Ink & Share Scrapbook Blog Hop – Ribbon

Hi Friends,

Welcome to my blog, Stamping Flair today. I am a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator in Blind Bight, Victoria. Today I am taking part in the Ink & Share Scrapbook Blog Hop and we are hoping to inspire you to use your ribbon stash, through the projects we share.

Ink & Share Scrapbook Blog Hop - March 2020 Ribbon

I created this scrapbook page with my daughter Cassidy in mind. Cassidy loves music and she is currently studying music and plays clarinet, guitar, piano and she also sings. She wants to be a music teacher so I think this would make a lovely page for some photos of her doing what she loves.

My page started off with me selecting a stamp set. So I chose my favourite from the Mini Catalogue, Music from the Heart. My next decision was ribbon – oh, my don’t we have ribbon to choose from at Stampin’ Up!.

Music Stave used as border on a scrapbook layout

The Tri-Colour ribbon is a little bit different and I thought that would be nice to use on my scrapbook page. I added some tulle ribbon as well as the White Silver Metallic edge ribbon to create a feature on my page.

Then I coordinated this with the Best Dressed Designer Series Paper to add to the Purple Posy base.

I stamped the stave on the top of the Whisper White cardstock which created a border on the top of the page. The stamp is not this long but as it is photopolymer, it’s easy to line it up.

The Treble Clef and notes were added to finish the ‘piece’. I showed Cassidy my completed project and she loved it. She also correctly noted (in jest) that the Treble Clef was on the wrong side of the stave! LOL. So this is an artistic Treble Clef not a musical one!

Sale-A-Bration 2020 is Nearly Over

It’s hard to believe but Sale-A-Bration is in it’s last 5 days. We’ve had 3 months where we can get free products with our orders. Pretty awesome. Some of the favourites from Sale-A-Bration 2020, Golden Honey Specialty Designer Series Paper and the Kerchief Card Kit have sold out.  As a reminder, supplies are limited for products from the Sale-A-Bration brochure and may run out before the end of the promotion. So if any of the products from the Sale-A-Bration catalogues took your fancy,  make your order so you don’t miss out. This includes the 5 Sale-A-Bration Coordination products.

For the card below, I’ve used the Pleased as Punch Designer Series Paper strip on a Highland Heather card base. The Basic Black matte layer makes it stand out along with the sentiment from the So Sentimental stamp set. I added some Epoxy hearts which I embossed with Black Glimmer Embossing Powder.

This is another simple card which makes good use of the Pleased as Punch Designer Series Paper. The sentiment and labels are from the So Sentimental Bundle. I added some interest to the label, stamping a floral edge using one of the flowers from the Thoughtful Blooms stamp set. You can  get this set stamp set free with a $90 order. The coordinating Small Bloom punch created some quick and easy little flowers to decorate this card.

I love this paper as it coordinates with 4 punches, making it perfect for creating some really quick cards and I also think the colour palette is really fun. In my latest newsletter I have included a free printable ideas sheet using the Pleased as Punch Designer Series Paper. I’ve got a very quick card for you today which you can make in minutes using the Pleased as Punch Designer Series Paper

Easy to Make Sale-A-Bration 2020 Coordination Product DSP

This 12″X12″ DSP coordinates with the following punches.

  • Heart Punch pack
  • Tulip Builder Punch
  • Umbrella Builder Punch
  • Small Blooms Punch

It’s available until 31st March or while stocks last so you’ll want to get in quick for this pretty pack of paper.

Simply punch out 3 hearts from the DSP using the plain heart from the Heart Punch pack and adhere them to the bottom of your Whisper White layer. Attach a piece of Bermuda Bay ribbon across the top using Tear n’ Tape. Then wrap the Linen Thread 3 times around this layer. I tied the bow separately and attached it with a glue dot.

The sentiment was stamped in Shimmer Black Embossing Powder on Coastal Cabana cardstock. I love how this shines and the black accents the sentiment.

Birthday Card with Altered Laser Cut Paper

It’s been a full week and I’m so glad that I’ve got this wonderful craft to keep me relaxed. It’s my happy place and I get a lot of joy in sharing it with you. When most of our regular activities get taken away, it’s lovely to have something we can do in the comfort of our own homes – plus it’s relaxing – so that’s a bonus.

Happy Birthday Stamp Set, How to Colour with Stampin' Blends Alcohol Markers

The Happy Birthday stamp set has been a favourite of mine from the Sale-A-Bration rewards. With coordinating dies to cut out the images, you can create your cards very easily. The laser cut background paper is from the Botanical Prints Medley. This sheet is Pretty Peacock on one side and white on the other. I coloured the white side with a Dark Pool Party Stampin’ Blend to alter the colour and this gives it more versatility.

The scalloped felt under the sentiment is actually a scrap piece from the the embellishments in the Follow Your Art Embellishment Kit – no wastage. I stamped the sentiment from the Label Me Bold stamp set in Night of Navy on Coastal Cabana cardstock. This set is one of the stamp sets that have gone unnoticed a little bit in the catalogue. Those bold sentiments really pop and the background images can be used many ways.

Birthday Cake Card with Laser Cut Background

The Happy Birthday stamp set is FREE with a $90 order. It can’t be purchased separately. With only 10 days left of Sale-A-Bration, you will want to hurry to get this stamp set and the coordinating dies. The Sale-A-Bration range of products are limited so once they are gone they won’t be restocked.

Kre8tors Blog Hop – Green Monochromatic

Hi stampers,

It’s great to have you stop by today. If you are following the hop, you will probably be coming from seeing Anastasia’s lovely project. If I’m your first stop, please go through all the blogs as we all have some great inspiration for this blog hop with an interesting theme of Green Monochromatic.

Kre8tors Blog Hop August Color Challenge

In Stampin’ Up! we are spoiled with the range of colours we have to work with and for this challenge there was an abundance of greens to choose from. This is the green palette I chose.

The first image I had was a ladies pretty dress and I chose the Wonderful Moments stamp set as it was one of the more recent sets I had got and I was keen to get it inked up.

I started off by stamping the little flowers from the Thoughtful Blooms stamp set on a piece of Whisper White cardstock. This is a Sale-A-Bration stamp set which can be earned free with a $90 order.

I stamped the lady over the flowers as I felt this looked more natural than trying to stamp the flowers on top of the dress. I then coloured the dress with Mint Macaron Stampin’ Blends. For the final touch, I added some sparkle from the Wink of Stella brush all over the skirt. It just makes this skirt look so pretty and sparkly. My 16 year old daughter, Cassidy, saw it and said she’d love to wear a dress like this.

The Garden Lane Designer Series Paper was a late addition and I think it is perfect for this hop with all the green hues in it. I die cut the panels with the Stitched Rectangle dies. For the Whisper White embossed panel, I extended the die by partially die cutting and then turning and realigning to cut the rest of the panel. This gives me a longer panel than the actual die size.

The additional flowers are from one of my favourites in the Mini Catalogue – the Botanical Prints Product Medley. I coloured and die cut 2 of the bouquets, cutting one in sections to fit over the sentiment. This would make a lovely graduation card.

I hope you have been inspired by my card to try out some monochromatic projects and would love for you to leave me a comment. All products I have used on this card are listed at the bottom of this post. If you live in Australia and don’t have a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, I would love the opportunity to help you along your creative journey.
