Blessed Sunday to you! Continuing with my ‘Dads’ theme which I’ve been focusing on my Facebook Page this week, I’ve got an outdoor themed card for the Dad who loves camping. The Campology stamp set is a favourite of mine for masculine cards.
I’m playing along with Caseing the Catty Sunday Challenge where we are casing a Christmas Tree project from the July – December 2022 Mini Catalogue, the 2022-2023 Annual Catalogue or the Sale-a-bration Catalogue. I’m CASEing this card from Page 14 of the Jul-Dec Mini Catalogue which uses the Regal Reindeer Bundle.
I flipped the card horizontal and used the Tailor Made Tags Dies to blend ink to resemble the project I was CASEing. Blending Parakeet Party and Evening Evergreen with a Blending Brush, I then stamped the trees in Evening Evergreen. I added some embossing pasge to resemble the snow which was in the original card. The Embossing paste picked up the green which was blended under and you can see the stamped trees under the light layer of embossing which adds to the rustic feel of this card.
The kettle and cup images were stamped in Soft Suede and coloured with Stampin’ Blends. I stamped the handles twice and fussy cut to attach behind the main image. A strip of the Sale-A-Bration Silver & Gold Foil DSP was added behind the tag in line with the sketch I was CASEing.
At this stage I really wanted to add a bit ‘extra’ and couldn’t go past those leaves from the Stylish Sketches stamp set. This has got to be my favourite Sale-A-Bration product as I just love the images in it. You can get this set FREE with a $90 order.

For today’s card I’ve been inspired by the Colour Challenge at Just Add Ink with a beautiful colour palette of Mint Macaron, Fresh Freesia and Starry Sky.
I went bold by blending Starry Sky on Basic White Cardstock for my matte layer. A wave and some dots were heat embossed in white to compliment the shell. I used my Stamparatus (our stamp positioning tool) to stamp the wave as I only wanted to stamp part of the image and it allowed me to re-stamp should I have needed to.
The shell was watercoloured with Fresh Freesia and Starry Sky. I inked up a Clear Block which acted as my palette. I find that this method gives me more control for watercolouring.
The leaves were coloured with Mint Macaron Stampin’ Blends, providing a soft contrast against the bold background.

This sketch from TGIF Challenges has inspired my creation today using the Wonderful World bundle. Get this bundle free with a $180 order during Sale-A-Bration.
Using So Saffron and Old Olive Stampin’ Write Markers I coloured the stamp directly and then stamped the image. A piece of the Wonderful World Designer Series Paper was added to the back along with a strip of Kraft Paper to resemble the sketch.

This is such an exciting challenge this month at our Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop. We are CASEing a team member. This is always such a fun theme. This time however, there was the ‘twist’ thrown in by our awesome leader Angie Mackenzie. We weren’t just to CASE (Copy and Selectively Edit, Copy and Share Everything – whatever your take is) but we were asked to get to know our fellow team member.
The Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop team hop on the 2nd Wednesday of each month with time spanning around 24 hours from one end of the world to the other.
I had the honour of CASEing the super talented, Stampin’ Up! royalty (as I like to call her) Mikaela Titheridge from The Crafty Oink Pen in the UK. Mikaela’s work is beautiful and I have always admired the way she sets out her projects and all the detail she puts into her work. The opportunity to chat to her was so great and I had butterflies in my tummy (excited/nervous) prior to our Zoom call. After setting up a time (dodging time differences and busy schedules) we got together on Zoom for one hour of chatting about crafting, Stampin’ Up!, favourite colours, family, travel and more.
I requested Mikaela to show me some of her favourite creations. She chose a few – for varying reasons. This particular design she said she really enjoyed making and would have made it in other colours too.
As Pool Party and Granny Apple Green are two of her favourite colours I incorporated them into this card. I started by blending Pool Party ink around the Pool Party matte layer. Then I die cut the background using the Blossoming Happiness Dies from the centre of this piece.
Some additional leaves from the Lovely You stamp were stamped in Craft ink and heat embossed in White. Using a Water Painter, some splatter of Craft Ink were added.
With July being World Watercolouring month i watercoloured these flowers and leaves from the Hues of Happiness stamp set.
I insterspersed this with flowers from the Summer Shadows dies and Vellum leaves to resemble the background in Mikaela’s card. I used the scripty Vellum sheet which added a sweet detail. The larger leaves were die cut from White Cardstock and blended with Gray Granite ink. I sometimes prefer this to adding coloured Cardstock as it gives a softer look.
REVERSE CASE
For an additional twist, I chose to CASE Cheryl Hamilton from Create with Cheryl. Cheryl is CASEing me today and I can’t wait to see what she has to share. So, off we went on Zoom again. I had such a wonderful time getting to know beautiful Cheryl in Hawaii – a whole day behind us in Melbourne. So when this hop goes Lives she is just welcoming in Wednesday. Cheryl even said the traditionnal Aloha goodbye to me! Such a warm feeling on a cold winter’s day.
I CASEd a layout of a beautiful card that Cheryl created as I’m always up for a good sketch and I set out to create something that reminded me of Cheryl – something Hawaiian – beachy and sunny.
I liked the border on Cheryl’s card and for my card I created a similar effect by using the Seasonal Labels Dies. By just running one side through the die cutting machine you can get a pretty edge without cutting the whole label. This piece was blended with So Saffron, Calypso Coral and Sweet Sorbet ink.
The shells were die cut, embossed and watercoloured with Sweet Sorbet and Calypso Coral.
Of course there had to be waves and palm trees which I die cut in black to add contrast. White embossed card layered on a White card base brings out the pretty colours of this sunny card.
I have had such a fun time CASEing these amazing ladies and even more, getting to know them better. This is what Stampin’ Up! is all about – making friends with those I wouldn’t have even known if not for stamps, ink and paper. I’m joining in the Caseing the Catty Sunday Challenge with this card. We could CASE (Copy and Selectively Edit) anything from the Mini Catalogue. For my CASE, I chose the card with the Crumb Cake card base on the top right of Page 46 from the Perched in a Tree bundle and copied the layour.
I’ve substituted the bird for a wolf from the Stylish Sketches stamp set. Going for a more wintry look with this card, I created a stencil from Cardstock and blended Granny Apple Green leaves onto Soft Sea Foam Cardstock. Then I added some snow with a water painter and Craft Ink refill.
The leaves were die cut from the Splendid Day Specialty Designer Series Paper and the foil adds a nice contrast against the rustic look of the ribbon and the card.
This was layered onto a Soft Sea Foam card base. The card base is part of a Sale-A-Bration freebie as is the Stylish Sketches stamp set. Each of these products can be earned with a $90 order.

Today I’m joining in the TGIF Challenges colour challenge #375. How could I not – just a ‘me’ kind-of colour scheme!
The idea for this card started with the embossed panel across the flowers. I coloured the debossed side with Soft Sea Foam Stampin’ Blends. This was fun to colour and gave me another fun way to use our embossing folders. I used a label from the All That dies to cut it out and then arranged it to create 2 halves bordering the flowers.
With July being World Watercolouring Month I coloured the flowers with some Watercolour pencils and blended it out with a Color Lifter. The popped up flowers were die cut from Basic White Cardstock which I had blended with Blushing Bride and Flirty Flamingo inks.
A fun striped border to edge the top of the focal panel was created with a ruler and Stampin’ Write Markers in the colours of the challenge. If you haven’t tried this, I encourage to try it in different colours or ombre tones to give your projects unique backgrounds.
