Welcome to our New at SU Blog and today we are sharing a variety of projects suitable for all levels of crafters. Each project will start with a Simple Stamping version, then it will be stepped up for the Avid crafter and the Artfully Avid crafter.
Pick what is best suited to your crafting needs and have fun creating. A Simple Stamping project is ideal if you are a beginner crafter or even if you are an experience crafter who is short on time or you just want something to create that is back to basics.
I’ve chosen the Peaceful Deer stamp set and it’s coordinating punch to create my Simple Stamping card. Punches are great for beginners and can give extra dimension to a project so simply. The deer was stamped in Gray Granite on Smoky Slate Cardstock as I wanted a lighter shade to the Gray Granite card base. A few stamped trees, some paper, a few sequins and this card is complete.
To step-up the next card for the Avid crafter, I’ve embossed the Pool Party panel with the Wintry Embossing Folder and added some ink blending in Pool Party and Tahitian Tide on the bottom of the White panel.
A die cut label adds more definition around the sentiment and some coordinating Gray Granite ribbon adds a sweet finishing touch.
A vellum banner was added providing a softness to this Artfully Avid card. I stamped the deer on Basic White Cardstock and coloured them with Stampin’ Blends.
To create the leaves I blended some Flirty Flamingo ink over White Cardstock. Then I die cut several sets of leaves. Along with the silver leaves and Snowfall Accents Puff Paint, these provide grounding for the deer.
I hope you have enjoyed the variations of this card and I would love to hear which one you would like to try out. Thank you for stopping by my blog and please make sure you follow the hop right through for lots of ideas on how you can step-up your projects.

Hi crafty friend, Thanks for joining me today for our trip Around the World on Wednesday. We are a group who love all things Stampin’ Up! and we hop on the 2nd Wednesday of each month with amazing organization by Angie Mckenzie. It’s our Basics Essentials Challenge and I can’t wait to check out what the essentials are for the rest of our team.
For this challenge, I’ve gone back to basics with stamping and created a set of 3 stepped up cards for the Casual crafter, Avid Crafter and Artfully Avid Crafter. I’ve also kept the products minimal making it basic in supplies required as well.
Measurements:
Basic Black – 21cm x 14.8cm (scored in half)
Basic White – 6cm x 11cm
Real Red – 6.4cm x 11.4cm
DSP – 14.2cm x 9.9cm
Casual
I’m creating a fun Valentine’s card as the Feb 14th is only 5 days away. I couldn’t resist the chocolates from the Nothing’s Better Than stamp because of course, that is a craft room basic!
SIP (stamps, ink and paper) are basics for creating any projects and I reckon on 99% of my projects I will add some Designer Series Paper. I LOVE Stampin’ Up! paper. DSP gives you great results with no effort. I also use my Paper Trimmer for cutting that beautiful DSP (straight!). On this card I’ve used the new release All Together Designer Series Paper. Being Black and White, it coordinates with anything really and you can colour it to suit your project.
Stamp your image outline on Basic White Cardstock in Early Espresso and fill-in image with Soft Suede stamped off. Two-step stamping is a quick basic way to add colour to your images.
If you’re a beginner crafter, I encourage you to give this card a try.
Avid
I stepped this card up a notch by adding a bit of colour to the background paper. I love colouring and find it therapeutic. Lots of my projects include some form of colouring – whether it be our Markers, Blends, Watercolouring.
Here, scattered hearts across the sheet were coloured in with the Real Red Stampin’ Write Marker. This just adds a pop to the background and brings out the ‘Chocolate’ in the sentiment. The chocolates were stamped and fussy cut and a cute gingham bow added. I think I add a ribbon to nearly every project I make!
Artfully Avid
Have you checked out our latest release of Natural Tones Stampin’ Blends? These are an early release from our 2022-2023 Annual Catalogue. Ideal for skin tones and …. ideal for shocolates too!
I die cut the sentiment from Real Red cardstock 4 times and layered it together to add depth. I glued the 4 sentiments together because sometimes I do things on a whim! Use Adhesive Sheets to make this a much less fiddly task.
Of course the inside of the card – how fun is the sentiment. Great for Valentine’s or to just make someone happy.
I created a version of this card on my FB Live tonight. Click the button below to view.

