When you saw the title of this blog hop did you start singing? I just can’t get that one line out of my head – and it’s only one note!!

I’m hopping with other talented demonstrators from the Stampers Showcase Blog Hop group and it’s all about that word, L-O-V-E. That’s another song to get you singing. Valentine’s Day is only a couple of weeks away so we hope to inspire you with projects that you can make to give your loved one. Make sure you go through all the blogs to see the creativity that is shared by all the lovely ladies.
I have used the Parisian Beauty bundle to create my card and it’s the first card I’ve made with this bundle. Paris is known to be the City of Love so that was my inspiration.

I started off by creating a watercolour wash using Seaside Spray, Smoky Slate and Rococo Rose ink refills on shimmery White cardstock.

The flourishes were die cut with Whisper White cardstock and then I used a sponge dauber to add Rococo Rose to it. I chose not to use Rococo Rose cardstock as I wanted a softer look.

The sentiment has been layered on a panel of Whisper White cardstock stamped with the script stamp in this set and then run through with the beautiful Parisian Flourish 3D Embossing Folder. To add more depth, I then added Rococo Rose to the raised parts using my sponge dauber.
I stamped the bird and hearts from the Music from the Heart stamp set which is my favourite stamp set in this catalogue. The silver hearts are Epoxy Heart Droplets which I covered with Versamark, then Silver Embosssing Powder and heat embossed.

The Magnolia Lane Suite is such a pretty suite which has so many coordinating products to make your crafting experience easy. It comprises of a stamp set with several sentiments and images including the huge magnolia. There are dies to cut out these images and also some that cut out images from the coordinating Designer Series Paper. Ribbon, twine, Stampin’ Blends also make up this suite.

My card uses the Large Specialty Memories & More Cards & Envelopes and the Memories & More Card Park which simplifies cardmaking even more. The cards and envelopes have a silver detailing on them and the envelope liners are printed with Mossy Meadow leaves.
I have chosen a Flirty Flamingo card base and coloured my flower with Flirty Flamingo and Petal Pink Stampin’ Blends. I wanted to slightly veer from the colour palette of the suite which is Basic Black, Early Espresso, Mossy Meadow, Petal Pink, So Saffron and Whisper White. The printed vellum comes in the Memories & More Card Pack. Mounting the vellum onto the Flirty Flamingo changes it’s look.

I hadn’t realized how large that flower was until I got the bundle in my hands. It’s a large flower and so pretty. The best part is – there is a die to cut it out.
Did you Know?
All stamps are shown at actual size in Stampin’ Up! catalogues (unless otherwise stated). This makes it very easy to order the sentiments and images you want as you know exactly what you are going to get.
I added a smaller Memories & More card with a tiny leaf pattern on it and mounted the flower on top with Stampin’ Dimensionals to give it depth.
To make the sentiment stand out, I heat embossed the ‘Congratulations’ in White Embossing powder on Early Espresso cardstock. This created a nice contrast against the busy background.

A new feature in the Annual Catalogue this year is the addition of a simplified one item number ordering system. So when you want to order the entire Magnolia Lane suite, you just need to enter item no. 152178 and it will order all 9 products for you. How easy is that?
This month is Bonus Days so for every $90 you spend you get a $9 voucher to spend in August. Great time to stock up on essentials as well as some of your wish list items.

This card was made for an order from a work friend who requested a card for her daughter’s engagement. I have been in a bit of a slump lately. The All My Love Suite was just perfect to create this engagement card to inspire me and give me a starting point with colours. As it was an Engagement card I wanted to create a larger card so I folded a sheet of Blushing Bride cardstock in half to create the A5 card base.

I die cut the edgelit on Whisper White cardstock which still left it attached to the cardstock but gave those nice cut outs from the flowers. I stamped the leaves in Soft Sea Foam on top of this piece to give a fuller look. On another piece of Whisper White cardstock the flowers and leaves were stamped. Then this panel of cardstock was adhered behind the die cut panel so the colours showed through. This immediately added the colour.
The extra flower on top was inked in Blushing Bride first. Then using a sponge dauber I added some Lovely Lipstick ink around the edges to give the two-tone effect. For the leaves I used this same method with Soft Sea Foam and Shaded Spruce ink on Soft Sea Foam cardstock. There are matching dies to cut out the flower and leaves and this made it easy to create and add more dimension to that die cut panel.

The sentiment is from the Flourishing Phrases stamp set. In this set you get 2 sets of stamps and the sentiment fit so many occasions. I especially like the font used which is used in this set. The Epoxy Heart Droplets come clear and you get 72 hearts in 3 different sizes. I coloured these in with the Dark Lovely Lipstick Stampin’ Blend. I did 3 coats of colour, leaving a bit of drying time between each. The Lovely Lipstick hearts were the perfect finishing touch for my card.
My friend loved the card and that made me so happy because I love sharing my passion of card making and seeing the joy it brings the recipient.

This is a card I made for a friend who got engaged a few weeks back. She was on holiday at an exotic beachside location and her fiancé proposed to her. So that’s where the inspiration for this card has come from.
I wanted to capture the blues of the ocean and make it a bit of a summer look yet, with an elegance to it. Coastal Cabana fit the colour brief for this card. How much more beachy can you get than a colour that has ‘Coastal’ in it’s name?
The first stamp I pulled out was the Marbled stamp as it reminded me of waves. This was stamped in Coastal Cabana.

Heat Embossing
My next step was to create an elegant layer to make this card fit for an engagement. By itself, the Delightfully Detailed Laser Cut Paper is stunning but I wanted to add an extra bit of glammer to it.
Heat embossing it with silver embossing powder just added that extra touch the card needed. This is quite simple to do. Just apply your Versamark ink pad direct to the laser cut paper. A pair of tweezers do come in handy to hold it while heating it. I did this a couple of times to make sure every part of the paper was covered in the silver embossing powder.
The gluing of this delicate paper can be a bit tricky. I have cut a sponge in half and stored it in a take away container especially for this purpose. Apply liquid glue on the rounded section and hold the sponge on the other end to apply glue to this. You could also use a bulldog clip to hold onto the sponge while you apply the glue. Applying glue in this way is so quick and easy as you cover a lot of area in little time and I know we all love to save time.
After this, it was a matter of creating the different layers. The banner was embossed with the Scattered Sequins embossing folder, with the sequins being another subtle hint of a celebration.

The rest of the sentiment elements are from the Stitched All Around bundle. The sentiment has been heat embossed in silver as well. I think this has got to be the bundle I have used the most from the Annual catalogue. It can be used in so many ways. The dies can be coordinated with other stamp sets too. How cute is the little heart? Very easy to miss among the other dies but it’s so pretty with the stitching around it and was the perfect embellishment to complete this card.
I used the little border stamp to decorate the inside of the card and the envelope to create a coordinated look.
