Christmas Ornaments with Holly

I love this sketch challenge for Day 26 of the #30DayChristmasCardMakingChallenge. It is so open and really gives you so many ways to interpret it. I’ve used the ornaments from the Cherish the Season stamp set to create my focal image, replacing the snowflake in the sketch.

I coloured the ornaments in Just Jade Stampin’ Blends and fussy cut them out. Then I heat embossed them in Clear Embossing Powder 3 times to give them a glossy finish. The holly from the Christmas Gleaming stamp set was also fussy and layered to form the focal image for my card.

The ornaments were placed on a Wonder of the Season Memories & More card which was been layered on ‘Tis the Season Designer Series Paper.

BANNER

To create the banner at the back, I die cut a Stitched Rectangle from Magic in the Night Designer Series Paper then used the same die to create the banner effect. This created a very short banner. I extended this by cutting the banner and gluing it at the back which gives the impression that there is a full length banner.

Do you love the Mesh Ribbon as much as I do? You may have missed it in the Mini catalogue. It’s on page 53 in the bottom right hand corner. It really is a pretty ribbon and adds a lovely softness to the card. For the sentiment, I took one of my favourites, from the Christmas Gleaming stamp set. Stamping the sentiment in black balances the colour against the black card base.

Why don’t you give this sketch a try? You could even flip it on it’s side. Working with sketches is a lot of fun. You can find all the products I’ve used listed at the bottom of this post. The ‘Tis the Season DSP and Magic in this Night DSP are on sale in our October Designer Series Paper Sale. View the entire selection by clicking on the image below.

Forever Blossoms Arrow Fold Card

Hi,

I’ve got a fancy fold card to share with you today. I was asked by one of my friends to make a 30th birthday card for her daughter. I thought a fancy fold card would be a nice touch for this special occasion. The Arrow Fold Card is one I had seen but not tried and I thought I’d give it a go. surprisingly, it is a very easy fold to master.

I chose my card base colour first and then my Designer Series Paper. After this, I worked all my elements around it. The Peony Garden DSP looks so pretty against the Purple Posy cardstock.

I coloured the flowers using all the purple shades adding a touch of Dark So Saffron in the centre. The leaves were coloured in Mint Macaron and Just Jade. I added a little bit of Light Old Olive to add more shading.

To enhance the bouquet of blossoms, I added more die cut leaves and flowers. The Plush Poinsettia Specialty DSP is beautiful and I love the softness it adds to projects. I die cut my small flowers from it and then shaded them with the Dark So Saffron Stampin’ Blend which picked up the embossed section of the DSP.

The inside of the card has been kept simple with a DSP sheet that could be written over.I added the ’30’ die cut from the beautiful Velveteen Paper using the Playful Alphabet Dies. These dies are a must have in your craft room as you can make any words and numbers so they are perfect for any occasion.

To an A+ Teacher – Sunday Stamps ssc216

Hi crafty friends,

It’s coming to that time of the year when we start thinking of teacher appreciation gifts and cards. In my daytime job, I work in a school office. At Christmastime it’s such a lovely feeling when everyone exchanges gifts and all the staff pigeon holes are overflowing with cards, chocolates and other lovely surprises. This card using the Harvest Hellos would be the perfect thank you for an A+ (for Awesome) teacher.

This bundle comprises of the Harvest Hellos stamp set which includes a pumpkin as well which can be punched out with the Apple Builder punch. Purchase the bundle and you save 10% and this applies to all bundles in our catalogues. This makes a nice saving.

Teacher thank you card with apple coloured with Stampin' Blends

The apple and leaf have been stamped in Tuxedo Black ink and coloured with a combination of Stampin’ Blends. Then these were punched out and attached with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The stem has been punched out from Early Espresso cardstock.

I used the Stitched Labels dies for my sentiment and embellished the cards with the Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels which are another one of what I call, ‘hidden gems’ on Pg 58 of the Holiday Catalogue.

Ink. Stamp. Share Blog Hop – Holiday Catalogue

Hi,

Welcome to my blog Stamping Flair. I’m hopping with my friends from the  Ink, Stamp, Share Blog Hop Group. We’re displaying products from the Holiday catalogue.

My cards feature the pretty Feels Like Frost Designer Series Paper (#150444). I have used the side which has photographic imagery to decorate my cards. You can find this from Pages 41-42 of the catalogue.

The other side of this beautiful paper has hand-drawn designs with silver foil. The images are suitable for any type of occasion – not just the Christmas season.

The cardinal is from the Toile Christmas bundle (#152367) which can be found from Pages 6-9 of the catalogue. I coloured the images with a variety of Stampin’ Blends which make colouring so easy. Which colour cardinal do you like best?
