For Colour Palette #22 I have created a Christmas card with the So Very Merry stamp set. This stamp set, which earlier sold out very quickly, is back in stock and I’m so glad as I really love the unusual stained glass look of it.
The small bird was watercoloured to resemble a robin using Ink Refills and a Water Painter. This was then fussy cut. Although a small element, I created a focal image from it by layering it on 2 die cut circles.
On the larger circle I blended Cajun Craze ink over the Foursquare dies. This was layered onto White cardstock embossed with the Timber Embossing Folder.
The Real Red Festive Pearls were coloured with the Dark Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blend to coordinate with my bird.
I’ve followed the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches #FMS601 and chosen Timber and Twine as the 2 elements from the Just Add Ink Just Chosse Two challenge.
I hope you have been inspired by this card and consider adding the So Very Merry stamp set to your next order. When you place an order of $90 with me during September you will receive 2 tutorial bundles with a total of 70 tutorials. That’s lots of inspiration and ideas for you to try.

Today I’m combining some of my favourite Online Exclusive products to create this card inspired by the sketch at Global Design Project Challenge #406. I love the simple style of this sketch which can be interpreted in so many ways.
I’ve used the Trucking Along bundle along with the One Horse Open Sleigh Designer Series Paper for a cute Christmas card. The scenic paper really needs very little (if any) added. You could just put a sentiment and the paper will carry the project.
I used the Radiating Stitches dies (oh that’s another one of our Online Exclusive products) to die cut the scene and then added the truck laden with presents on top. An extra layer of embossed Early Espresso Cardstock breaks up the blues and adds a contrast, picking up the trees in the foreground.
The snow was die cut from a piece of embossed White cardstock which I had laying around and I thought it added lovely texture. The Basic 3D Embossing Folders come in a pack of 3 different designs, one of which was used here.
I hope you have enjoyed this project and please check out your favourite products in the Online Exclusive products which are available while supplies last.

Over the past few days I had the pleasure of presenting at the Great International Craft Show Series 17 – GICS17 for short. This is an online crafting event which encompasses all types of craft and the Live event is free to attend. I conducted a class a day which was loads of fun. There was a Christmas theme and I had just received my One Horse Open Sleigh suite so it was just ideal for this event.
This suite is part of our Online Exclusives products and the entire range can be viewed in our Online Store. We’ve got lots of stamps, dies, papers, embellishments and kits to suit everyone. I’ve had some fun creating with this particular suite and I particularly love the horse & sleigh image. It’s just reminiscent of images you see in storybooks and Christmas cards.
Although this image is great for colouring, I set out to create a card for those who may not like colouring so much. With some paper piecing the sleigh just came to life. Paper Piecing is such a simple and effective technique pretty much taking us back to Primary School days of cutting and pasting.
Watch the video below to see how I created this card, sharing some tips to help you along the way.

For Colour Palette #16 with Cherry Cobbler part of it I thought it was time for some Christmas in July cardmaking. Have you started on your Christmas cards already? Getting an early start is always good so you beat the rush.
I’ve used the Cottage Wreath stamp set and Country Wreaths dies to create a bit of a rustic look on this card.
I’m following the sketch at Freshly Make Sketches #593. I added some Basic Gray stripes using the Inked & Tiled stamp set to resemble the horizontal strip of the sketch. This has a wood texture which coordinated with the embossed background.
I added a panel of Petal Pink Cardstock blended with Petal Pink ink under the die cut Basic White panel, This gave it a bit of warmth and contrast against the embossed Petal Pink layer.
For a pop of colour, I coloured around the Early Espresso hearts with a Dark Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blend. Some Cherry Cobbler leaves die cut from the Christmas Pinecone dies were cut apart to fit inbetween. Then a few silver leaves, trim and pearls were added to balance out with the gray.
Want some more Christmas cardmaking inspiration? Join me for my Christmas in July card class which will be held on the 22nd of July. There is an in-person option as well as a mail-out kit option.
In the absence of anything related to Letters to Santa in my current stash, I’ve had to pull out my retired Signs of Santa stamp set to create this card for the #30DayChristmasCardMakingChallenge. Do you use your retired sets much? I have quite a stash although I do sell quite a bit. There are certain stamp sets that I keep – for occasions such as this!
You could substitute this Santa with the Santa’s Delivery Bundle. The dies from this bundle are reduced during our Last Chance sale.
I fussy cut around the Santa image then I die cut 3 layers of the Santa from Basic Black Cardstock, layering all 3 and the stamped image on top. I like this shadow effect and it also makes the image more stable.
I coloured in the Santa with Sweet Sorbet Stampin’ Blends and his belt with a store bought Gold gel pen. The background candy cane stripe Designer Series Paper gives this an extra fun touch. This paper is on sale and I’ve ordered an extra pack because I love it so much. Have you stocked up on your favourites?
