CASEing the Catty CTC477 – Colours of Wildly Flowering DSP

Hello and welcome to this week’s CASEing the Catty Challenge. For CTC477 the Crew are CASEing the colours of the Wildly Flowering Designer Series Paper. This DSP incorporates some In-Colors and Core colours from our range and includes Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Misty Moonlight, Moody Mauve, Mossy Meadow and Wild Wheat.

I’ve chosen these colours for my card and with the combination including Misty Moonlight, I wanted to create something using the Seaside Wishes bundle.

I started by embossing a piece of Basic White Cardstock with the Seaside Wishes Embossing Folder. Then I blended some Early Espresso on it and as I kept looking at this piece, wasn’t quite happy with the colour. So I added some Misty Moonlight over it. The way this turned out made me think under-the-sea and Little Mermaid and my card just went in that direction.

With a Palette Knife I added some Copper Enamel Effects on the embossed panel which I also spread around with my finger. I love how this looked.

On the card base I added a piece of Wildly Flowering DSP which has the tone-on-tone flowers and topped it with a panel of Wild Wheat embossed with the criss-cross Embossing Folder which is part of the Basics Pack in our Online Store. Three panels of Thoughtful Journey DSP, layered onto Misty Moonlight Cardstock provide the base for all my die cut pieces

The coral was die cut from the Thoughtful Journey DSP which provided a lovely textured look. I added some shells die cut from Oxidized Copper Specialty Designer Series Paper which coordinated with the Enamel Effects used on the base.

At this point I thought the shells were sufficient bling but I couldn’t help myself. To finish off my card I added some sequins coloured with the Dark Misty Moonlight Stampin’ Blend. This added just a subtle amount of sparkle without detracting from the other elements.

I hope you have enjoyed my CASE this week. For a product list please scroll to the bottom of this post. Click on the Next button to follow through to Peta Stephen’s blog to see her beautiful project and follow through our hop for lots more inspiration.

Monochromatic Old Olive – Christmas Baubles

Hello and welcome to the Crafty Collaborations Monochromatic Challenge this week where we are featuring an old favourite – Old Olive. As it was July and with this green, I went on a Christmas in July theme, creating some baubles for my card today.

I die cut 3 circles from the Latte Love dies and blended Old Olive ink on each of them. Wanting to create a rustic look,I added some White heat embossed images, changing the images on each of the baubles. For the top of the bauble, I used the paper trimmer die from the Crafting with You dies. Cutting off just the little edge of trimmer was the perfect size to top the baubles off.

A piece of Country Woods Designer Series Paper adds to the natural look I wanted on this card.

As it was Christmas, this card needed some glimmer so I added a large leaf die cut from Old Olive Glimmer Paper. Using the Thoughtful Wishes dies again, I cut out some smaller leaves, blending White Cardstock with Crumb Cake ink for a soft colouring that blended well with the wood DSP.

For an added visual contrast, I added leaves from the Painted Lavender dies, cut out from White Cardstock. These white accents create a sense of snow and I just love how these colours came ogether for this monochromatic Christmas card.

CASEing the Catty CTC476 – Card Sketch

Welcome to the CASEing the Catty Challenge CTC476. Today our team are CASEing one of the sketches from Page 68 of the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue and ironically it’s from the ‘Sketched’ Butterflies bundle.

I love sketches and they are my go-to as I start a project. There’s so many ways to interpret it and I’m looking forward to seeing what our team creates using this sketch.

I used the partial die cutting technique to replicate this sketch. I stamped and die cut the image from the Enduring Beauty stamp set. Placing only the section of the image that I wanted to cut out in the sandwich of the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine, the other half of the image remains in tact.

Under this I layered a piece of Summer Splash Cardstock which gave a nice shadow effect for the sketch.

Instead of a banner I stamped the sentiment from the Everyday Greetings stamp set, directly onto the Cardstock. This stamp set will be available as part of our new Online Exclusives release on the 5thof July. With loads of sentiments in beautiful fonts, this is one you will want to add to your collection.

On the base, I added some Summer Splash Designer Series Paper from our 2024-2026 In-Color paper pack. On top of this, a piece of White Cardstock embossed with the Cute Crochet embossing folder adds subtle texture.

To complete the card I added some Opal Rounds coloured with the Dark Calypso Coral Stampin’ Blend and my favourite – Linen Thread.

Next on our hop is the talented Rochelle Blok. Make sure you click on the Next button and follow our hop through for some amazing inspiration and join in the challenge with your take on this sketch.

