New at SU Blog Hop – Floral Impressions: Blooms, Layers & Memories

Hello and welcome to our June New at SU blog hop where on the third Thursday (or perhaps it’s Wednesday where you are!) of each month we share inspiration using our beautiful Stampin’ Up! products. This month we are showcasing our new suites and we have got a load of them from Annual Catalogue to Online Exclusives – there’s something to suit every style, occasion and colour palette.

There is no better month that right now for us to show you the fabulousness of our range of suites because…. there is a fabulous sale on right now. All suites and suite products are included in our Buy One Get One 50% off sale. Click HERE to find out more about this promotion which ends on the 30th of June.

I chose the Floral Impressions Suite to work with for my project. This suite which is part of our Online Exclusives range includes a Stamp and Die Bundle, Designer Series Paper, Embossing Folder, Foiled Ephemera Labels and Gems. If you have been following me, you would know how much I love this suite, especially the dies. I think I could use that leaf die on nearly every project!

As I have made so many cards with this suite, I thought I would create a scrapbook layout with it. With it’s flowers and beautiful colours there are plenty of photos that work well with it’s theme.

I’ve followed this Throwback sketch at Sketch N Scrap #209 by Lisa Hidy. I really love the different elements of this layout.

The first piece I started with was the Pool Party DSP. Once that was chosen I was able to then work out the rest of my project layers and colours. On it, I added a piece of embossed Basic White Cardstock. While only a little bit is visible, the texture can still be seen inbetween the 2 photo mattes. The photo size is 3 1/2″ x 5″ which is one of the standard print sizes available and then I can print the photo to suit.

I die cut several flowers and leaves and assembled them all and began arranging it around my page. The base flower of each pair was cut right down each petal, to give more movement and volume.

I stamped some butterflies from the Heirloom Arrangements Kit and interspersed it, along with a vintage label, into my floral arrangements. Side note – this kit is worth getting just so you have all those little bits and pieces – I love it.

Some ink blending, splattering and gems and a sentiment which would work well with so many occasions and images, complete my scrapbook layout.

Thank you for taking the time to have a look through my scrapbook page. I hope it inspires you as you create your next suite project! Please leave me a comment and let me know what you loved. Take a moment to go through and check out the rest of our team’s amazing projects.
