Love is Like a Butterfly – My Tribute to Dolly Parton

There are certain events that occur during one’s lifetime that will always stay in your memory. We might say ‘I remember what I was doing on that day’ or you may remember the company you were with. Yesterday when my daughter told me of Dolly Parton’s passing, it was a shock and the sadness that I felt seems to be a collective feeling worldwide.

As Wednesday is my usual day to do my Craft & Chat Live class, I felt it would be nice to create a card inspired by Dolly as a tribute to her.

Hot Foiling was a given because Dolly loved her bling. For my card I’ve used the Silver Opal foil which will be available for purchase, along with several other new Hot Foil products, on the 1st of September.

Watercolouring the butterfllies added a soft organic look to these butterflies. The water resists the hot foiling so it makes it really easy to colour in all the butterflies.

The Gingham Gallery Designer Series Paper adds the country feel to my card. I’ve also added some Pearlized Specialty Paper in Barely Blush for extra shine. To complete my card, I liberally added some Pearlized Faced circles because this card was about Dolly and it need extra bling!
