Beauty of the Deep Watercoloured Card

I’ve got a beachy card for you today, using a couple of our nautical sstamps and dies. Make sure you watch the video which I’ve linked below for the full process on recreating this.

I used this inspiration photo from Just Add Ink Challenges #686 as my starting point for this card. All along while creating my card I thought it was the colours that inspired me. Although this was probably part of it, I think subconsciously my mind saw those palm leaves in the background and went ‘BEACH’.

I watercoloured a sheet of Fluid 100 Cardstock with a few colours and once dry, die cut the coral. This gave me a beautiful shaded look. Watercolouring is just such a fun technique.

The Perennial Lavender Designer Series Paper offers a lovely ‘sandy’ background for my seaside elements

I hope you enjoy the video tutorial and find tips that are useful. Please like the video and remember to subscribe to my channel so you can be notified of future videos that I put up.

SailBoat Birthday – Colour Palette #28

Colour Palette #28 was such a calming combo to work and inspired by the photo, I stepped away from Christmas projects to use the Sailboat Builder punch. It’s been a little while since I’ve created with it and I really enjoyed using this boat as the focal point for this summery card. Being a punch, the sailboat is so quick to create. To make it even easier, I used Designer Series Paper for the sails.

For the background I used our 2023-2025 In-Color Designer Series Paper and added some extra lines using the Light Lemon Lolly Stampin’ Blends. You can get the DSP, Blends and Cardstock currently on sale during our Seasonal Sale which goes from 14th – 16th November.

I splattered some Orchid Oasis on the sentiment panel by flicking the Stampin’ Blend against the cap. Some blending with Orchid Oasis was also added to the embossed panel and to the bottom of the vessel which added a slight shadow as if in the waves. Some Wavy Trim gives that added nautical touch to this card fit for any sailor.

aWow Blog Hop – Something New, Something Used

Hello and welcome to the Around the World on Wednesday final blog hop for 2022. As the year comes to a close and we embark on a new year, our theme of Something New, Something Old is very fitting. We’re especially focusing on something we haven’t used in our stash.

Awow Blog Hop, Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop Header

Now, I do have stamp sets from our Annual catalogue which are yet to be inked up but I couldn’t go past using something from the upcoming January – April Catalogue for my new product. The By the Bay suite had me as I opened the catalogue. I have a fondness for all sets that are beachy and this suite was the first product I purchased from this catalogue.

The By the Bay Specialty Designer Series Paper provides my background and it is just stunning with it’s Gold and Pearl Foil detail.

The Basic Borders Dies create the waves. I die cut 2 sets – one in Basic White and one in Coastal Cabana which I blended with Night of Navy ink.

A sentiment heat embossed in Gold on Vellum adds softness to this card without detracting from the pretty paper.

I hope you have enjoyed this card using a sneak peek from the new catalogue and that it inspires you to use a yet-to-be-used product on your next creation.

You will be able to order the products from the By the Bay suite starting 5th January or you can add it to a Starter Kit today.

Thank you for stopping by and visiting me in Melbourne. Next on our trip Around the World is the wonderfully talented Cheryll Miller.

Esad Blog Hop – Mini Catalogue & Sale-A-Bration

Hi, Welcome to my blog, Stamping Flair for the ESAD Blog Hop. I’m based in Blind Bight on the Morning Peninsula in Melbourne. Whether you are a regular to my blog or a first timer, I am so glad you are here. I hope you find lots of inspiration.

Today, our talented demonstrators from the ESAD group will be sharing lots of projects incorporating products from our new Mini Catalogue and Sale-A-Bration Catalogue.

Sale-A-Bration is an amazing sale where you can get free craft goodies. For every $90 you spend in store qualifies for a free Sale-A-Bration product. Sale-A-Bration has been extended and will run until 16th March.

I combined the Let’s Set Sail bundle with the scenic New Horizons Designer Series Paper to create this nautical-themed card (albeit a night-sail). This was a ‘must have’ bundle for me as I have many people in my life who are keen with their water sport and beach activities.

Using 2 circle dies, the frame was die cut 4 times, with one embossed with the Timber Embossing Folder. These were glued together for added depth.

I heat embossed the sails in White and then coloured them with Balmy Blue and Night of Navy Stampin’ Blends. This was layered on a circle which I added some Cherry Cobbler Cardstock strips in varying widths to create a marine look. The yacht was punch out 3 times in white and the extra black layer was glued at the back to create a shadow.

Some ‘waves’ were die cut from the Horizon dies for added texture on this card. Punches are great for creating quick cards and Sail Boat Builder punch is one you will want to add to your collection.

Thank you for stopping by today. I’d love to hear from you so please leave me a comment. Products used are listed at the bottom of this post. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me on Ph: 0404 255 001 or email: rochelle@stampingflair.com

Create 13 Cards from One Sheet of Paper

I love challenges because they make me think of different ways to use our beautiful products. One of the Facebook Groups I belong to – Fully Visible, issued a fun challenge to keep us crafting during Covid-19. Those who wished to participate were to create a One Sheet Wonder set of cards.

What is a osw (One Sheet Wonder)?

It’s a layout using either a 12″x12″ or 6″x6″ Designer Series Paper in it’s entirety to create a set of projects – so maximum bang for your buck

I have previously followed templates from Pinterest but I set about adding another challenge on top to create my own One Sheet Wonder. I thoroughly enjoyed myself …so much that I just might have to do another one!

I used the Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper with the Come Sail Away Memories & More Card Pack. This card pack has so many great images, laser cut paper and stickers. What I’ve used on these cards is just a sample. These items are retiring and are only available while stocks last.

I have made 13 cards using this template. There are way too many photos to include in this blog post. I’ve created a printable sheet with all the cards so you can have the OSW template and card designs all in one handy file. I’ll be sharing this in my newsletter later on this week so if you haven’t already subscribed to my newsletter, you will want to do so you can download the printable. Each week, my newsletter subscribers also get some additional bonuses, projects and giveaways so we have some fun there.
