Tied up with bows is the theme for our New at SU blog hop for December. We are here to bring some inspiration to you using our range of ribbons and other products that feature bows.
I’ve chosen the Sophisticated Sled bundle which has some bows incorporated within it’s images. I coloured the sled and the garland with Stampin’ Blends. For my bow I used Petal Pink and Cherry Cobbler to give a variation in colour.
Behind the sled I’ve added a double bow with the Cherry Cobbler & Gold Satin Ribbon and topped it with a bow tied from Gold Twisted Thread. You can’t have enough bows when it’s a bow theme!
On the base of my card I added some specialty paper strips against Basic Beige Cardstock. The paper with it’s gold detail coordinates beautifully with the gold on the ribbon. A sentiment stamped in Cherry Cobbler on Petal Pink Cardstock and some Foiled Gems complete this card.
I hope you have been inspired with this Christmas card and try some of the ideas you see here. You can order these products from my Online Store Australia wide using the supply list at the bottom of this post.

Welcome to our 500th challenge at the CASEing the Catty Challenge. What a milestone. Today we have some special guests joining us in our blog hop. Welcome to some of our past Crew members who will be sharing inspiration with us. Our theme today is basically Creator’s Choice. We could choose anything to CASE from any of our current catalogues.
We hope you join us in this special edition of the CASEing the Catty challenge and share your CASEd creations in our FB group.
I’m CASEing some of the design elements from this card which is on Page 20 of the 2024-2025 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue. This section of the catalogue features some of our Mix & Match products.
I chose my focal element of the house from the Humble Home bundle and coloured it with Stampin’ Blends. A Basic Beige label die cut using the Greetings of the Season Dies was embossed with the So Swirly Embossing folder and blended with Pecan Pie ink giving it texture and variation in colour.
Around the house I added some ephemera in keeping with the original design. I also added some die cut leaves from the Winterly Tree Tops dies which I coloured with Watercolour Pencils. Holly leaves from the Reindeer Days dies were coloured with Stampin’ Blends and placed at the base of the arrangement. Three embellishments form ‘berries’ to complete the cluster.
On the background I added a panel of Snowy Scenes Designer Series Paper. I wanted to have a pattern for this layer as the original card was printed. I played around with several patterns before finally deciding on this Pool Party snowflake sheet and was really pleased with the result.
The two stars in the card I CASEd have been replaced with the sentiment from the Reindeer Days stamp set. This was cut apart to suit my sketch. I pulled all the elements together onto a Pool Party matte layer and layered it onto a Basic Beige card base which
I have loved creating this card and putting my style to this design and hope you have been inspired by it. Please leave me a comment as you hop by to see Kathryn Mangelsdorf’s project.

Welcome to the Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop for December – our last for this year where we have had the opportunity to share creativity together. Each month our team share inspiration with different themes curated by the one who keeps it all together – Angie McKenzie – who not only does all the organising but also keeps us inspired.
Today is a technique challenge where we could choose to try a new-to-us technique or re-visit one we hadn’t tried in a while. My biggest struggle was picking the technique! I listed a bunch of techniques that I had wanted to try over many years. There was a separate list of techniques that I hadn’t done in yonks!
Finally, I decided on the Ink Drip technique which I never tried and the Googling and Pinteresting started. Now, this ain’t no clean technique – as the name suggests. Get ready to get inky fingers.
I used Fluid 100 for ink dripping and experimented with some colour palettes and variations in sizes of the drips. The one I used for this card is actually the first one I tried and includes Melon Mambo and Granny Apple Green. Odd combination, yes, because I thought I had Real Red ink refill but it was actually Melon Mambo. LOL! Not to worry, it worked fine.
I added some ink refill which was diluted with a Water Painter at the top of the piece of Cardstock then tipped the Cardstock up so the ink dripped down. I wanted a bit more on my background panel so I added some ink blending in the white space with Granny Apple Green and then some splatters with a Water Painter. The panel I created was cut in half to use on this card.
I dripped down some plain water and poured Gold embossing powder onto the water. Then I heat embossed it for the pockets of Gold that’s inbetween. It is a little bit tricky when heat embossing on theFluid 100 because the Cardstock is porous and the gold didn’t show up as much as I would have liked. So I added some other gold elements to add some extra sparkle.
A fussy cut deer from the Reindeer Days Designer Series Paper and a range of Ephemera were layered to complete this fun card.
Have you tried this technique? I’d love to know. If you haven’t, definitely give it a try. It’s easy and lots of fun and might be addictive so have lots of Watercolour Paper on hand.
Next on our hop is the wonderfully talended Cheryll Miller. I wonder what technique she is trying today? Take a look by clicking on the ‘Next Blog’ button below.

