For today’s birthday card I chose the colour palette from the Colour Inkspirations #140 challenge. So Saffron, Petal Pink and Soft Sea Foam are all part of our subtles range and are so pretty together. It was really hard to go past this image and NOT create an Easter card. However,I resisted and opted to use the Happiness Abounds bundle for a floral card instead.
I coloured the flowers in Petal Pink and added some Light So Saffron through the bottom of the petals. This is a colouring technique I use to give variegated looks to images. The leaves were coloured in Soft Sea Foam and I added touches of Petal Pink through them which almost gave them an autumn like look of turning of colours. .
The card sketch was from the Global Design Project Challenge #gdp386 which I switched to a landscape card. I added a textured square for the right side of the sketch.
TEXTURED SQUARE
Die cut Gold Fine Shimmer Paper with Stylish Shapes Dies
Emboss with Hive Embossing Folder
Go over the embossed lines with the Dark Deep Stampin’ Blend
Immediately blend with a Blending Brush
Repeat until desired colour is achieved
Once you complete this, it takes a little bit of time (and patience) to get those flowers stuck down. The ink on top tends to resist that glue. I added Stampin’ Dimensionals and Liquid Glue and after several attempts, put a large Clear Block on it and left it to dry. It worked!
The flower formed the centre of the sketch and some blending with a mask formed the left side of the sketch. A sentiment from the Go To Greetings stamp set layered onto a strip of angled Petal Pink DSP was tucked in under the flower and leaves. I really love how the antique look on the Gold Shimmer Paper brings out the softer elements of this card and hope you do too.

Thank you for stopping my to visit my blog. If it’s your first time here, welcome. I was chosen as the winner of the Colour Inkspiration challenge a few weeks back and I want to thank the Colour Inkspirations team for giving me the opportunity to be a Guest Designer this week.
I must say I struggled to get going with this colour palette and had everything – ink pads, Blends, Markets – the works on my desk. Eventually, I settled on a stamp set and worked up from there.
My first thought was to go a more pastel project but as you can see, I went bold. I started off with an ink blended background in Orchid Oasis and Polished Pink.
I chose the Summer Shadows stamp set which I hadn’t use in a while. It’s good to show some love to some older sets amidst all the shiny new products we’ve got!
Using my Stamparatus, I was able to ink up the floral image in different ink colours. Adding shading using a sponge dauber is so easy with the Stamparatus as it lets you repeat the process to achieve a darker colour.
Some flowers and leaves were die cut from Fancy Flora Designer Series Paper using the Summer Shadow dies. I also added a larger die cut flower from Orchid Oasis Cardstock, tying in my brighter background. For the leaves, I blended Balmy Blue and Evening Evergreen on Basic White Cardstock and die cut the larger leaves from it. This gave me a softer green to blend with my project.
To break up all the colour I added layered White circles which made the floral image stand out against the bright background.

A bit of a change from all my Christmas projects to play along with the Colour Inkspirations #CI133 challenge. As I saw this photo inspiration, part of me wanted to use my favourite bird from the Perched in a Tree stamp set but I resisted!
Instead I’ve opted for a teacup stamped in Coastal Cabana with the spaces coloured with a Light Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blend.
You can get the Tea Boutique stamps and dies on sale during our Seasonal Sale but the sale ends TODAY! Purchase them separately as it will give you a better price than purchasing as a bundle. Regular price $88, Sale Price $72.45. That’s a saving of $15.55.
I die cut the palm leaves from a piece of cardstock which I randomly stamped with some blotchy images with the Artistically Inked stamp set using Granny Apple Green and Mossy Meadow inks. Then I blended over the Cardstock with Granny Apple Green using a Blending Brush. This is a technique I use quite a lot as it gives me a variegated look on my leaves.
I used the sketch from Freshly Make Sketches #fms562 as inspiration for the layout of my card. The strips of Fresh Freesia DSP were blended over with Gorgeous Grape to deepen the colour.
A splattering with a Merry Merlot Marker adds the final colour of our palette to my card. Thank you for stopping by and for a list of products used on this card please scroll to the bottom of this post.

I’m playing along with the Colour Inkspirations Challenge CI132. With the accompanying photo, it was hard not to go along with the beachy theme.
Instead I went with what seems to be my next favourite, the bird from the Perched in a Tree stamp set. I heat embossed the image in Silver and then coloured it in with Watercolour Pencils. I used colours that were similar to the challenge for this part of my card.
With the sentiment banner I really wanted to add a bit of a floral image so I went with the Fitting Florets collection. I coloured the image with Tahitian Tide, Orchid Oasis and Old Olive Stampin’ Blends.
In this photo you can see the pretty Snowflake Vellum oval which adds a lovely soft touch behind the bird.
Thank you for stopping by and make sure to come by later when I’ll have another card for you for Day 7 of the #30DayChristmasCardMakingChallenge.
My card today has been inspired by the challenge at Colour Inkspiration CI131. This colour scheme just had a rustic feel to it (perhaps it was the vintage photo inspiration as well).
I’ve used the yet-to-be released Fitting Florets Dies to create this ornate oval frame for the candy canes. The Fitting Florets Collection will be available for purchase on 1st November. Want it straightaway? Just add it to a Starter Kit. Until 31st October you get to choose $283 of product and pay $169.
I embossed Crumb Cake Cardstock with the Brick Embossing Folder. Then I added Crumb Cake and Early Espresso ink over it using a Blending Brush. On the Early Espresso oval I splattered some Craft Ink with a Water Painter to give the effect of snow.
The candy canes were stamped in Cherry Cobbler and then I added some stripes with a Sweet Sorbet Stampin’ Blend. I really love the warmth this card exudes for Christmas.
Thank you for stopping by to see my card. I hope you have been inspired and if I can help you with placing an order please contact me on Ph: 0404 255 001 or Email: rochelle@stampingflair.com
