looks.

When it’s such an open theme, it’s hard to pick one stamp set to work with. I was inspired by the ‘cake’ in Crumb Cake and opted for a birthday card featuring the cake from the Attention Shoppers bundle.

I then opened the Birthday Sparkle Kit which I’d had for a while and thought some of those elements would work really well for my celebratory card. The tag includes some beautiful gold embossing which added a lovely background for my chocolate cake which was coloured with Stampin’ Blends.

The balloon images were from the stamp set in the kit and were stamped in Crumb Cake on one of the included pieces of patterned paper. In this kit you get some die cut balloons and I used the negative to blend Crumb Cake ink over the stamped image, fussy cutting around the image that formed.

The sentiment was stamped in Early Espresso on a piece of White Cardstock blended with Light and Dark Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends.

Thank you for stopping by my blog here in Melbourne and I hope this inspires you to try out our kits and find something that suits your style of crafting.

New at SU Blog Hop – Sketch Challenge with Flower Cart Stamp Set

New at SU 2024 Header

Hello and welcome to the New at SU blog hop for June. Our team is sharing inspiration using the sketches from Page 22 of the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue. Have you seen these sketches? A new addition to our catalogue, there’s 22 sketches to inspire your creativity and each one can be interpreted in so many ways.

I’ve chosen this sketch to work with today using the Flower Cart stamp set and coordinating dies.

It’s a chilly winter’s day here in Melbourne and my card is far removed from the reality of the weather with a beautiful spring feel to it. The stamps and dies have several elements which you can use to crreate all variations of the flower cart – both stamped and pieced together with die cuts. I went for a mix, stamping the tray in Basic Beige and distressing the edges with some Crumb Cake ink. Then I added the die cut awning over it.

The wheels and the stand of the cart were die cut from Basic White Cardstock. I blended Crumb Cake ink over the images and stamped the tree ring image from the Textured Timber stamp set over it in Pecan Pie ink to create the wood texture.

I added colour to the stamp directly with a sponge dauber for the different coloured flowers. Then I added some extra shading with a Watercolour Pencil to fill in the white space around the leaves.

The 2 narrow strips on the sketch were swapped out with the flower cart and some die cuts from the Perennial Postage dies. I stamped the pebbled path onto the ribbon for an extra detail to complete that little corner, along with a sign hand written using a White Gel Pen.

I hope this inspires you to use these sketches as you create. Please follow our hop through for lots of inspiration using several of these sketches.
