Caseing the Catty CTC521 – Colours of Florals in Bloom DSP

Welcome to this week’s Caseing the Catty Challenge. To CASE means to Copy and Selectively Edit a project and be inspired by it to make it your own. At the Caseing the Catty Challenge, we use our Stampin’ Up! catalogues as inspiration. Each week our crew starts the challenge off with a blog hop. For CTC521 we are Caseing the colours of the Florals in Bloom Designer Series Paper.

While this Designer Series Paper has several colours on it, I’ve chosen 5 colours to create my card with the Sunrise Sailing bundle. This bundle includes a stamp set and hybrid embossing folder which creates such gorgeous texture.

These colours were perfect to create a beautiful sunrise for the sailboat. With some ink blending, I was able to create a pretty background. The Painted Stripes stamp set was perfect to create those nautical stripes in Secret Sea.

I die cut the base sailboat from Country Woods Designer Series Paper and added sails die cut from the Floral Impressions DSP. This was added to a die cut postage frame from the Perennial Postage dies. Prior to cutting out the frame, I added a strip of White Cardstocck which had been embossed with the Sunrise Sailing hybrid embossing folder. This added the texture of waves to the frame, coordinating with the Soft Waves embossed piece on the base.

The Sunrise Sailing bundle is great for creating masculine cards or anyone who loves spending time at the beach. It creates such a calming feel. I love all the extra dies that come in the set, such as these birds, which add detail and interest to a project.
