For Colour Palette #22 I have created a Christmas card with the So Very Merry stamp set. This stamp set, which earlier sold out very quickly, is back in stock and I’m so glad as I really love the unusual stained glass look of it.
The small bird was watercoloured to resemble a robin using Ink Refills and a Water Painter. This was then fussy cut. Although a small element, I created a focal image from it by layering it on 2 die cut circles.
On the larger circle I blended Cajun Craze ink over the Foursquare dies. This was layered onto White cardstock embossed with the Timber Embossing Folder.
The Real Red Festive Pearls were coloured with the Dark Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blend to coordinate with my bird.
I’ve followed the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches #FMS601 and chosen Timber and Twine as the 2 elements from the Just Add Ink Just Chosse Two challenge.
I hope you have been inspired by this card and consider adding the So Very Merry stamp set to your next order. When you place an order of $90 with me during September you will receive 2 tutorial bundles with a total of 70 tutorials. That’s lots of inspiration and ideas for you to try.

When I saw that the Global Design Project #gdp403 theme this week was ‘Stripes’ I really wanted to play along with it. You can draw stripes, paint watercolour stripes, use patterned paper, make use of paper scraps and create a striped pattern, criss cross those stripes for checks… you get it – the possibilities are many.
My first thought was to use the striped paper which is available our Classic and In-Color 6″x6″ paper packs. I pulled out several colours, used none and just ended up with a big pile of stuff on my desk. I picked the lovely checked sheet from the Inked Botanicals DSP which is made up of stripes and layered it onto and embossed striped Basic White panel.
With Father’s Day in just 6 weeks I though I would combine all 3 of these challenges and chose the Trucking Along bundle to meet the TGIF Challenges #tgifc430 brief of travel. I then followed along with the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches #FMS595 which made designing the card much easier.
The truck body was coloured in Lost Lagoon, Pool Party and Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Blends. I added a tree ring in keeping with the outdoor theme I was trying to create for this Father’s Day card. I have several of these tree rings die cut and ready to be put on projects. These are kept in the folder which the dies come in and then when I need one, all I need to do is just add some colour. So for this tree ring I blended Wild Wheat, Pecan Pie and Copper Clay ink with a Blending Brush.
I added some leaves die cut again from Basic White Cardstock. These were blended with Mossy Meaadow and Copper Clay ink to give a variegated look.
I heat embossed the sentiment in Night of Navy/Clear Embossing Powder on the Fresh as a Daisy Designer Series Paper. Using your Clear Embossing Powder you can match any project with all the colours in our range.
HOW TO HEAT EMBOSS IN COLOUR
Ink up the stamp in Versamark
Immediately ink it up in desired ink colour
Stamp onto Cardstock/Designer Series Paper

Set with Heat Tool

The Nested Friends stamp set didn’t have my heart at first glance. However, I liked the variety of sentiments in the set and ended up ordering it. I can tell you, I have got my money’s worth out of this set, especially with this bird, using it so many times.
I created a background for my card with Versamark ink which was heat embossed with Clear Embossing Powder. Then I blended Misty Moonlight ink around the edges. Adding this to a card base which I applied the same technique of blending created depth for this tone on tone background.
My card was been inspired by the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches. To form the strips I used the Delightfully Eclectic Designer Series Paper. This is a great sketch to use up those scrap pieces of patterned paper or cardstock I know you have lying around.
This pack of 12″ x 12″ papers is a bumper pack with 48 sheets in it. Usually selling for $53, during our June Designer Series Paper sale you can get it for $45.05.
The bird was stamped in Daffodil Delight and I added some detail with Watercolor Pencils. I used Daffodil Delight, Cajun Craze, Balmy Blue and Early Espresso.
The berries and leaves were die cut from Basic White Cardstock and coloured with Stampin’ Blends. Some extra shading was added with an Old Olive Watercolor Pencil. The smaller Soft Sea Foam die cut leaves were also individually highlighted the same way.
A small sentiment was added to flow in with the arrangement of sprigs whilst not detracting from the pretty paper.

On my desk, I have a pile of scraps from projects. These are not cardstock or paper scraps. It’s background scraps or bits of watercoloroured cardstock, an extra die cut leaf, a stamped image, some fussy cut images I had extras of. Many times I may not even remember when I created it or the colours I used for it but it comes in handy.
I had stamped a few of the images from the In the Moment stamp set on an A6 size card piece ready to colour whenever I felt like it. This too was in my scrap pile. When in a bit of a creative funk, colouring in can help the process.
I enjoyed the colouring process and used a combination of Stampin’ Blends to achieve the shading.
I followed the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches #582 to complete my card and used Mint Macaron and a feature colour in a bit of a farewell to one of my favourites.
This card would be great to give Mum for Mother’s Day (which is just a few weeks away). After all, Mum would just love a moment to sit, read a book and relax on her day.

When I created this colour palette, little did I know that a couple of these colours would be farewelling us this year. For my colour palette no. 6 I’ve chosen some beautiful Easter colours. Blushing Bride and Bermuda Bay will be leaving us so it was lovely to be able to use these pretty colours on this card.
I chose the Easter Bunny stamp set in keeping with the colours. The bunny was stamped in Crumb Cake ink and lightly blended with the same ink using a Blending Brush. I added some detail with Rich Razzleberry and Crushed Curry Watercolour Pencils.
I used the Watercolour Pencils to add a light shading of Bermuda Bay, Gorgeous Grape and Rich Razzleberry – picking the closest colours to my palette. These were blended with a Stampin’ Blend Color Lifter.
A cute border was die cut along the sentiment panel with the Penned Dies which I then coloured in with a Soft Sea Foam Stampin’ Blend. All my elements were added onto a card base in one of my favourite neutrals – Sahara Sand. This colour is also leaving us so if you love this colour, get some cardstock, ink and refills from our Last Chance sale to keep you going.
