I hope you are having a wonderful Sunday and if you are in Australia you are likely to be enjoying some family time. I hope the special men in your family enjoy a very happy Father’s Day.
The vintage truck from the Trucking Along stamp set was perfect against this background. To colour it, I used a technique which I learned during one of our demonstrator events a couple of months ago where we were shown how to create the look of a rusty old ute.
CREATING THE TRUCK
Stamp truck in Saddle Brown Stazon ink on Fluid 100 Paper
Using a Water Painter add Wild Wheat ink in sections
Once dry, add Pecan Pie
Once dry, add Tahitian Tide
Pooling the water in sections will make the colours run creating the look of rust. However don’t over do it as you don’t want the colours to become muddy. I used my heat gun to speed up the drying process between colour applications.
The background created with the Rays of Light stamp set was inked with Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie. When using a large background stamp, place the stamp face up and ink it then take the paper down to it. Press firmly and rub over it to ensure the ink transfers fully.
To take away the starkness of the white background I lightly blended Pumpkin Pie ink around the rays using a Blending Brush.
Some fussy cut clouds were added to create this mini scene. The rust look was carried through to the banners which were die cut from the Earthen Elegance Designer Series Paper.

Blessed Sunday to you! Continuing with my ‘Dads’ theme which I’ve been focusing on my Facebook Page this week, I’ve got an outdoor themed card for the Dad who loves camping. The Campology stamp set is a favourite of mine for masculine cards.
I’m playing along with Caseing the Catty Sunday Challenge where we are casing a Christmas Tree project from the July – December 2022 Mini Catalogue, the 2022-2023 Annual Catalogue or the Sale-a-bration Catalogue. I’m CASEing this card from Page 14 of the Jul-Dec Mini Catalogue which uses the Regal Reindeer Bundle.
I flipped the card horizontal and used the Tailor Made Tags Dies to blend ink to resemble the project I was CASEing. Blending Parakeet Party and Evening Evergreen with a Blending Brush, I then stamped the trees in Evening Evergreen. I added some embossing pasge to resemble the snow which was in the original card. The Embossing paste picked up the green which was blended under and you can see the stamped trees under the light layer of embossing which adds to the rustic feel of this card.
The kettle and cup images were stamped in Soft Suede and coloured with Stampin’ Blends. I stamped the handles twice and fussy cut to attach behind the main image. A strip of the Sale-A-Bration Silver & Gold Foil DSP was added behind the tag in line with the sketch I was CASEing.
At this stage I really wanted to add a bit ‘extra’ and couldn’t go past those leaves from the Stylish Sketches stamp set. This has got to be my favourite Sale-A-Bration product as I just love the images in it. You can get this set FREE with a $90 order.

I’ve heard a lot of card makers say that masculine cards are hard to make. With the Classic Garage suite, I promise you this will not be an issue. Images of a car, tool box, oil can, even an oil spill make up the stamp set. The dies not only coordinate with the stamps but they also coordinate with the Classic Garage Designer Series Paper. A bright colour palette with some toned down papers in Basic Gray and Black make this perfect for masculine makes.
The Designer Paper has steering wheels, speedometers, tools, cars and a bike. To make today’s card I fussy cut the motorbike.
I layered this bike onto another panel of the Designer Paper. I particularly like this sheet of paper with the background of the map – the mix of colours gives you so many options of colours to work with. It kind of reminds me of the old Melways before the days of Google Maps. Who still owns one of them?
The banner has been created with the Tailored Tag punch and uses another piece of Designer Paper. There is a good choice of plain sheets and patterned sheets to enable you to mix and match on a card. With layers creating interest, this card is very quick to assemble. I’m sure any dad would love to receive this.
Create a handmade card for Dad or use these cards for other occasions.
