Today I’m playing along with the Global Design Project Challenge #gdp412 CASE the designer project. We are CASEing a card by Wilma de Korte from the the Netherlands.
To CASE means to Copy and Selectively Edit any part of the card whether it’s layout, colours, themes, stamp set. I’ve copied the layout of Wilma’s card creating a houndstooth background with the Abundant Beauty Decorative mask.
The frame was blended in Real Red and then I added Gilded Leafing with Liquid Glue dotted in sections. This was mounted using Foam Adhesive Sheets cut into thin strips.
On this I added the apples, coloured in with a variety of Stampin’ Blends and cut out using the scalpel tip from the Take Your Pick Crafters Tips. This was great to get inbetween all the leaves so that the background was visible.
The sentiment was stamped on the Delightful Floral Designer Series Paper which was also used as one of the matte layers. To stabilise the sentiment I added 3 layers of scrap cardstock under it before mounting it with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Products used to create this card are listed at the bottom of this post. You can shop online or contact me to place your order.
Have a fabulous week and if I can help you in any way, please get in touch with me.

What a beautiful colour palette I get to create with today, inspired by the colours at the Global Design Project Challenge #gdp405. I’ve featured the Nested Friends stamps and dies on this card. These products are part of our Online Exclusive products and are exclusively available in our Online Store.
I used the Simply Scored Tool and scored the Basic White Cardstock at 1cm intervals to create the background.
The bird was coloured in with Boho Blue and Wild Wheat Stampin’ Blends. Usually I would have added some lighter colours in there to blend it but as this was a colour challenge I had to find another way. So, I used a Blender Pen to add some Boho Blue ink refill to soften and blend the colour and achieved the look I was going for.
Although a Blender Pen is generally used on watercolour paper, used in small amounts, ensuring there is sufficient drying time, it works fine on Basic White Cardstock.
Frames die cut from Fresh as a Daisy Designer Series Paper bring all the colours together, while a layer cut out from the same paper pack provides a textured Boho Blue matte layer. The Brushed Metallic Dots tone in with the Pebbled Path elements of my card and it’s one of my favourite embellishments.
I hope you have loved this card and find inspiration in what I’ve shared. If you would like more inspiration, make sure you sign up for my newsletter where I share an exclusive tutorial each week along with lots of other project inspiration and tips.
Have a wonderful week.

The Emboss Resist Technique is so simple but yields such effective results. If you have not heard of this technique – you heat emboss an image and then when you add colour over it, the heat embossed image ‘resists’ the colour and the stamped image shows through while the colour is in the background.
Inspired by Susan Wong’s creation for the Global Design Project GDP404 – Case the Designer Challenge I wanted to recreate the blended circle element Susan had on her project along withe the colour palette.
I stamped the leaf image from the Inked & Tiled stamp set inVersamark and heat embossed it in White. Then I blended a range of blue inks from lightest to darkest, over the samped images. I wiped back the colour off the leaves with a tissue which brought up the white.
For the matte layer I cut apart one of the cards from the Kraft Notecards & Envelopes pack. This pack comes with 20 notecards and envelopes plus a box to assemble which you can put the cards in once you’ve created them. It’s great for gift giving.
The card had a score line in the centre so I added some additional score lines using my Simply Scored Scoring Tool.
I added some leaves in Garden Green die cut from the Meadow Dies to resemble the trees in the original image. Another leaf die cut from the Kraft notecards tied the matte layer in with the focal image. You can see another card I made some years back using the Emboss Resist technique here.
I kept the rest of the card clean with a simple White heat embossed sentiment with the ‘happy’ taken from the Ringed with Nature stamp set.
Bonus Days ends in 2 days. For every $90 you spend you will earn a $9 Bonus Days coupon. No limit to how many coupons you can earn.

When I saw that the Global Design Project #gdp403 theme this week was ‘Stripes’ I really wanted to play along with it. You can draw stripes, paint watercolour stripes, use patterned paper, make use of paper scraps and create a striped pattern, criss cross those stripes for checks… you get it – the possibilities are many.
My first thought was to use the striped paper which is available our Classic and In-Color 6″x6″ paper packs. I pulled out several colours, used none and just ended up with a big pile of stuff on my desk. I picked the lovely checked sheet from the Inked Botanicals DSP which is made up of stripes and layered it onto and embossed striped Basic White panel.
With Father’s Day in just 6 weeks I though I would combine all 3 of these challenges and chose the Trucking Along bundle to meet the TGIF Challenges #tgifc430 brief of travel. I then followed along with the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches #FMS595 which made designing the card much easier.
The truck body was coloured in Lost Lagoon, Pool Party and Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Blends. I added a tree ring in keeping with the outdoor theme I was trying to create for this Father’s Day card. I have several of these tree rings die cut and ready to be put on projects. These are kept in the folder which the dies come in and then when I need one, all I need to do is just add some colour. So for this tree ring I blended Wild Wheat, Pecan Pie and Copper Clay ink with a Blending Brush.
I added some leaves die cut again from Basic White Cardstock. These were blended with Mossy Meaadow and Copper Clay ink to give a variegated look.
I heat embossed the sentiment in Night of Navy/Clear Embossing Powder on the Fresh as a Daisy Designer Series Paper. Using your Clear Embossing Powder you can match any project with all the colours in our range.
HOW TO HEAT EMBOSS IN COLOUR
Ink up the stamp in Versamark
Immediately ink it up in desired ink colour
Stamp onto Cardstock/Designer Series Paper
Pour Clear Embossing Powder over the image
Set with Heat Tool
You have a coloured embossed image
I hope you have enjoyed this project using the cute truck which has been very popular. The Trucking Along bundle is available now in our Online Exclusives range while supplies last.

For this sketch challenge at the Global Design Project #gdp398 the Masterfully Made Designer Series Paper does the heavy lifting. I love this layout with it’s offset panels which shows off the different layers of paper.
The Masterfully Made Designer Series Paper has a beautiful torn paper textured look to it which gives the look of layers.
I added a layer of embossed cardstock and some specialty paper for added texture. Some hearts were die cut from Basic White Cardstock using the Share a Milkshake Dies and then embossed them with the Countryside Blossoms Embossing Folder. These were coloured with a Fresh Freesia Stampin’ Blend for a coordinated look.