If you’re not at any stage of crafting, the Beginner projects are ideal for you to experience how much fun papercrafting is.

Here’s our talented team and we are located all over the world. When this blog hop goes live, it’s sometime Wednesday wherever we are. Enjoy your travels!
I have chosen the You’re a Peach Suite for my trio of cards today.
Beginner
Being a Distinktive stamp set, the images offer shading, giving immediate results when stamped and is perfect for a beginner stamper. Some simple stamping with some layering creates this quick card.
Measurements Basic White Thick Card Base – 21cm x 14.8cm (scored in half) Basic White Cardstock – 6cm x 7.5cm Pale Papaya Cardstock – 6.6cm x 9.5cm Designer Series Paper – 6cm x 14.8cm
Casual
I added some die cut labels for stamping my images on to step-up this card for the Casual crafter. The peaches were inked up in Pale Papaya and using a sponge dauber, I went around the edges with Calypso Coral to give a two-tone look.
On the base of the card I added some Pear Pizzazz with a Blending Brush using one of our new Masks to give the effect of a doily.
Avid
To add extra detail and interest for the Avid crafter, I watercoloured some Shimmery White cardstock with Pear Pizzazz and die cut the leaves. This along with the die cut peaches was mounted on the embossed background. I just love that Bark embossing folder for some beautiful texture.
Next on our hop is the lovely Cazz Boylan. Please click on the button below to follow through to her blog.

The touch of ink stamp set is a Tier 2 Sale-A-Bration offering. It’s a two-step stamp set and what this means is that the first image stamps the outline, while the next will fill in the colour. This stamp set is what I would also call a ‘forgiving’ stamp set. I just love that the fill-in image is not precise. So if you’re slightly out in alignment, it doesn’t look wrong and it ‘forgives’ you!
This first card I created is quick to make and is great if you need something in a hurry or if you are starting out in cardmaking. It just involves SIP (Stamps, Ink and Paper) and a few Matte Black Dots which is one of my favourite products in this catalogue.
For my next card, I used our fabulous new Blending Brushes (another fave!) to add a stepped up element. Check out my video below to see how lovely these brushes are to use.
Some extra detail with an embossing folder and a heat embossed image step this card up for the Avid crafter. With several sentiments included, this stamp set can be used for a variety of occasions and is suitable for whichever level of crafting you may be at.
I created this card on my weekly Creative Escape Facebook Live session which is held on Wednesday at 7:30pm.
This week I reached 500 FB Likes and as a thank you to my customers, I am offering 10% off all orders placed by Sunday 24th January. Please phone or text me on Ph: 0404 255 001 to place your order as the discount can’t be applied online. All orders over $90 will also receive a free product from the Sale-A-Bration offering.
Welcome to the final Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop for 2020. It definitely has been aWOW year with lots of fun themes and projects to hop through. Thanks to Angie Mackenzie for inviting me to be be part of this team and for leading and organizing this blog hop so well. We are a group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators representative of the Stampin’ Up! markets around the world. It’s sometime Wednesday in each of the time zones we are from when this blog hop goes live.
Our theme this month is Something New, Something Old with a focus on the brand new year of 2021 that is approaching us. I have used some products from the Fine Art Floral Suite which is a brand new product from the January – June Mini Catalogue. That covers my ‘new’. For the ‘old’ I have gone back to basics. Somewhere we all began when we first started out stamping – Simple Stamping. I’ve shown 3 versions of this card, each time stepping it up.
Beginner
This card is a quick make and would be great for someone who is new to stamping or if you need a card in a hurry, I stamped the flowers in Sahara Sand on the Sahara Sand card base. This provides some interest to a plain card while still keeping it simple and quick to make.
A panel of Designer Series Paper and Mossy Meadow cardstock add interest to this simple card. The Fine Art Floral Designer Series Paper is gorgeous and will coordinate with several colours. When I want to create quick cards I always reach for our DSP as it gives me beautiful cards with minimal effort plus being double sided, it gives more choice.I stamped the sentiment in Night of Navy, punched out with the Classic Label punch and cut the ends at an angle to match my ribbon.
Casual
This card was stepped up by die cutting the centre panels and the sentiment as well. I also added some Antique Corner embellishments which can be found in the Annual Catalogue.
Avid
For this final card I used the Stamparatus to stamp the bouquet of flowers in Balmy Blue, Terracotta Tile and Mossy Meadow.
To make the flowers stand out against the DSP, I added a label from the Stitched so Sweetly Dies. This has been embossed with the Wrapped in Texture Embossing Folder which is retiring and that formed another part of my ‘old’ theme.
As I completed this card the Best Wishes sentiment tied in with another way I did think of our theme this month. Something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue … I think this would make a lovely wedding card (it even has some Balmy Blue in it!). The Art Gallery suite is going to capture you with it’s Gilded Leafing and Golden Acetate sheets. You can find it from pages 32-24 of your new Mini Catalogue.
Thank you for taking the time to stop by today and I look forward to seeing you back very soon. We’ll be back next year with this blog hop with lots more fun. Subscribe to my blog if you would like to be kept updated of all my posts, events and promotions.