This week at our CASEing the Catty Challenge CTC499 we are Casseing a background featured in a catalogue. As I was flicking through the catalogue, looking for a project to CASE, it was no surprise at what I ended up choosing.
On page 119 of the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue you will find this card under the Watercolour Techniques section. I love watercolouring and it really was coincidence that I picked this card to CASE. What I loved about it was that checked background which was so organic.
I started by using my medium sized Water Painter and ink refills to create the lines in Shaded Spruce and Granny Apple Green. Once this background was dry, I added some ink blending and splatters. I used Paper Snips to distress the edges.
A matte Shaded Spruce layer with tone-on-tone stamping follows the background of the original card.
Next, I used Watercolour Pencils to colour in the flower pot image from the Country Flowers stamp set. I just took my time, colouring the image with just pencils (no water) and blending the colours. Some die cut flowers from the Full of Life Designer Series Paper, were added on top for a 3D effect, along with some die cut leaves.
The Starstruck Embossing Folder I’ve used on the matte layer is a Sale-A-Bration product. Our Sale-A-Bration promotion begins on 7th January. During this promotion you can earn a free product with every $100 order you place. This Embossing Folder is one of the free products you can choose if you place a $100 orrder.
I hope you have been inspired by my card today to try out some water colouring techniques. Next on our hop is Monique Fielder.

Welcome to this week’s CASEing the Catty Sunday Challenge blog hop. For CTC498 we are CASEing any project from either of the Stampin’ Up! Annual or Mini Catalogues which has an animal on it.
I am CASEing the die cut peek-through of this card on Page 43 of the Annual Catalogue which features the Christmas Friends bundle and this adorable bear.
I opted for no animals on my card and chose the Yuletide Village stamp set which is one of my Top 5 favourites from the Mini Catalogue.
I coloured the image with Stampin’ Blends and added some die cut trees, glittered with Wink of Stella, from the Frosted Forest dies for my scene.
For the plaid background I added some extra lines with the Crumb Cake Stampin’ Write Marker as an accent which coordinated with my project. The sentiment was enhanced by adding some stamping with the large snowflake stamp from the Frozen Edges bundle. To achieve a softer look, I didn’t mount the stamp onto a block. Instead, I held it in my hand and tapped the image on.
A couple of die cut Glimmer snowflakes and Drusy embellishments add extra sparkle to my festive creation.

Hello friends, Welcome to this month’s New at SU blog hop and this month we have a colour challenge. I chose the Sentimental Wishes bundle to create with as my featured product for this card.
We could use any or all of these colours for our project and I’ve gone with all! The first element I created was my focal image – the stocking. I envisioned a stocking made with velvet/suede fabric and wanted to created that textured feel using the Faux Suede technique.
To create this, I distressed a panel of Moody Mauve Cardstock and pulled it apart to form 2 sections. Then, I stamped the stocking in Moody Mauve onto the inner portion and fussy cut the centre section. To add more depth, I blended Moody Mauve ink over the creases and around the edges.
I paper pieced Moody Mauve piece onto another stocking which I stamped on Basic White Cardstock. The other parts were coloured with Stampin’ Blends. The presents were kept simple with colouring in Old Olive, Mossy Meadow and Ivory Stampin’ Blends.
I added some blended Cardstock and Glimmer paper along with a heat embossed sentiment to bring some sparkle to this Christmas card.
The sketch I have followed is from The Stamping Lounge where we have several resources and perks available as part of our membership. Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have loved my take on this colour palette. Make sure to visit all the participants to see what amazing creations they have with this one colour palette.
