New at su Blog Hop – In-Colours 2022-2024

Hello friend, Welcome to the New at SU Blog Hop for May. Today we are sharing with you inspiration using the 2022-2024 In Colours – Sweet Sorbet, Parakeet Party, Tahitian Tide, Starry Sky and Orchid Oasis.

I’ve picked probably my 3 favourites from this set to use on my card today with the For the Record stamp set. I really love how Tahitian Tide, Parakeet Party and Sweet Sorbet blend together.

To create the multi-coloured look on the record, I used the Stamparatus and Tahitian Tide and Parakeet Party In-Colours. I coloured in the record randomly with the Markers and stamped it several times. Then I inked up the stamp with the 2 colours and spritzed the stamp and re-stamped. This gave the lovely watercolour-washed look. I added some extra definition, individually marking some of the record lines with the Markers. I just love this effect which can be achieved with our our Stampin’ Write Markers.

Some splatters of Sweet Sorbet ink were added by flicking the brush tip of the Marker against the lid. I added some music notes from the Sweet Songbirds stamp set in keeping with the music theme.

Stampers Showcase Blog Hop – Summertime Florals

Summertime Florals is our theme for this month’s Stampers Showcase Blog Hop featuring our beautiful new floral stamp sets from the new Stampin’ Up! annual catalogue.

Stampers Showcase Blog Header Hop Header Hop Header

The Artistically Inked bundle is part of a stunning suite which includes coordinating Specialty Designer Series Paper and an Ephemera Pack. I created my card with the smaller flower in this set, with a different colour palette giving it a vintage look.

Our stamp positioning tool, the Stamparatus came in very handy to stamp these flowers. I started by inking the entire flower in Blushing Bride and stamping. Then I added highlights with Flirty Flamingo and Merry Merlot Stampin’ Write Markers, stamping after each addition of colour. For the darker flowers I added Merry Merlot with a sponge dauber along with the Markers.

The leaf sprigs were die cut from Basic White cardstock and then sponged in Soft Succulent, Pear Pizzazz and Merry Merlot to give a variegated look.

The Basic White panel was stamped with leaves from the Forever Fern stamp set. Then I added some embossing paste using a mask. This week my featured product is our Decorative Masks. These are a low cost product that gives you many options for layering and adding texture to your projects.

I used the Stamparatus for the sentiment so I could re-stamp to get a nice depth of colour. Stamping it 3 times over gave me a rich colour.

Christmas Rose Thank You Card

I can’t say enough how much I love the Christmastime is Here suite. The Distinktive stamp set makes it so easy to ‘colour in’ the image of the rose. Plus the beautiful Designer Series Paper is just so elegant.

For my card today I have created a Christmas rose in soft colours.

I really love how this card turned out with the Woven Threads Designer Series Paper background and the large rose image. A Stamparatus is recommended when stamping the several colours onto this rose. I found that it made it easier. The fill in images for the leaves and sprigs are separate images and using the Stamparatus enables perfect positioning of the stamps. It also allows you to re-stamp should the image not work out first time so you don’t end up ruining the entire project.

Stampin' Up!, Christmastime is Here Suite, Woven Threads

The sentiment has been stamped in Soft Suede and layered on a border cut out from the Come to Gather Designer Series Paper with the Delicate Lace dies. Use these dies as full borders, or use them sparingly, as I have done here – they are so pretty. Added to some of that pretty linen trim, this card has a bit of a vintage feel.

Christmas Rose, Stampin' Up!, Woven Threads DSP

The Christmastime is Here suite is only available last during the Holiday Catalogue sales period, which ends on 2nd January. Not just for Christmas, it’s a year round suite.

Simplicity with Beauty Abounds Stamp Set

The Beauty Abounds stamp set and dies are a set i just received a few weeks back. I had been holding back on ordering this but when I saw it was carrying over to the new catalogue I just had to get it. I was so surprised at the amount of dies you get in this set. There are LOTS of dies and LOTS of butterflies. Yes, it does show it in the catalogue but seeing it is so different when you get it. There are 20 dies in this set.

This is the first card I created with it and I kept the layout very simple. My colour palette includes one of the new In-Colours – Seaside Spray which is a lovely soothing colour. It’s a beautiful combination with Mint Macaron.

The Stamparatus is very useful when stamping the Bokeh Dots or any other type of background stamp as it gives you an opportunity to re-stamp if necessary.  I stamped 2 pieces of the same size cardstock with the Bokeh Dots.

Create a handmade card with butterflies and the Stamparatus using Stampin Up products, Beauty Abounds Stamp Set

I used the Stamparatus again to stamp the floral spray directly over one of the pieces of cardstock with the Bokeh Dots. Then I die cut the frame and placed it over the second piece of cardstock with the Bokeh Dots and placed it on the Stamparatus. This was held together with the magnet. The floral spray was stamped over this. This ensures the frame is clearly stamped. Then it was a matter of aligning the 2 pieces so the stamped images matched. This created a cleaner stamped image than trying to stamp over 2 pieces of cardstock.

To keep the frame simple, I have stamped the sentiment in Seaside Spray in the centre. The Faced Gem has been coloured in with a Stampin’ Blend to coordinate with my card. Have you seen the new colours that have been added to our Stampin’ Blends collection? You can shop the entire collection HERE.

Step-it-Up Sunday #35 Daisy Delight

Hi friends,

Welcome to Stamping Flair and thank you for stopping by to check out today’s Step-it-Up Sunday. I am mixing the old and new today. Last year when the Daisy Delight bundle came along it fast became a favourite among many. Today I’m combining it with some new favourites from the Holiday catalogue.

You couldn’t get a much quicker card than this one. Attach the Glittered Organdy ribbon using double sided tape. This ribbon is one of those items that you could possibly miss in the Holiday catalogue. It’s on Pg 49 under the Cauldron Bubble  bundle. Now, I’m not into the Halloween theme but some of the products on this page are things I have purchased such as the ribbon, black foil sheets and baker’s boxes because individually those products appealed to me. Each page of the catalogue contains so many beautiful things so it’s good to have a check of all the bits and pieces in each suite.

Stamp the daisy twice in Tuxedo Black Memento ink and punch out. Layer together with a Stampin’ Dimensional. Add to the card base and attach a faceted gem to centre of flower.  Stamp the sentiment from Perennial Birthday in Cajun Craze, punch out and attach with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Step-up this card by adding the Buffalo Check background in Cajun Craze. I recommend using the Stamparatus positioning tool for these larger background stamps as it makes it much easier to restamp if you miss a section of the image. Colour in the daisy with Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends.

Layering the Pretty Label punch

Pretty Label Punch, Altering punches for layering

Layer the sentiment panel on Basic Black cardstock. Trim the cardstock to form the back panel as per the photo.

To make this more advanced, use the stamp from Daisy Delight to stamp little dots on the sentiment in Mint Macaron. Add a panel of Country Lane Designer Series Paper behind the ribbon.

FUXA9296_1_ (1)

Stamp 3 leaves in Mint Macaron and fussy cut. Fussy cut a can of flowers from the DSP and arrange together with the leaves and the daisy. Colour in the Faceted Gem with the Dark Cajun Craze Stampin’ Blend.

Have a wonderful week.
