Caseing the Catty Challenge CTC566 – Colours of Nature Walk DSP

Welcome to the Caseing the Catty Challenge and for this week’s Challenge CTC566 we are Caseing the colours of the Nature Walk DSP. While this is a very popular suite, I purchased none of the products! I know, what a shock. I had to make some difficult and careful choices and this got culled from list!

To CASE is to Copy and Selectively Edit a project and for this challenge we are Caseing colours. So, I chose to recreate one of the sheets of DSP which took my fancy.

Using the everyday kitchen supply, Cling Wrap and some ink, I had fun ink smooshing the background for my on Fluid 100 Cardstock with the following colours.

• Old Olive
• Cloud Cover
• Lost Lagoon
• Pretty Peacock
• Garden Green
• Secret Sea

Then I added some splatters with White Craft ink using a Water Painter.

This background just was perfect for the deck chair from the Relaxed Waterside Bundle. I coloured this with Stampin’ Blends, adding some stamped grass to the side of it. The shorter grass was stamped on some leftover ink smoosed background.

The design just worked really well to create a slimline card with a border of Secret Sea Designer Series Paper adding extra interest.

The book was coloured with a combination of Stampin’ Blends and Watercolour pencils to give it an aged look. Adding it to the arm of the chair gives this scene a really relaxed feel. This card would be suitable for Dad’s birthday or Father’s Day, Just Because or to write a note of Thanks.
