Joyful Greetings – Merriest Tags Sketch Card
Christmas in July is the perfect excuse to start building your handmade Christmas card stash before the busy festive season arrives. There’s something so satisfying about creating Christmas cards when there’s no rush, allowing you to enjoy the process and experiment with new products and techniques.
For this project, I used the NEW Merriest Tags Bundle from the July Online Exclusives collection by Stampin’ Up! The bundle is filled with festive images that are perfect for creating cards, gift tags and other holiday projects.
I’ve paired it with the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches FMS743, which provided a wonderful starting point for the layout.
The sketch inspired the layered strips of A Stitched Season Designer Series Paper, giving this card plenty of visual interest while keeping the design clean and easy to recreate. By simply changing the papers or colours, you could make several different versions using the same layout.
The stamped images have been coloured with Stampin’ Blends, adding colour and soft shading to the candy canes, holly and berries. This colour palette is rather traditional however the addition of Secret Sea gives it a modern and interesting twist. Linen Thread and one of the new Mini Christmas Buttons complete this card.
