Hello and welcome to the New at SU Blog Hop where this month you will see – all sorts of creations but not a card! Our team will be sharing with you a range of different projects using products from the Mini Catalogue and Online Exclusives collection.
I’ve got a scrapbook page to share with you using the Rock Star bundle and the entire Rock & Roll suite. This suite comes with a stamp set and coordinating dies, Designer Series Paper and embellishments.
I blended the trio of blues at the base of the Designer Series Paper to create an ombre effect.
The plectrum was die cut from the Rock & Roll Designer Series Paper and heat embossed with Clear Embossing Powder 3 times. This gave it a beautiful shiny finish just like the real ones.
I accented my page with lightning bolts which were die cut from Shimmer Cardstock and coloured with a Dark Highland Heather Stampin’ Blend to coordinate. The star embellishments were coloured in with the Dark Night of Navy Stampin’ Blend and these were placed around the page amongst the various elements.
Please stop by my page later on today to see another page created with this same bundle but with a totally different look. I’ve been having some Rock & Roll fun!
For more inspiration please follow our hop through. Thank you for taking the time to have a look at my project inspiration. I look forward to seeing you back again very soon.

When I saw the theme at Just Add Ink Challenges #655 I knew I had to take part. Music has been a part of my life since the day I was born. With a mother who was a piano teacher and choir directress we were a home immersed in it’s rich heritage.
I chose the Enjoy the Rhythm stamp set with an idea of making more of a guy card. Taking a panel of Fresh as a Daisy Designer Series Paper, I embossed it with the Merry Melody Embossing Folder. This Pebble Path sheet has a dry brush look background which immediately added a light and dark area to the embossing.
I went over the embossing with Tuxedo Black, using a Sponge Dauber to highlight the music notes.
Next I added a banner with the Dry Brushed Metallic Paper which was a look I liked. At this point I decided to add the Gilded Leafing over the embossed panel as I felt it would work well against the Specialty Paper. I used a brush and my fingers to smoothen the surface and take off the excess. Have you played with Gilded Leafing? It’s a fun product which adds beautiful texture.
There are different ways you can apply Gilded Leafing. On this card, I roughly dragged the Versamark Ink Pad in the areas that I wanted the gold on. Then I applied Heat & Stick Powder over these areas, activating the stickiness by heating it with a Heat Tool. Next I laid the embossed panel face down into my Gilded Leafing container.
TIPS FOR WORKING WITH GILDED LEAFING
Transfer the Gilded Leafing to a larger box. It comes packaged in a small container. By transferring it to a larger container, I’m able to place a card front in it and have more space to work with it.
Don’t breathe over it or sneeze on it! It will fly away everywhere!
Using Paper Snips, I gently scraped off some of the Gilded Leafing to expose the notes and stave. I really liked this background which highlighted the embossed detail even more and gave it a bit of a ‘funky’ look.
On the sentiment panel, I stamped sections of the piano keys by masking off the sentiment, to create some added texture. The guitar which has been coloured with Stampin’ Blends was kept simple against the gold tinged background.
I hope you give this fun techique a try and if you have any questions please get in touch with me. All supplies I have used are listed below. If you live in Australia, you can shop with me by placing an order online or by contacting me.

Welcome to Stamping Flair in Melbourne. Today, I’m taking party in the Crafty Collaborations Blog Hop and we are showcasing products from our new Mini Catalogue which launched on the 5th of January.
Coming from a musical family, the Enjoy the Rhythm stamp set was a ‘must have’ for me. There are so many fun musical images which can be coloured in and matched with the range of sentiments. My favourite – Treblemaker!
I coloured the drum set in a range of Watercolour Pencils – Coastal Cabana, Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight and Basic Gray. I used the backing of the of the cling stamp as a mask, and stamped the stave of notes around the image in Bermuda Bay ink then blended Pale Papaya ink around the circle.
My colour palette has been inspired by the Colour Inkspiration colour challenge #135.
Some Pale Papaya ink was blended at the bottom of the card base to add depth. Around the tag I coloured the edge with the Calypso Coral Watercolour Pencil to create a simple border to coordinate.
Thank you for stopping by my blog today and I hope you have been inspired to consider adding the Enjoy the Rhythm stamp set to your Wish List. Full list of products are at the bottom of this post. So glad that you are able to stop by my blog today. A very early, Happy Easter, from Melbourne to you. If it’s your first time visiting me, I hope that you have fun and enjoy looking around. For those who are regulars, I so appreciate you checking out my posts and interacting with me. We are celebrating birthdays at the Joy of Sets Blog Hop this month.
So, I created some birthday fun with my card and I think it has a bit of a disco look to it.
I had so much fun creating this background. I started off by using my Stamparatus to align and stamp the streamers in Versamark all along the top half of the card. This was done on Shimmery White cardstock. Then I spritzed it with water and sprinkled Gorgeous Grape Pigment Sprinkles over it. Sometimes, I get impatient and blot it with a tissue to help it dry but this time I let it dry by itself. I love the beautiful patterns and colours it formed. Does’t it look fun?
The piano was stamped in Tuxedo ink and coloured with HIghland Heather and Rich Razzleberry Stampin’ Blends. I stamped the heart section of the piano again in Stazon ink on silver foil and layered on top.
The sentiment was stamped on a leftover piece of cardstock which had Pigment Sprinkles on it. I like the way this coordinated with the rest of the card. This card makes me smile because it’s a bit of fun and the cow looks like she’s having a good time!

Today I’m hopping with other demonstrators for the Kre8tors blog hop. I’m really glad that you are able to visit my blog to see what I’ve created.
We are using products from the 2020 Mini and Sale-A-Bration catalogues to create our projects. I chose a particular stamp set which stands out for me.
Apart from my love of papercrafting, all my life I have been surrounded by music. My mum was a music teacher and together with her and my sister, we used to sing trios at our church. My partner, Adrian is a music teacher and accompanist for choirs and my daughter also enjoys playing clarinet, guitar and singing. So I don’t think it’s a surprise that my favourite stamp set in the Mini Catalogue is Music from the Heart. I love the images and sentiments which are just so apt for the music lover.
I have created a fun set of note cards using this stamp set and focused on the hearts. It’s so easy to create lots of cards as there are a lot of images.
I’ve used the Best Dressed Designer Series Paper to create a colourful background. The clear Epoxy Heart droplets were coloured with the Lovely Lipstick Stampin’ Blend. I coloured them with about 3 layers to get a good coverage.
I just love the sentiment of this next card – it’s bound to cheer someone’s spirits. Those birds are so cute and add just a lovely touch to the card.
This stamp set just makes cardmaking quick and I just couldn’t stop as I had so many ideas. The variety of stamps that come in this set make it so easy to do background stamping and create fun, individual patterns on paper.
I love this image of the grand piano with the heart and that sentiment would make it a great Valentine’s Day card.
Music from the Heart is a stamp set for all occasions. I hope this inspires you have a play with this beautiful stamp set which has been inspired by Million Sales Achiever Dawn Olchefske. Please leave me a comment as I love hearing from you.
