The Nested Friends stamp set didn’t have my heart at first glance. However, I liked the variety of sentiments in the set and ended up ordering it. I can tell you, I have got my money’s worth out of this set, especially with this bird, using it so many times.
I created a background for my card with Versamark ink which was heat embossed with Clear Embossing Powder. Then I blended Misty Moonlight ink around the edges. Adding this to a card base which I applied the same technique of blending created depth for this tone on tone background.
My card was been inspired by the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches. To form the strips I used the Delightfully Eclectic Designer Series Paper. This is a great sketch to use up those scrap pieces of patterned paper or cardstock I know you have lying around.
This pack of 12″ x 12″ papers is a bumper pack with 48 sheets in it. Usually selling for $53, during our June Designer Series Paper sale you can get it for $45.05.
The bird was stamped in Daffodil Delight and I added some detail with Watercolor Pencils. I used Daffodil Delight, Cajun Craze, Balmy Blue and Early Espresso.
The berries and leaves were die cut from Basic White Cardstock and coloured with Stampin’ Blends. Some extra shading was added with an Old Olive Watercolor Pencil. The smaller Soft Sea Foam die cut leaves were also individually highlighted the same way.
A small sentiment was added to flow in with the arrangement of sprigs whilst not detracting from the pretty paper.

When it comes to a bit of fussy cutting, I’m up for the challenge. As soon as I saw this bouquet in the Awash with Beauty Designer Series Paper, it cried out to be fussy cut. So with my Paper Snips I took to creating this focal image for my card inspired by the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.
I used some Crumb Cake Cardstock scraps I had to create a border along the DSP panel.
I die cut some Vellum stems and coloured the back with an Old Olive Stampin’ Blend along with some die cut Mossy Meadow berries.
A heat embossed sentiment from the Ringed with Nature stamp set on Merry Merlot adds a nice contrast against the flowers. When you purchase the Ringed with Nature bundle you will automatically qualify for a free product from our Sale-A-Bration promotion.
To coordinate with the natural look of the Crumb Cake Cardstock I added some Linen Thread which I wrapped around my fingers 3 times to create a loop and tucked in under the bouquet with some Tear n’ Tape adhesive.
Until 31st August any orders of $90 will qualify for a Sale-A-Bration product. You will also receive a free tutorial bundle from me.

Valentine’s Day – aaah! Love is in the air! Traditionally for couples, now this day extends to celebrate love among family and friends. As cardmakers, what a great excuse for us to create some cards to share with those we love.
As I hadn’t made a card for my partner yet, this blog hop was a great time to do that. Now Adrian is as Aussie as you can get. He’s a surfie, shorts and thongs kind of guy so Kangaroo & Co bundle just had to be used. This bundle is just so cute and you can fill it’s pouch with a joey, flowers or hearts as I have done.
I coloured the edge of the Dandy Laser Cut Paper with the Light Real Red Stampin’ Blend to create a border and then inserted a piece of the Oh So Ombre Designer Series Paper in the centre. You can get this paper as a freebie until 28th of February with any order over $90.
The matte layer of Basic White cardstock was embossed with the Painted Texture Embossing Folder. To this I added Gilded Leafing over the raised edges which created a lovely background.
My card has been inspired by this sketch at TGIF Challenges.

It’s time for our New at SU Blog Hop and we are bringing to you lots of love and hearts in time for Valentine’s Day next month or perhaps any other ‘hearty’ occasion.
I’ve used the Always in my Heart bundle and the Forever & Always bundle on this card. The entire Love you Always suite is a bumper suite with heaps of beautiful products. The foil is gorgeous and the black and white True Love DSP is a must have from this catalogue.
I used a Smoky Slate card base to bring out the beauty of the DSP. The heart from the Floral Hearts Dies, die cuts the beautiful filigree heart and also die cuts the centre heart so you get 2 hearts at the same time. I die cut a second set from Basic White cardstock and stamped my sentiment on it.
I kept the card sketch simple to let the foil heart stand out as it’s just such lovely delicate look. This sentiment is perfect to celebrate a Wedding Anniversary.
Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today. I hope you have enjoyed the card I have shared with you. Click on the Next Blog button to see Jennette Gauthier’s project.
