Happy Saturday friends, Melon Mambo, in all it’s vibrancy, is our colour of choice for the Crafty Collaborations Monochromatic Insta Hop. My goodness, Melon Mambo loves to make it’s presence felt, from inky fingers, ink on the outside of the ink pad, ink on the table – Melon Mambo everywhere 😂
As I work through these monochromatic challenges, I try to pick a stamp set that really ties in with the colour of the week. I settled on the Super Cool stamp set. The glass bottles in this stamp set remind me of my childhood in Sri Lanka, where we didn’t have a car and we got everywhere by walking or taking the bus. Some days, when we had walked a lot and we were really tired, my Dad would take us to the local bakery and buy us a special treat of a coca cola. It used to come in a bottle like this and boy was it refreshing on a hot day.
In keeping with the theme, I went with raspberry and regular cola for today’s hop. I used the masking technique to create the row of bottles with Crumb Cake and Melon Mambo inks.
MASKING TECHNIQUE
Stamp 2 cola bottles on scrap paper
Fussy cut on the line towards the inside section. This will help you when stamping, to not have gaps in the images.
Stamp the bottles which are going to be in the foreground first.
Apply Seal adhesive to the back of the scrap cola bottles. Stick it to your hand to remove the extra stickiness. This will make it temporary.
Now attach your repositionable bottles on top of the ones in the foreground and stamp the ones at the back.
Keep arranging the repositionable bottles and stamp more as needed.
I’ve used the new Fun Patterns Embossing Folder from our Online Exclusives range, on the white panel behind the bottles. The ribbon was coloured with a Light Melon Mambo Stampin’ Blend, adding a soft coordinated element to this retro card.
Have you tried the Masking Technique? You could even have some fun creating cute scenes with it. Here is a list of products I have used to create this card. Orders of $150 will also receive a free pack of embellishments when you shop with me in March.

The Crafty Collaborations Monochromatic Instahop is all about bright Parakeet Party. As this colour comes to it’s end, I’m liking it a bit more. It was not quite my favourite due to it’s brightness but I have toned it down today and I really like how it turned out.
Using the Artistic Mix Decorative Masks, I blended a light background, moving the mask around. This created a very fluid pattern.
I used the mask again to apply the Shimmery White Embossing Paste which had been coloured with the ink refill. I applied quite a lot of this as I really wanted a thicker texture to offset against my white leaf. Embossing Paste provides a quick way to get some fun textured effects.
I die cut the leaf 3 times and layered it to create some lovely depth while also making it more sturdy.
Adding a neutral Gray Granite matte layer of Cardstock added a cool tone to the card and softened the colour along with the Linen Thread bow.
Do you love Parakeet Party? Make sure to add it to your stash before it leaves our collection along with all the 2022-2024 In-Colors. Adding these products to an order during Sale-A-Bration will qualify you for a free product when your order reaches $90.

As I started creating this card for the Crafty Collaborations Monochromatic Instagram hop, I realised that I really hadn’t extensively used Orchid Oasis in it’s tenure as an In-Color. I’m glad I’ve got to spotlight it before it leaves us in a couple of months.
Every card has an idea that it starts with and for this one it was those little flowers from the Softly Sophisticated stamp set. These were stamped and fussy cut and although it took a little bit of time it was worth the effort. This stamp set is part of a bundle which is a Sale-A-Bration reward. You can get it free until 29th February with a $180 purchase.
For the background I blended ink through a mask and then stamped the words from the Quiet Meadow stamp set while the mask was in place.
Here’s how I created the splattered look behind the flowers.
FOCAL POSTAGE STAMP
Blend Orchid Oasis ink around the edges
Use a Water Painter to splatter Craft ink refill on the postage stamp, flicking the brush against the cap. The refill needs to be a little runny.
Using the Water Painter, add Craft ink around the edges of the die cut
Leave to completely dry
Stamp leaves and dots in Tuxedo Black ink
I added some ink blending on the matte layer which was embossed with the Softly Sophisticated Embossing Folder. This created depth against the card base.

Happy Saturday friends, It’s early hours of the morning when this post goes Live in Melbourne. Thank you for stopping by to check out my inspiration for our Monochromatic Instagram hop this week. Although the hop is on Instagram I like to share the details of my card on my blog.
Today we are sharing projects using my favourite In-Color in our range at the moment, Pebbled Path. It’s not brown nor is it grey. It’s just right!
I have chosen the Stippled Roses bundle to create some detail on my card with some black accents.
I started by creating the 2 even panels. To create this, I stamped the large leaf from the Stippled Roses stamp set in Versamark ink onto Pebbled Path Cardstock. This was heat embossed in Black. Then I cut the Cardstock into 2 panels which were blended around the edges with Pebbled Path ink.
A ribbon was added at the back of the 2 panels to depict the strip on the card sketch.
On the base of the card I added a layer of the Softly Stippled Designer Series Paper. This Designer Series Paper is 12″x12″ and you get 12 doubled sided sheets in each pack (2 sheets of 6 designs). You can get this paper free with a $90 order during our Sale-A-Bration promotion which runs through 29th February.
I kept this card simple and elegant with a single rose stamped in Pebbled Path. I layered the flower and leaves, fussy cutting around them. Some additional die cut leaves in Pebbled Path were interspersed to layer on the flower and the die cut sentiment.

All set with about 3/4 sheet of A4 Moody Mauve Cardstock I was ready for this challenge! I had to get creative with ink today for the Crafty Collaborations Monochromatic Insta Hop. I must say, I’ve been a bit moody with Moody Mauve. When I first saw it in the Annual Catalogue, I thought this would be my most used In-Color BUT it didn’t turn out that way. Hence the low supply of Cardstock.
As I looked through my stamp sets, the idea of a Moody Mauve wreath really appealed to me and then I had to decide whether I wanted to stamp it or die cut it out of my 3/4 sheet of A4 Cardstock! Well, I did both and actually preferred the stamped version for this card.
Now I had to decide what was going to happen with that wreath and I went with a shimmer bow – a double one. Both were die cut from Bubble Bath Shimmer Cardstock. The bottom one was coloured with the Dark Moody Mauve Stampin’ Blend.
TIP: When colouring the Shimmer Cardstock with Stampin’ Blends hold it still with the Take Your Pick Tool. When you hold it with your fingers the colour keeps rubbing off. Leave it to dry and then it will be good to go.
MOODY MAUVE HEARTS
With a Water Painter and Moody Mauve ink refill, create a wash on Fluid 100 Cardstock
Add some darker sections as well
Leave to dry
Take the Painted Lavender stamp set and using the image with stems, ink up just the bottom part of the stems with Versamark ink
Stamp several of these lines randomly across the watercoloured Cardstock
Heat emboss in Silver
Die cut with heart from Cracker & Treat Box dies
I interspersed these hearts and some others die cut from Naturally Gilded Specialty DSP to add the silver highlights. A silver bow completes my Moody Mauve creation. I hope you have enjoyed it.
