Peace to you – 30 Day Christmas Cardmaking Challenge

I love trying out non-traditional colour palettes for Christmas and this one set out by Martin Stone for #30DayChristmasCardmakingChallenge was one I really enjoyed.

Continuing with my theme of Nostalgic November (I’m caught in a time warp for just a little while until I share all the cards for this challenge) I chose the retired Peace to You stamp set. This image brings lots of memories for me of Christmas morning as our family went together to church to celebrate Christ’s birth.

I inked up the image in Wild Wheat and then blended in some Calypso Coral along the top. The Stamparatus (another retired product) was really handy to enable me to get this image well inked up. The combination of these 2 colours give a lovely gold hue to the image.

An embossed panel of striped Basic White was added for some texture in the back. A die cut star and layers of Cardstock in the challenge colours added some depth to this card which was rather quick to put together.

Elfed Up – 30 Day Christmas Cardmaking Challenge

Before I share with you my card for the #30DayChristmasCardmakingChallenge, I just want to remind you that today is the last day for my ordering special. Place an order of $150 or more by tonight and you will get a pack of embellishments as a gift from me. It’s a great time to shop with our Last Chance sale and many items being discounted.

For my card today, I have used all new products as the Jolly Words stamp set was the only Elf stamp I had.

I went with a CAS (Clean and Simple) card and really liked how the white space made these cute elves just stand out.

The images were coloured with a combination of Watercolour Pencils and Stampin’ Blends. I fussy cut the sentiment which had been heat embossed and this added some lovely dimension.

This stamp set is on our Last Chance sale and if it’s one you like, then make sure you add it to your Shopping Cart as Last Chance products are only available while supplies last.

Cup of Christmas – 30 Day Christmas Cardmaking Challenge

#30DayChristmasCardmakingChallege, 2023, Day 12 Far too Merry, Cup of Christmas Stamp set

This card was so much fun to create for the #30DayChristmasCardmakingChallenge . I don’t know what my favourite part was – the cloud cream, the timber cinnamon quills, dusting of hot chocolate or just the warmth and cosy feeling this card exudes.

#30DayChristmasCardmakingChallege, 2023, Day 12 Far too Merry, Cup of Christmas Stamp set, Christmas Card with cocoa mugs, Foursquare Decorative Masks

I used the Cup of Christmas stamps and dies which is a retired set however the Gift of Giving stamp set would be a suitable alternative to create a similar look.

For the cinnamon quills, I die cut the candy cane from Pecan Pie Cardstock 3 times, embossed each panel with the Timber Embossing Folder and layered the candy canes together. Then I added some depth with Early Espresso ink.

#30DayChristmasCardmakingChallege, 2023, Day 12 Far too Merry, Cup of Christmas Stamp set, Christmas Card with cocoa mugs, Foursquare Decorative Masks

The cloud punch is the perfect shape for some frothy cream and I added some chocolate dusting with the dots from the Perched in a Tree stamp set. I stamped and dabbed (my technical term!) the stamp to creat a bit of a mottled look across the cream.

Have a great weekend. I hope you can join me at the Great International Craft Show Online Classroom at 2pm and 3:30 pm tomorrow for some more Christmas crafting inspiration.

New at SU Blog Hop – Gift Card Holder with Sending Cheer Bundle

Hello and welcome to our New at SU Blog Hop. This month we are aiming to make your life a bit easier with some packaging for Gift Cards and Gift Certificates because we know how busy these next few weeks are going to be.

New at SU Header 2023-2024

I’m using the Sending Cheer bundle which is a really fun bundle to create gift tags. For today’s gift card holder I’m pairing it with the Winter Meadow Designer Series Paper.

The original design for this holder was inspired by one I’d seen by Marie Shaughnessy. I CASEd (Copy and Selectively Edit) the design and adapted with the products I am using. No need to re-invent the wheel when someone has done the hard work already and created such a fun project! I just converted the imperial measurements to metric and here they both are.

MEASUREMENTS
  • Lost Lagoon 10.0 cm x 28.0 cm (4″ x 11″)
  • Soft Sea Foam 11.0 cm x 8.0 cm (4 1/4″ x 3″)
INSTRUCTIONS
  • Score Lost Lagoon Cardstock on the long side at 10.0 cm, 14.0 cm and 18.0 cm (4″, 5 1/2″, 7″)
  • Fold as follows – Valley, Mountain, Valley
  • Adhere DSP to the back inside panel
  • Adhere the 2 bases of the Mountain fold together and fold flap towards the inside
  • Add glue or Tear & Tape to the sides of the flap and adhere to the back (this will form your pocket)
  • For the box lid – Score Soft Sea Foam Cardstock on the short side at 4.0 cm (1 1/2″)
  • Adhere the inside back of the lid to the upper back of the present base
  • Add DSP and embellish

I die cut the bow from More Dazzle Glimmer Paper and Moody Mauve Cardstock using the gift die in the Sending Cheer dies. This was then layered and attached under the Designer Series Paper.

Please leave me a comment and let me know whether you’ll be giving this little gift card holder a try and check out all our other talented team members for their fun ideas to wrap up the holiday season!

Cookie Cutter Christmas – 30 Day Christmas Cardmaking Challenge

I’m having a load of fun with the #30DayChristmasCardmakingChallenge and #nostalgicnovember and really enjoying stretching my creative thinking. This sketch was a bit tricky at first but I just had to get those circles out of my head before the ideas started coming through.

I flipped the sketch to be horizontal and it worked for the design I was going for. I used the gift die from the Sending Cheer bundle for the sides. The label from the Merriest Trees dies was lined with the Dark Pool Party Stampin’ Blend to create the stripes. I did this free hand and liked the fun look it gave to the main image which is from the retired Cookie Cutter Christmas stamp set.

I added a heat embossed sentiment in silver and some sparkly gems for the snowy look. The large snowflake is a retired embellishment which I had in my stash and it just fits perfectly with this card don’t you think?
