Team Coastal or Team Traditional – what will I pick for this month’s Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop? I’m Team Christmas in whatever colour it comes in but for this challenge I had to go with coastal charm.
The Around the World on Wednesday blog hop team are a group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from different areas of the world. On the 2nd Wednesday of each month we share inspiration based on a particular theme.
Here in Melbourne, Christmas is typically warm and summery, a stark contrast to the snowy scenes many associate with the season. Living just a 5-minute walk from the beach makes the coastal theme feel even more fitting for my lifestyle. The coastal palette included pink! As you might know, pink is my absolute favourite, so how could I resist?
The Winterly Tree Tops bundle was sitting on my desk so I thought let’s go with some tropical birds for my coastal Christmas card. The birds were watercoloured in Summer Splash and Granny Apple Green and some Azure Afternoon highlights.
Around the birds I added some die cuts from the Seaside Wishes, Charming Duck Pond and Flowers of Beauty dies to work in with my beachy theme. Some Flirty Flamingo adds the touch of pink to my card.
I also added some fussy cut logs from the Otterly Adorable Designer Series Paper with the foliage hiding the printed otters. Of course a Christmas card wouldn’t be complete without some Glimmer Paper and a generous brushing of Wink of Stella on the birds.
Many of the products I have used on this card are part of bundles that are discounted in our Seasonal Sale which runs from 13th – 15th November. A product list is below to assist you with selecting products.
I hope you have been inspired with my mish mash of products. Let me know—do you love the laid-back charm of coastal Christmas colours, or do you prefer the classic traditional hues? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments!
Next on our hop you will be visiting Danielle Kassing in the Netherlands. Be sure to follow the hop through for lots of inspiration. I know I’m looking forward to seeing what my friends have chosen for their colour palette.

Hi friends, Welcome to this week’s CASEing the Catty Sunday Challenge. For CTC494 we are CASEing a sketch from the beautiful Splendid Autumn suite in the Stampin’ Up! September-December Mini Catalogue.
The crew are CASEing the sketch on the Wild Wheat card on the right. Don’t forget to share your cards you create using this sketch, on our FB group.
New product alert!
I got some new goodies this week and I thought I’d use them for the first time on this card. The Happy Hibiscus bundle will be available for purchase on the 5th of November as part of our Online Exclusives range. Demonstrators had the opportunity to purchase this a month earlier in pre-order.
This bundle includes a stamp set and a hybrid die set and embossing folder. It’s simply beautiful.
The stamp set is a two-step stamp set which means that you can stamp the outline and then there is a separate stamp to fill-in the inside with colour. This makes colouring an image very quick. What I found with this particular set was that it was extra easy to line up those images as well.
Now, if you are a colouring enthusiast, like me, you can choose to colour those images as well. However, in this case, I went with stamping. I did add some extra detail on the flowers and the leaves with Watercolour Pencils which adds some lovely highlights.
To form the rectangle part of the sketch, I die cut a label from the Flowering Zinnias Designer Series Paper using the Radiating Stitches dies and trimmed off part of the die cut. Then I layered the flowers and leaves on top of it. The sentiment was die cut with the label die which comes in the bundle and layered on a couple of strips of paper from the same pack.
I embellished my card with some Twisted Gold Thread (another new product you will LOVE) and sequins in multiple colours.
If you would like to order this product on the 5th, you can do so Online or let me know and I can put through an order for you. Thank you for stopping by and I hope you’ve loved this sneak peek of the Happy Hibiscus bundle. My newsletter subscribers will receive a tutorial for this card. If you would like to receive a weekly tutorial please subscribe to my newsletter below.
Next on our hop is Julia Quinn. Please check out all the crews’ projects for some fabulous inspiration.

Hello friends, Welcome to the New at SU blog hop for September. Today the projects we are sharing will be using bundles from the Stampin’ Up! September – December Mini Catalogue. I have used the Sentimental Wishes Bundle to feature on my card.
This bundle is part of the Sentimental Christmas suite which also includes Designer Series Paper, Ribbon and embellishments.
On the background, I stamped the leaves from the stamp set in Balmy Blue and embossed the Cardstock panel with the Dashing Designs Embossing Folder.
I chose this beautiful image of the stocking, reminiscent of a storybook image and coloured it with Stampin’ Blends. Around it I added some leaves die cut from Basic White Cardstock using the Winterly Tree Tops dies. These were blended in Soft Sea Foam ink for a subtle addition to the foliage in the stocking.
The base layer of White Cardstock was embossed with the Painted Trees embossing folder. I ran the Cardstock through 4 times too ensure all the edges of the Cardstock had the lovely detail of the folder. Then I distressed the edges with Paper Snips.
The sentiment label was blended with Pretty in Pink and Soft Sea Foam ink to coordinate with the rest of my card, A single snowflake and some Drusy Embellishments add the finishing touches to this vintage card.
Thank you for taking the time to stop by and I hope you have been inspired by my project. Make sure to browse through all our other blog hop participants for heaps of inspiration.

