I struggled with this theme even though everything about Christmas is fun and a theme of Oh What Fun should have been a breeze. Sometimes, inspiration can take it’s time! In my mind, This gingerbread man came popping into my mind as I mulled over this theme for the #30DayChristmasCardmakingChallenge . So I went with it and opted for some fun pastel colours to create this card.
I had a negative laying on my desk from a die cut Deckled Rectangle and used it as a stencil to create an unorthodox background. I laid the mask here and there so it created a random pattern. Then I die cut it using the retired Stitched Rectangles dies which I’m sure many of you would have kept in your stash. This was layered on a panel of Specialty Cardstock which provided a lovely textured Fresh Freesia layer.
For the matte base layer, I watercoloured a panel of Fluid 100 Cardstock with Pool Party ink refills and a Water Painter creating a heavy wash. Once dry, this was embossed with the retired, Oh My Stars embossing folder.
The sentiment is from the Oh What Fun stamp set which is a retired sentiment set and this also provided me with the little baubles that adorned the stockings.
I just love this gingerbread man and the stocking layered together which provide such a fun focal point for this card.

Welcome to Technique Tuesday Blog Hop where we are sharing Masking Techniques with you. Don’t get confused by the title of this blog hop, it is indeed early hours of Wednesday morning in Melbourne!
There are so many Masking Techniques and I’m sure you are going to see a lovely variety through our hop today. I’ve chosen to use our Artistic Decorative Masks for my project. Masks (or stencils) are a great way to add depth without adding bulk to a project.
To create this background, I ink blended a Basic White Cardstock panel with Flirty Flamingo, Parakeet Party and Balmy Blue. Then I laid the mask over and reapplied the same colours through the mask which created this fun background.
This is a bit of a ‘twist’ for a Valentine’s Day card which you could make for next week using the Nothing’s Better Than stamp set. Take your pick of Cocktails, Cookies or Chocolates and add the coordinating images for a cute card.
I die cut the word ‘cocktails’ 3 times from White Cardstock gluing them all together. Then I die cut another from Black Cardstock gluing it slightly offset to form a shadow effect.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today. I hope this gives you inspiration for creating with Masks. Please follow the hop through for more fun ideas.

How exciting to share this time with you as I get to show you a sneaky peek at some products from the new Stampin’ Up! catalogue which becomes available to customers on the 3rd of June. Welcome to my blog and I really hope you enjoy the project I have for you today.
Selecting products to showcase is always a bit hard when it comes to a new catalogue. Only because I want to showcase everything but I made my choice today purely on the beautiful texture in the In Good Taste suite. The Designer Series Paper has background images of wood texture, brick, tiles and more. It’s just so beautiful and lovely to work with.
I started off by stamping the background tiles in Rococo Rose and the stems in Gray Granite, Then I added Versamark through a mask to the top section of my card. This was heat embossed in Clear Embossing Powder. Using sponge daubers, I added colour over the embossing in Rococo Rose and Gray Granite.
I coloured the flower with a combination of Rococo Rose, Flirty Flamingo and Petal Pink Stampin’ Blends. When you combine Stampin’ Blend colours it adds even greater depth to the image. The combination of Gray Granite, Rococo Rose and all the texture really worked so well. Colour coordination is easy – just look at the paper and be inspired.
The In Good Taste Elements add that natural wood look to create even more texture on this card.
