Garden Grandeur Thank you Card for fms546

I’ve been sitting creating Thank you cards for my customers. I started off with an idea for using the Decorative Circle punch as a topper by gluing a 3cm piece of the Design a Daydream Designer Series Paper to Basic White Cardstock. Then I punched the circle from it to form the topper.

Freshly Made Sketches #546, FMS546, Garden Grandeur, Design a Daydream DSP, Timeworn Type DSP, Thank you Card, Celebrating you Stamp Set, Customer Thank you Cards, Stampin Up!, SU

Sometimes when I start creating I really don’t have an end result in mind. This was the case today – I just stamped, fussy cut and created a topper. The rest of the card just fell into place. This works for me if I’m also struggling for ideas and don’t know where to start. I’ll stamp an image, then maybe add some colouring in and somehow creativity takes over and soon I’ll have a project done.

As I was piecing this together, I thought I would be able to work this into the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches. I punched out 2 Decorative Circles from the DSP and laid it out to resemble the sketch.

The embossed Petal Pink panel adds some lovely texture against the card base of the same colour. A heat embossed sentiment in White on Kraft Cardstock picks up on the natural tones of the Linen Thread.

Hues of Happiness for Freshly Made Sketches #540

I’ve been inspired by this sketch at Freshly Made Sketches for the design of this card. The beautiful Hues of Happiness Designer Series Paper provided the focal point for my card. Just use the Blossoming Happiness Dies to die cut the images and you have some quick pre-coloured images to add to your projects.

To create the panels I blended some Coastal Cabana and Bermuda Bay ink on 1 rectangle. On the other I lightly blended some Coastal Cabana and then using the background die as a mask, I added Coastal Cabana through the openings. This created a subtle background for the second panel.

If you love the Hues of Happiness suite you are sure to like my class for Creative Club. You will get to create 5 cards in this class and you will receive a goodie bag with over $30 of product.

Freshly Made Sketches #497

Freshly Made Sketches FMS497, Stampin' Up!, SU, Sailing Home, Smooth Sailing, Card Sketch, Card Layout

I’ve got a card for the guys today, inspired by the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches. I picked up the Sailing Home stamp set that has been around for a little while now to create my main images. For those of you who know me, most times, I will get those beachy sets in our catalogues as I love working with them.

My card began with a piece of scrap I had leftover after creating my Card Club cards for this month. The white cardstock embossed with the Bark embossing folder became the vertical strip on my card.

I scraped the edges of this strip along the Coastal Cabana and Night of Navy pastels to create the coloured border.

The compass was stamped in Versamark and heat embossed in White on the background. Then I added Coastal Cabana and Night of Navy Pastels over it with my Blending Brush. This was blended on the bottom left and top right for continuity.

I stamped the anchor in Bermuda Bay and edged with the Night of Navy pastel to create the two-tone effect. The rope was die cut from Crumb Cake cardstock to coordinate with the Crumb Cake mat I added under the main layer.

The sentiment was heat embossed on Pacific Point cardstock as the Night of Navy pastel when applied, had a more vibrant tone as that of Pacific Point. Poppy Parade sails add a pop of colour to make this card have a marine look.

Freshly Made Sketches, FMS497, Sailing Home, Smooth Sailing Dies, Stampin' Up!, SU, Masculine Card, Male, Beach theme, sea, yacht, Birthday Card

The Crumb Cake layer was mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals to add more depth.

Love your Stampin’ Up! Colours Challenge

Freshly Made Sketches FMS492

Inspiration can come from many places and my card today has a couple of sources which inspired it’s design.

The sketch has been interpreted from this sketch FMS492 by Cécile Ribon at Freshly Made Sketches.

My colour scheme came about as a result of the Stampin’ Up! Artisan Design Team’s ‘Love your Stampin’ Up! Colors’ challenge. ADT members have been creating projects using their least used Stampin’ Up! colour they are challenging us to do the same.

The colour that spends most time on my shelf is Merry Merlot. Did you know that Merry Merlot is one of our Neutrals? So it’s quite unusual for this girl whose favourite palette is the Neutrals range, to neglect Merry Merlot.

Love your Stampin' Up! Colours, Love your Stampin' Up! colors

I started by picking the Beauty of the Earth DSP which has Merry Merlot in it. The plant was fussy cut from Bloom Where You’re Planted DSP which had another of the colours I don’t use that much – Garden Green.

To keep the layout of the diagonal feature across the centre on the sketch, I stamped the Stacked Stone background stamp over 2 masks of ripped paper. This created the uneven edge.