It’s been a while since I have done a Step-it-Up card. I used to have a feature of Step-it-Sunday so I thought it would be nice to share a Step-it-Up card again.
I loved the Game On stamp set as I saw it and I knew it would make great cards – especially for guys. The images have a shaded look to them so it automatically adds dimension. I chose the classic red, black and white colour combination for a sleek look.
Beginner
I’ve designed this card with the Beginner stamper in mind. However, this card is great for those times when you need a card in a hurry – we all have those times right? I’ve used the Paper Trimmer to cut a panel onto which I stamped the chess pieces. I added a small strip of cardstock with the chess board squares right along in a roughly straight line, Using my eye as a guide was enough as I just wanted a rough background. I added some Antiqued Corners from the World of Good suite to add a vintage feel to the card.
Casual
This card was stepped- up with the addition of a Gray Granite layer and some World of Good Designer Series Paper. The brass squares on the black take this card up a notch. Then I stamped a strip of paper using a stamp from The Right Triangle stamp set. This is one of my favourite sets as it has a lot of different designs in it which can be used a number of ways.
The main image has been stamped onto a die cut piece from the Hippo and Friends Dies. Don’t let the name of this die set fool you. It has a few magical animals but the stars, in my opinion, are the nesting dies. These are such a great tool for papercrafting.
Avid
More detail, for the Avid crafter amongst us or if you would like to take your cardmaking on to the next level. The Whisper White panel has been embossed with the Old World Embossing Folder. Then I ran Gray Granite over it using a sponge dauber which picked up those old edges of the paper. I really love the vintage feel this gives to the card.
The banners were die cut with the Stitched Rectangles die. I placed the end of the die and re-cut the cardstock to form the banner.
Some of the chess pieces were fussy cut and mounted with Dimensionals to give a 3D effect.
To decorate the inside of the card, I used a scrap piece of paper and laid it on angle as a mask. Then I stamped the image. This gave the partially stamped look.
As you can see, stamping is for everyone, no matter what level of crafter you are. If you have seen our beautiful catalogue, I’m sure you have a very long wish list. Soon, there is the Holiday Catalogue which will be coming. As a perk of being a demonstrator, I’ve been able to get a look at this last week and I can tell you, it’s got lots of beautiful and fun products in there to make your Christmas even more special.
