Caseing the Catty Challenge CTC587 – September Online Exclusives

Welcome to the Caseing the Catty Challenge CTC587 and this week we are Caseing a project from the September Online Exclusives. There are so many beautiful products in the new release including one of my favourites – the Alpine Winter Suite.

To CASE is to Copy and Selectively Edit a project. This can be a direct copy or you can put your own spin on it. With several samples and ideas available, Caseing is fun and gives us a way to make a project our own.

I have CASEd this card which showcases the Hitting the Slopes stamp set. There are so many aspects of this card that I love and am inspired by.

For today’s creation I have taken inspiration from the colour palette, swapping out the Smoky Slate for Crumb Cake.

I changed up the festive theme – which is pretty much all I’ve been creating lately – and went back to an old favourite, the Gears & Textures Bundle.

Using a combination of Designer Series Papers, stamped images and die cuts, I managed to add all the colours from the sample card onto my card. I even added some of the Stitched Season Designer Series Paper onto it for a pop of Red.

A stamped, collage background added a nice feature behind all the gears and other die cut elements. I’ve also added some colouring in with the Real Red Watercolour Pencil for a softer look, blending it out with a Blender Pen. Some Copper Hot Foiling adds another textural element.

I love how all these elements came together to create this textured masculine card and hope you have been inspired by it.
