Friendship day is celebrated today and I am so very thankful for all my friends near and far, old and new. Stampin’ Up! has brought me a whole lot of new friends who I never would have met if it wasn’t for crafting. What a wonderful journey.
My card celebrates my gratitude for you, with the sentiment – I am thankful for YOU – which is from the Painted Harvest stamp set. The flower has been stamped in Stazon ink on vellum. I left this to dry. Then I turned it over and coloured it with Stampin’ Blends. This gives it a stained glass look. Then I attached the flower with the coloured side at the back. I used liquid glue along the black stamping so the glue can’t be seen through the vellum
Tip:
When applying adhesive to vellum, ensure it’s not visible at the front. Some ways to do this are:
- Apply liquid glue in very fine dots along the black line (do this sparingly). This will only work if the image has a thicker border like this flower
- Apply glue using a Stamping Sponge to the back of image. This will apply a thin layer and won’t leave visible marks on your image
- If you add another layer, eg. sentiment, on top of the vellum, apply the adhesive to the area of vellum which gets covered by the sentiment
Measurements:
- Thick Whisper White – 21 cm x 14.8 cm (scored in half)
- Basic Black – 9.9 cm x 14.2 cm
- Whisper White – 10.5 cm x 4.7 cm (for embossing) and scraps
- Shaded Spruce scraps
- DSP – 9.5 cm x 13.8 cm
- Vellum – for flower
