Oct 18, 2018 | Cards - Christmas |
How cute is this child holding his Christmas present? I have really enjoyed colouring in the images in the Happiness and Cheer stamp set. On this card I’ve used the colour combination of Cherry Cobbler, Pool Party and Shaded Spruce.

There’s something about colouring that is very relaxing and working with Stampin’ Blends requires minimal effort. This image is very quick to colour.
Stampin’ Blends are a no fail way to add shading, depth and dimension to your colouring. It’s great for even a beginner as the colours are named and come in 2 shades – light and dark – so there is no confusion as to what colour or shade you need to use. Blending works so well and the Colour Lifter allows you to add extra highlights for more effect.

I’ve added several layers of circles and I think the doily from the Detailed Baubles die set is so great that I am tempted to use it on everything. Love my doilies. I chose the Tufted embossing folder as it was like a quilt and the boy was in his pj’s so it was just the right look for bed time.
Some sprigs punched from glimmer paper added a bit of sparkle for the Christmas season.
If you haven’t got yourself some Stampin’ Blends, give them a try. They come in individual light and dark shades or combination packs. Give a couple of colours a try and remember to use the Tuxedo black Memento ink pad to stamp your image.
Happy colouring.

Sep 30, 2018 | Cards - Christmas, Step-It-Up Sunday |
Hi Everyone,
Welcome to Stamping Flair and this week’s edition of Step-it-Up Sunday. I have been on holidays this past week and it has been an extremely full week. I celebrated my birthday during the week and went out with my family and some friends for dinner. That was a really enjoyable day.

Our kitchen is being renovated and should be completed this week so we have had to spread the kitchen over a few rooms. Dishes are being washed in the bathroom, microwave and cooking done outside – a very interesting time. However, the kitchen is looking good and I’m very pleased with it.
Today’s cards use the Happiness and Cheer stamp set. I think the images are really cute and especially love this image with the carolers.
Basic
Stamp the image in Smoky Slate and attach to the card. Cut strips of Festive Farmhouse Designer Series Paper of 2cm width and attach and then add washi tape.

Intermediate
For this card, the image has been stamped on a smaller panel of Whisper White cardstock. Add a panel of Garden Green Green cardstock and emboss with the Oh My Stars embossing folder. Attach the baker’s twine with double sided tape on the back of the Garden Green panel and then attach with liquid glue.

Stamp the sentiment on Smoky Slate cardstock and die cut with the label die from Farmhouse Framelits.
Advanced
Add an extra panel of DSP to this card which also ties in with the stars on the embossing folder. Colour the image with your choice of Stampin’ Write markers as much or as little as you would like. I used Soft Sea Foam Stampin’ Blends for the tree and Frost White Shimmer Paint for the garland.

Shimmer Paints are a new product that are in the Holiday catalogue. They are available in 4 colours.
Give it a good shake prior to using each time. To apply to the garlands on this card I used a blender pen and dipped it in the lid of the Shimmer Paint tub. It just added that bit of silvery touch I wanted for this card.
This stamp set is a great set for those of you who love to colour with markers and blends. I’ll be featuring more projects with these as I think they are really cute images.
Enjoy your week.