CASEing the Catty CTC475 – Country Woods Suite

Welcome to the CASEing the Catty Challenge where each week we CASE a different section of the Stampin’ Up! catalogue. To CASE means to Copy and Selectively Edit a project. The project can be copied or altered to create something in our own style. This week we are CASEing the Country Woods Suite from Pages 48-49.

This suite comprises of 2 bundles, 2 lots of Designer Series Paper and some other products. I’ve used the Country Flowers Bundle on my project. Generally when I CASE, I try to use a different stamp set or bundle however, today I opted to work with the same bundle as the project I was CASEing because I just love this suite so much.

Caseing the Catty Sunday Challenge, CTC475, Stampin' Up!, Country Woods Suite, Country Flowers Bundle, Rustic pot colouured with Stampin' Blends, Stamping on Designer Series Paper, square card

I used the square design and the same sheet from the Country Woods Designer Series Paper as the original card.

As I really loved the original colour palette of the flowers, I coloured my image the same. The pot was coloured with several Stampin’ Blends to depict a rustic pot.

On the original card, the image was stamped directly onto the DSP and I wanted to create that look. I stamped the leaves along the edge of the DSP in Early Espresso and then coloured the bottom of the leaves with Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends.

This suite is my favourite in the catalogue and the creative possibilites are endless as you mix and match these products. Until 30th June, save an extra 10% on the Country Flowers and Country Birdhouse bundles.

I hope you have enjoyed my CASE this week and for more inspiration please follow through to Michelle Strazds’ blog below.

Spotlight on Nature with Freshly Made Sketches FMS639

This card was a result of a leftover floral sprig that I had coloured from the Spotlight on Nature stamp set. On Wednesday night I held my FB Live and I was happily creating my card and then I realized all people could see was my face and not was I was doing! So, it was back to the start for my Live and I ended up with an extra lot of flowers.

These flowers were perfect for the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches FMS639 as I was able to add it to the panel on the right.

Underneath the flowers I’ve added an additional set of leaves which I fussy cut and a label from the Labels & Layers Mix & Match Ephemera Pack.

The Wild Wheat panel has been die cut from the Thoughtful Journey Designer Series Paper and I created a longer die cut piece by running the die through twice. The first time I partially die cut the label and the second time I partially ran it through from the opposite end so that the centres joined, A sentiment from another of our Ephemera Packs completes this sketch.

CASEing the Catty Challenge CTC473 – Bundle

Hello friends, I hope you are enjoying a lovely weekend as we celebrate a long weekend here in Melbourne for the King’s birthday. I’ll take any holiday I get! For today’s CASEing the Catty Sunday Challenge CTC 473 we are CASEing a project which features a bundle from Pages 57-73 of the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue.

Caseing the Catty Sunday Challenge, Header

To CASE means to Copy and Selectively Edit a project which means you can copy the project as is or be inspired by elements of the project to make it your own. Each week the CASEing the Catty Crew share inspiration through our blog hop and then through the week you can submit your project to our FB group.

I’m CASEing this project from Page 62 of the Catalogue which uses the Pocket Thoughts Bundle.

I’ve copied the layout and the repeated pattern on my card by die cutting the Perennial Postage die from Basic White Cardstock. On these I stamped the plants from the Attention Shoppers stamp set and coloured them with Stampin’ Blends.

I then masked the plant with some Masking Paper and blended Pool Party ink around the plants, followed by stamping of the Drizzling Droplets background stamp. This technique is a CASE of the card as well where the sentiment has been masked, although I didn’t realise this until after.

For the sentiment I wanted to bring in a pop of Melon Mambo but the Cardstock was a lighter shade to the DSP strip I had added at the bottom of the card. So I coloured the Cardstock strip with the Dark Melon Mambo Stampin’ Blend, heat embossing the sentiment in White on top of it. This coordinated much better.

A bit of Linen Thread in Copper clay was added under the sentiment to tie in with the centre stripe on the pots. This is a part of the Natural Tones Linen Thread which is not in our range as yet and is a sneak peek of some upcoming product – yeah coloured Linen Thread!

We really couldn’t have timed this challenge any better because until the 30th of June we have a sale on our stamp and die bundles. Products that are bundled are generally discounted by 10% however until 30th June you can get an extra 10% off the bundled price. During this sale you can also get 10% off any Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine helping you use those dies.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by my blog. Click on the Next button to view Julia Quinn’s beautiful project.