Hello friends, Welcome to our CASEing the Catty Challenge and for CTC484. Today we get to CASE anything from the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue. Well, you know when the there is such a large selection, it’s harder to make a choice!
I really loved the ‘You inspire me’ square card on Page 74 of the catalogue. There are so many elements in this card to be inspired by such as the background stamping, layout or square card.
What I really loved in this card was the colour palette so I selected these colours for my card.
I flipped the colours around a bit, making Summer Splash the predominant colour. The matte layer was embossed with the Changing Leaves hybrid embossing folder and I added some ink blending over it in Summer Splash to highlight some of those embossed leaves.
The leaves were stamped on Fluid 100 Watercolour Cardstock. I stamped 2 leaves in Saddle Brown Stazon ink and watercoloured them in Calypso Coral, Petal Pink and Wild Wheat using ink refills.
The larger leaf was stamped in Calypso Coral onto Fluid 100 Cardstock. Then I added some Calypso Coral and Wild Wheat onto the stamp using a Water Painter. As the stamp set is photopolymer, I was able to align the image over the previously stamped image. The slight dampness which was on the Water Painter was sufficient to create movement on the ink and create some areas of deeper colour.
Some glimmer die cut sprigs from the Flowers of Beauty Dies were added inbetween the watercoloured leaves and placed on a die cut circle from the Spotlight on Nature dies. I added some tone-on-tone shading with Petal Pink around the circle.
A heat embossed sentiment on black and some Drusy Adhesive Backed Embellishments (from the upcoming catalogue) complete this card.
Thank you for stopping by and I hope you are inspired to try some of these techniques. Please leave a comment as you follow through to see Monique Fielder’s project.

Hello and welcome to our New at SU blog hop. This month we are sharing elevated embossing projects with you.
Embossing folders are my favourite tools in papercrafting. Why?
It’s quick to create texture with them
They are low cost
There are so many techniques to use with them
I used the Letterpress technique with the Layered Florals 3D Embossing Folder. To achieve this look, I added Lemon Lime Twist ink to the raised side (the one with the Stampin’ Up! logo), by patting my ink pad directly onto the folder. Not moving the cardstock, I re-applied the ink and ran it through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine (SCEM) a couple of times.
Still with the Cardstock in place, I added Wild Wheat ink with a Blending Brush to sections of the same side. Then I ran it through the SCEM again. This was repeated until I was satisfied with the result. I went around the white space with the Garden Green Watercolour Pencil and blended it lightly with a Water Painter.
I added some Calypso Coral to the smaller flowers with a Sponge Dauber as I felt those needed a different look. The stamens of the larger flowers were accented with the Early Espresso Watercolour Pencil.
Some simple leaves form the focal point as I didn’t want to detract from the lovely embossing folder. A few splatters and a Linen Thread bow coplete this card.
I hope you have enjoyed what I have shared with you and give this technique a try. Please follow our hop through for lots more fun ideas for using your embossing folders.

Hi, Welcome to our monthly Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop. Our theme today is 1-2-3, A-B-C and our interpretations of this theme could vary from creating a project for a child, an older person in our life who is like a child as a result of alzheimers or dementia, maybr someone who is learning the basics of papercrafting, someone who works with children or anyone else who you could think of.
I chose the Reindeer Fun bundle along with some other products from the coordinating Reindeer Days Suite for my interactive Magic Slider card today.
There’s something about an interactive card that is fun and brings a smile to the recipient. The Magic Slider card is just that – a little big of magic. At first glance, the image is simple without colour. This image is stamped on a Window Sheet in Stazon Ink.
The same image is stamped on Basic White Cardstock and coloured in. This is adhered to the bottom of the card. So, when you pull on the tab which pulls the centre slider layer, it reveals the magic.
Here’s our cute reindeer slowly revealing all it’s colour and bringing this scene to life.
Although I created this card with a child in mind, I think anyone would be transported back to childhood and want to keep showing off their magic skills with this Magic Slider card.
Get ready to fall in love with the products in this new catalogue. Oh, those Peppermint embellishments they are self adhesive and super cute. I can see myself using a whole lot of them for my Christmas projects.
Thank you for stopping by and I hope you are excited for this fun suite of products. If you would like a copy of the catalogue mailed out to you in Australia, please contact me.
Please follow through to Aurelie Fabre’s blog to see her beautiful project.
