Sending Caring Thoughts – Elegant Leaves in Pink
I’ve only had the Elegant Leaves bundle for one week but my word, I’ve used it a whole heap. It is stunning. With a mix of different sized leaves it works as focal points on it’s own or combined with other sets you have. For this card, I’ve taken this Autumn style set and given it a more spring look by adding the Rochelle touch (pink)!

My card has been inspired by the Global Design Project challenge GDP568. I’ve CASEd the sketch of this card by Krista Frattin.
When creating clusters of foliage, it’s always good to stamp and die cut several so you can play with your arrangement and get the best look. To make it easy, I stuck with only one Designer Series Paper – Mixed Up Patterns. This kept my focus and simplified the creative process.
Adding Texture
On this card, I’ve added texture in a variety of ways to create visual interest and a lovely tactile element.
- Embossing folders: This is my number one way to add texture to a card. It’s so easy to do and makes such a difference to the finished design.
- Hot foiling: Adds a touch of shine and a smooth, almost polished feel that contrasts beautifully with other textures.
- Velveteen Specialty Paper: Adding a few die-cut leaves from this paper brings a lovely softness and add hot foiling on top – double the WOW!
- Two-Tone Cardstock: Adds subtle variation and depth without introducing another colour to your design.
