Dec 10, 2020 | Blog Hops, Christmas |
Hi, Welcome to the New at SU Blog Hop for December. It’s hard to believe that this year is nearly over – we made it! Our theme this month is Warm & Cozy. in Melbourne, this time of year is generally warm and not so cozy. However, my card today reflects the feelings that Christmas brings.
For me, Christmas is about celebrating the birth of Christ and enjoying this time with my family and loved ones. To capture our theme, I chose the Heartwarming Hugs DSP because of it’s traditional Christmas colours and of course with a name like that it definitely speaks ‘cozy’ to me.
I added a house fussy cut from the Trimming the Town DSP as it reminds me of the warmth of spending time with our loved ones at Christmas. The sentiment is from the Wrapped in Christmas stamp set which has lovely sentiments and I particularly like the font on this one. With a simple layout such as this, it’s easy to create several of these Christmas cards to give out. A handmade card is always appreciated.

Hi Friends,
Welcome to my blog, Stamping Flair today. I am a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator in Blind Bight, Victoria. Today I am taking part in the Ink & Share Scrapbook Blog Hop and we are hoping to inspire you to use your ribbon stash, through the projects we share.
I created this scrapbook page with my daughter Cassidy in mind. Cassidy loves music and she is currently studying music and plays clarinet, guitar, piano and she also sings. She wants to be a music teacher so I think this would make a lovely page for some photos of her doing what she loves.
My page started off with me selecting a stamp set. So I chose my favourite from the Mini Catalogue, Music from the Heart. My next decision was ribbon – oh, my don’t we have ribbon to choose from at Stampin’ Up!.
The Tri-Colour ribbon is a little bit different and I thought that would be nice to use on my scrapbook page. I added some tulle ribbon as well as the White Silver Metallic edge ribbon to create a feature on my page.
Then I coordinated this with the Best Dressed Designer Series Paper to add to the Purple Posy base.
I stamped the stave on the top of the Whisper White cardstock which created a border on the top of the page. The stamp is not this long but as it is photopolymer, it’s easy to line it up.
The Treble Clef and notes were added to finish the ‘piece’. I showed Cassidy my completed project and she loved it. She also correctly noted (in jest) that the Treble Clef was on the wrong side of the stave! LOL. So this is an artistic Treble Clef not a musical one!

Hi friends,
Welcome to the Stampin’ Dreams blog hop. If this is your first time visiting me, I hope you enjoy your visit and that you do stop by again.
Our theme this month is Case A Card. Many times I am inspired by others and I alsofind lots of inspiration from the Stampin’ Up! catalogues which I go to time and time again for colour combinations, layout options, techniques and lots and lots of ideas! I have chosen the layout of the card on the top of Page 4 of the Sale-A-Bration catalogue to CASE (Copy and Selectively Edit). This card involves no stamping at all and uses the beautiful Tropical Oasis Memories and More Card Pack.
I started by creating a panel of Shimmery White cardstock with Pigment Sprinkles. I then embossed this with the Basket Weave embossing folder. By adding this layer onto the Mango Melody card base, it depicted the original card layout.
I fussy cut the central image and added some Dimensionals onto the sentiment sticker to layer it onto the ribbon.
So when you take a look at your catalogue, apart from beautiful products, see what ideas you can CASE. It’s filled with inspiration and is great when we have those creative blocks at times.
All products used to create this card are listed below. Make sure you stop by all the blog hop participants to see what fun projects they have for you and their take on the projects they have CASEd.
If you live in Australia and don’t have a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, I would love the opportunity to help you. You can request a copy of the catalogue HERE.

Hi,
Happy new year! Welcome to Stamping Flair and the ESAD Mini Catalogue Blog Hop. I am a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator from Blind Bight down the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria.
I am so excited to be able to share with you some cards that I’ve made from the beautiful new Mini Catalogue that we have and the additional Sale-A-Bration catalogue.
I’ve chosen the Tropical Oasis suite to feature today – it’s my favourite. I think it’s the beautiful colours combined with a touch of vintage and floral – everything that I just love.
The suite consists of a stamps and dies, Embossing Folder, trinkets, Memories & More card pack,
Burlap Trim and Saddle Brown Stazon ink (Product Code #153941)
For my first card, I have fussy cut some elements from the Memories & More card pack. The edges of my card base and fussy cut images have been distressed with the Saddle Brown ink. I am loving this colour – it is unlike any of the browns in our Classic range.
I embossed the Whisper White cardstock with the Coastal Weave embossing folder. Doesn’t that pattern just make you feel like you’re in the tropics? Then I added Pear Pizzazz ink over it using a sponge dauber. I used the debossed side of the embossing folder which then picked up the raised lines of the pattern.
I think this card would make a great bon voyage or happy retirement card.
My next card features the beautiful stamp set and the feature flower in it. I stamped it on Fluid 100 Watercolour Paper in Saddle Brown Stazon ink. Stazon ink is required when watercolouring.
A combination of these watercolours were used for the flower and 3 leaves.
- Daffodil Delight
- Pumpkin Pie
- Melon Mambo
- Early Espresso
- Granny Apple Green
- Old Olive
- Garden Green
When you’ve got another stamp set that has the word ‘tropical’ in it, the combining of products from the Tropical Chic stamp set was something that just had to be done. I love how the leaves coordinate and there’s even a sheet of DSP that matches.
My sentiment was stamped on a label made with the Label Me Lovely punch. I extended this label and created a matte in Grapefruit Grove. You can create any size label you like. All you need is a strip of cardstock that is 5cm wide. Then insert into the punch from the top so only one end is getting punched. Do the same for the other side and you have a custom label.
Thank you for stopping by my blog and I hope you have been inspired with the projects I have shared with you today. All products used are listed at the end of this post.
