Ink & Share Scrapbook Blog Hop – Summer

Hi Friends,

Happy middle of the week! Wednesdays are great days aren’t they? Second half of the week means the weekend looms near. It’s extra nice because I get Wednesdays off from my regular job in a school so more time to craft.

Ink & Share Scrapbook Blog Hop Today I’m thrilled to be part of the Ink & Share Scrapbook Blog Hop. I am a cardmaker most of the time and I jumped at the opportunity to participate in this blog hop as it just stretches my creativity and made me think big (scrapbook page size)!

I am a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator from a small coastal town of Blind Bight in the South Eastern suburbs of Melbourne. The beach is a short 5 minute walk from our home and it’s a lovely quiet area away from the busy suburbs. So when I found out the theme for this month’s hop was ‘Summer’ my first thought was Coastal Cabana for the beach and that’s how my page unfolded.

The next product that I really wanted to incorporate was the striped So Saffron cardstock from the Magnolia Lane Memories & More card pack. The yellow signifying sunshine and bright days.

Summer themed Scrapbooking page for Everyday moments

Summer evoked memories of my childhood in Sri Lanka with palm trees and bright flowers. The Tropical Chic stamp set had the perfect images for this.

Summer themed scrapbook page also suitable for honeymoon style photos

The flowers have been stamped in Memento ink on Shimmery White cardstock. Then I sprinkled Pigment Sprinkles on a clear stamping block and used an aqua painter to colour them in. The effect is so pretty and the colours are intense. A little goes a long way. The sentiments are also from the Memories & More card pack and I’ve layered them to create depth and interest.

I’m so glad I have had this opportunity to participate today as it’s been a whole lot of fun. Make sure you stop by all the participating blogs and check out the fun ways everyone has interpreted Summer. Please click on the Next button to see what Cindy has created.

Emergency Valentine’s Day Card in Non-Traditional Colours

With Valentine’s Day only a couple of days away, I’ve got an emergency Valentine’s card if you haven’t made one yet. This is suited for the person who is not partial to the reds and pinks. I’ve gone green today and really like the look of this non-traditional card for Valentine’s day. What’s more, it’s a gate fold card so you can create a quick card which is also a fancy fold the recipient will love.

Gate Fold Card Directions

Cardstock –  21cm x 14.8cm
Score on the long side at 5.2cm and 15.8cm
Designer Paper – 14.2cm x 4.6cm (2 panels)

I chose the Tropical Escape Designer Paper against the Pear Pizzazz card base. The colours blend so well together. The gold elements in this card are from the Painted Love Gold Vinyl Stickers which were from last year’s Occasions catalogue. These are retired but the good news is that they are on the Clearance Rack and you can get them for just $4.90. There are some really lovely items on that Clearance Rack at some great prices so definitely check them out to grab a bargain.

I adhered the heart sticker to Very Vanilla cardstock. Although I did have the die to cut this out, I fussy cut it for this card. I also added some sticker borders to the Shaded Spruce cardstock. To make the 2 sides of the card sit together, I used the new Rectangle Stitched Framelits Dies and embossed with the Subtle embossing folder which really gives it texture without being too busy.

A simple stamped sentiment in the corner and the card is ready to give for Valentine’s day. I think this is perfect to give a man as it’s not too girly (I’ve kept it ribbon and doily free!) and with the leaves and green shades it’s more masculine.

Step-it-Up Sunday #28 Tropical Escape DL Card

Hi Stampers,

Thank you for stopping by to check my first Spring edition of Step-it-Up Sunday. Happy Father’s Day to all the father’s in our families. How are you celebrating? I’m cooking roast pork with the lot tonight and trying out a new lemon pie so I’ll see how that turns out.

What better way to start off spring than a card with flowers. I have used the Tropical Chic bundle for my project today The card base is 10cm x 20cm.

Basic.

Add a layer of Whisper White cardstock on top of the Thick Whisper White cardstock base. Stamp sentiment in Blackberry Bliss.

Die cut squares from Stiched Framelits and Layering Squares. Stamp images in Blackberry Bliss and Grapefruit Grove and attach together. Attach these on top of Whisper White panel with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Intermediate

To step this card up, stamp the base of the card in Smoky Slate. Then add a panel of Nature’s Poem Designer Series Paper behind the 3 images.

Stamp the sentiment on a strip of Smoky Slate cardstock and insert each end into the Everyday Label punch to form the decorative edge,

Advanced

Die cut the Whisper White cardstock and emboss with the Layered Leaves Embossing folder, The images have been stamped, die cut and attached with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

To add extra depth to the flower and leaves I added an extra colour with sponge daubers. To get this look is very simple. Ink up the flower in Grapefruit Grove and then sponge around the edges in Poppy Parade. Ink up the leaves in Berry Burst and sponge around the edges in Blackberry Bliss. Stamp and die cut the images.

Then add some faceted dots to complete the card.

Hope you enjoy creating this card.

Remember, Holiday Catalogue is released on 5th September. I can’t wait to share it with you. Please let me know if you would like a copy. You are going to love it.

Step-it-Up Sunday #19 Decorate a Mini Pizza Box

Hi Stampers,

Thank you for stopping by Stamping Flair today. Trust you have had a great week. Have you been able to get any crafting done? I know how hard it is to find the time between working, housework, being a mum and all the other ‘stuff’ we have to do but isn’t it great when we just get a moment to relax and create? I find it so relaxing. I’m on 2 weeks holidays so I hope to get a bit more crafting done and get a few sleep ins too!

For today’s Step-it-Up Sunday, I wanted to create something different so I chose the Mini PIzza Box. They are pre cut, food safe boxes which just need to be folded and take less than a minute to assemble. These are so cute and there are so many ways in which you can decorate them whether it be by stamping, spritzing, covering with DSP – many options.

I was inspired by this colour combination.

Basic

Use the Artisan Textures stamp to cover the sides of the pizza box in Mango Melody. Apart from being a lovely texture stamp, this stamp also easily and quickly adds background colour. Then attach a 3 1/4” piece of Tropical Escape DSP to the top.
