Mar 13, 2019 | Thank You |
I’ve used the free Sale-A-Bration Lovely Lattice stamp set to create this Thank you card. I really like the framed look that can be achieved with the use of the Rectangle Stitched Framelit dies. This is such a useful tool and I find myself reaching out to use it all the time. The stitched edging gives a lovely finish to projects.
All that’s involved with this card is just basic colouring in with Stampin’ Blends. Here’s a list of the colours I’ve used.
If you haven’t given Stampin’ Blends a try, I encourage you to definitely try a couple of colours to start with. You will find it such an easy colouring system to use. With 2 shades – light and dark for each colour in the set, it is not complicated and blending is very easy. I also suggest having a Colour Lifter on hand for those slips we all tend to have. I may have mistaken a stem for a flower….That Colour Lifter is like magic. I turned red into green just like that!
The ribbon I have used was part of the Sale-A-Bration offering but due to the popularity of it, Stampin’ Up! is out of stock. Just goes to show that these products are in fact really good value and great quality. You can substitute Daffodil Delight Double Stitched Ribbon instead.
Sale-A-Bration goes through until 31st March so make the most of it and remember the Sale-A-Bration coordination items are also available until this time or while stocks last. Don’t miss out on your favourites.

Mar 11, 2019 | Baby/Kids, Challenges |
I’m participating in the Just Add Ink sketch challenge this week. I love working with sketches as it gives me a starting point but yet so many options to work with.
I chose my bunny friend from Fable Friends for this card. This time creating a newborn card and using the sentiment from the Baby Bear stamp set.
I added Soft Sea Foam to the Country Floral Embossing Folder before running through the Big Shot to create the background. I’m really loving this effect. It’s so pretty and soft. I stamped the bunny then masked off it off to stamp around it using the Artisan Textures stamp. The jacket has been coloured with Soft Sea Foam Stampin’ Blends and the bunny in Early Espresso Water Colour pencil. I used Whisper White cardstock and gently blended it in using a Blender pen.
As I didn’t have any So Saffron ribbon and felt the card needed it, I coloured the tulle ribbon with a sponge dauber. The soft look suits this baby card.
Embossing the envelope added a nice touch to create a matching look.

Mar 10, 2019 | Birthday, Fancy Fold Cards, Step-It-Up Sunday |
Hi friends,
What’s on this weekend for you? We are enjoying the labour day long weekend and not much labour being done here. Just relaxing watching movies and crafting.
I finally got the Bloom by Bloom bundle in my last order so here it is on Step-it-Up Sunday. It is a bright and cheerful suite and the Designer Paper is so colourful that I really wanted to showcase it. Check out the Advanced card where I have used a good range of this paper.
Basic
This stamp set really lends itself to the #simplestamping trend that Stampin’ Up! are promoting. I found the Stamparatus was a very useful tool when stamping with this photopolymer set. There were times I didn’t get a full image first go and with the Stamparatus I was able to restamp without wasting cardstock. Although the flower shows up quite dark in this photo, it is Calypso Coral but I think my ink pad was a bit juicy.
The edges have been punched with Detailed Trio punch and I added ribbon with double sided tape which was attached at the back of the Whisper White cardstock.
Intermediate
To create the ombrè look on this flower, I used the Stamparatus to first stamp it in Pineapple Punch. Then using a sponge dauber, I added Calypso Coral onto the stamp and restamped over the flower. I did this a few times until I achieved the desired colour. Without a Stamparatus this would be a bit tricky.
Then I fussy cut the flower and leaves and adhered with Dimensionals. A panel of Designer Paper ties all the colours together.
Advanced
A Joy Fold is used to step this card up. This is a really great fancy fold for using up your stash of patterned paper and showcasing it and what a fun card for someone to receive. You have lots of room to write inside as well.
I added a bow to this card using a glue dot. The satin ribbon which is part of this suite really drapes well and makes it easy to tie a bow.
Sale-A-Bration has a few weeks left so make sure you don’t miss out on these fabulous products. Also this month we have the Sale-A-Bration Coordination products. All these are available until March 31st or while stocks last. So if you like something make sure you get it while it’s still there.
Drop by tomorrow when I will be posting the dimensions for this card. Don’t want to miss out on any of my posts? Make sure you Subscribe to my Blog and you will receive an email when there’s a new post.

Mar 9, 2019 | Special Occasions |
I’m participating for the first time in the Stamp, Ink, Paper challenge. I couldn’t go past the Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper for this card featuring this cute squirrel from the Fable Friends stamp set. For me, this is the cutest stamp set in the Occasions Catalogue.
I have made my card just a little bit smaller to work in with the Rectangle Stitched Framelits dies. The card base is 10.5cm x 13.8cm whereas usually it would be 10.5cm x 14.8cm.
The squirrel has been stamped in Tuxedo Black ink and coloured with Stampin’ Blends. The grass was added with Soft Sea Foam ink.
I picked up on the daisy the squirrel was holding and decided to pull out the old favourite Daisy punch. In our previous Annual Catalogue, this bundle was a firm favourite but I’ve not used it much lately. So, what better way to use it than to celebrate a bright and cheerful Easter.
I stamped 3 daisies on Daffodil Delight cardstock. Then I added some highlights with the Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blend. The petals were curled using a bone folder to add extra dimension. Offset the daisies when assembling them for a fuller look.
As I had run out of large Clear Faceted Gems, I was forced to use a Gold one in the centre. This blended in too much with the flower and didn’t stand out at all. So I added more depth to it by colouring it in with the Dark Calypso Coral Stampin’ Blend. This matched well with the daisy in the stamp.
The Easter sentiment has been heat embossed with White embossing powder.
Ok, it’s not a bunny but it’s cute and I think it still works. Make sure you check out all the checks and stripes on the Stamps, Ink, Paper blog for more inspiration.
