Purple Posy Ink To Be Discontinued
Despite our efforts to resolve issues with Purple Posy ink, we have learned that the ink colour is still shifting over time. This means that the colour is coordinating more loosely than we typically allow with our colours. Due to these ongoing challenges, we have decided to discontinue Purple Posy classic ink. After 6 November 2019, the following items will no longer be available to purchase:
- Purple Posy Classic Stampin’ Pad (item 150084)
- Purple Posy Classic Stampin’ Ink Refill (item 150091)
- 2019–2021 In Color Classic Stampin’ Pad Assortment (item 150087)
However we have other Purple Posy items that are still available
All of Stampin’ Up!’s exclusive ink colours are run through a vigorous series of tests to get ahead of challenges like this, and to ensure colours are accurate and meet our standards of coordination. Purple Posy did pass regular testing standards in time-simulating ovens, but we have now identified that it fell short when it came to actual time passing. The colour begins to shift once the ink has rested in the ink pad for about six weeks.
It is rare for Stampin’ Up! or our ink manufacturer to have such persistent issues with ink; Purple Posy has certainly been an anomaly. We completed full testing on 11 distinct batches of Purple Posy Classic Stampin’ Ink before releasing the current version. We are now confident that no additional efforts would uphold our coordination needs over time. We appreciate your patience as we have worked through this manufacturing difficulty and regret that we are unable to share better news.

First of all, are we super excited for the new catalogue coming out? Before I had even seen the inside, it had me at the front cover! What a wonderful array of products and you are going to fall in love with everything inside as well.
In order to make way for new product, there has to be the retirement of product as well. Many of those products we love and we will miss. However, we will have awesome new products to play with.
Our oldest stamp set has retired after 18 years on the circuit. Lovely as a tree has served faithfully and is on the retirement list after being in every Annual catalogue since 2001.
I thought I’d look back at one of my older posts using this beautiful stamp set. This card uses the Reflection technique with acetate to create the reflection of the tree in the water. Click here to look back on this post which was created for my Step-it-Up Sunday segment. Click on the image above to order this beautiful stamp set and have a part of Stampin’ Up! history.
The stamp sets that are carrying over will be transitioning from Clear or Wood-Mount to Cling. So some stamp sets, although they are currently on the retirement list, are NOT retiring. They are retiring in the form of Clear and Wood-Mount. The new supplies will be in Cling form.
Please note this does not apply to Photopolymer stamp sets as they will not be converting to Cling. Photopolymer stamps on the Last Chance list are retiring.
Following is the list of carryover stamp sets which are currently in Clear/Wood-Mount. These stamp sets will be on the Last Chance items list but are not retiring.
Transition to Cling
- Stamps in the 2018-2019 annual catalogue will continue to be available in clear-mount, wood-mount or photopolymer.
- Stamp sets offered in clear-mount and wood-mount in the 2018-2019 annual catalogue that are carrying over into the new catalogue will be offered until existing inventory has depleted or until 4th June, 2019 (whichever comes first).
- Red rubber stamp sets (clear-mount or wood-mount) in the annual catalogue that will be carrying over will transition to cling with the 2019-2020 annual catalogue.
- In 2019-2020 Annual Catalogue, clear mount and wood-mount stamps will no longer be available.
