Stampin’ Dreams Blog Hop – Valentine’s Day

Hi crafty friends,

Welcome to Stamping Flair and thank you for stopping by to see what I have created for the Stampin’ Dreams Valentine’s Day inspired blog hop. There’s still time for some last minute creating and we are here to inspire you.

Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop July Designer Series Paper

I’ve got a little treat bag for you today and this is definitely perfect for a last minute make as it is very quick to create. Stampin’ Up! have some gorgeous gift packaging and these Copper Dotted Treat Bags are simple and elegant.

I stamped the lacy heart in Real Red and then layered it on a heart punched out of the Designer Series Paper and then set it against one of those beautiful doilies. At $9.50 for 40 doilies these are great value as there is so much you can do with them.

The wood grain paper is from the Pressed Petals Specialty DSP. If it has wood, I love it and I find it so versatile. Add a few chocolates in the cute cellophane bags for some added prettiness and you’ve got a lovely little treat bag.

Nature Inspired Gift Bag

Today, Stampin’ Up! demonstrators around the world have been having a Lovely as a Tree farewell party. ‘Why this stamp set’?, you may ask. This has been the longest serving stamp set in Stampin’ Up! history, being introduced into the 2007-2008 catalogue. It’s service to stampers worldwide warranted a special send off. We have been sharing memories and ideas with this timeless stamp set on the Facebook Demonstrator page. Anyone who is a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator can be part of this group where we find ideas, inspiration and encouragement.

We have also been welcoming the latest addition to ‘tree’ like stamps – Rooted in Nature. Together, these stamps can work side by side to create beautiful works of art. My project combines both these sets to create a cute treat bag or gift bag to fill with something special.

A gift bag created with Lovely as a Tree stamp set

I started off by using my scraps of Calypso Coral cardstock to add the stripes between the gold stripes on the bag. Those scraps never go to waste in my craft room and they were perfect for this project.

The tree was stamped in Old Olive and then I added some Crushed Curry and Calypso Coral with a sponge dauber. I used the Tea Room Memories & More Card Pack for the panel behind the tree and also for the sentiment. These colours tied in well with the chosen colour palette.

To create the leaves, I first brushed water liberally over a piece of Shimmery White cardstock. Then I sprinkled Gambouche and a tiny bit of Brilliant Red Brusho Crystal over it. Once dry, I stamped the leaves in Calypso Coral and die cut them.

Rooted in Nature leaves coloured with Brushos, Stampin' Up!

This bag was not complete without a doily. These coloured doilies are great because they are white on one side which make them suitable for altering the colour as well with Markers, Blends or ink.

Stampin' Up! Lovely as a Tree and Rooted in Nature Treat Bag

Since I had prepared this post, this lovely stamp set has sold out. However, the Rooted in Nature stamp set is available. Buy as a bundle and save.

Save 10% on Rooted in Nature Bundle

During the current catalogue you can get the Rooted in Nature stamp and Nature’s Root dies as a bundle which will save you 10% of the total price. Although these 2 items are carrying over into the new catalogue, they will NOT be bundled and will only be available as separate items.

The treat bags, Brusho Crystals and some other items are retiring as well so if there’s something you like then it’s best to get it before it’s too late.
