Happy Sunday friends! Colour Palette #20 gave me a mediterranean feel and I waned to create a card with the look and textures that would encompass that theme.
The Earthen Elegance bundle made me think of markets. Perhaps it was something to do with me watching a production of Aladdin Jr. this past week, which my daughter Cassidy Stage Managed at her former school. I still have the songs, the detailed sets, the vibrant colours fresh in my memory.
The background panel was die cut with the largest Nested Essentials Dies, which I extended to form a larger die cut. Then I blended Cajun Craze ink using a Blending Brush so the panel was darker on one side fading to white.
Using the larger label shape from the Artistic Mix Decorative Mask I blended Cajun Craze and Wild Wheat over the die cut panel. This created an unusual abstract pattern.
I created a variety of leaves to add depth, texture and interest to the card. The fern was die cut from Fresh as a Daisy Designer Series Paper and blended with Cajun Craze ink. I use this technique often as I like the texture that is already provided in the DSP. The smaller leaves were die cut from Basic White Cardstock using the Gorgeously Made dies and coloured with Lost Lagoon ink. This felt a bit stark so I sponged in some Cajun Craze to tone it in with the rest of the card.
Another set of leaves die cut from Distressed Gold Paper adds just a touch of opulence into this card. This works really well with Wild Wheat which has a gold tone to it (check out the image below).
When there is a lot of pattern and colours, a black sentiment panel brings it all together with a heat embossed sentiment.

Hello and welcome to this month’s New at SU blog hop where it’s all about the new Stampin’ Up! colours. We have a beautiful new range to play with including the 2023-2025 In-Colors and the new core colours from the colour refresh.
I’ve picked my favourite new In-Color, Pebbled Path, as my base and have added a couple of more In-Colors, Moody Mauve and Wild Wheat and a new core colour, Bubble Bath.
I generally start with one product and then work around it. For this project I chose the Earthen Textures bundle and began with an embossed piece of Basic White Cardstock using one of the detailed dies in the bundle. I then stamped over it with the script from the Gorgeously Made stamp set in Bubble Bath which created a fun background.
The vase was stamped in Pebbled Path on Basic White Cardsttock. Then I blended Wild Wheat over it, adding some detail with the Wild Wheat Stampin’ Blends.
I’ve used a small strip of the new White Center Specialty Paper which I’ve coloured with the Moody Mauve Stampin’ Blends to coordinate with the leaves. What’s special about this cardstock is that when you rip it the core is white. This differs to our regular cardstock which is dyed right through with colour.
I’ve used the sketch at TGIF Challenges as inspiration for this card.
As my chosen colour was Pebbled Path, I really wanted to highlight it. I added a Nested Essentials die cut from the Fresh as a Daisy Designer Series Paper and a small strip of Earthen Elegance Designer Series Paper which added a nice textured look. Some masking and layers of Pebbled Path Cardstock really show how pretty this colour is. I love it! Can you tell?

Welcome to Technique Tuesday Blog Hop where we are sharing Masking Techniques with you. Don’t get confused by the title of this blog hop, it is indeed early hours of Wednesday morning in Melbourne!
There are so many Masking Techniques and I’m sure you are going to see a lovely variety through our hop today. I’ve chosen to use our Artistic Decorative Masks for my project. Masks (or stencils) are a great way to add depth without adding bulk to a project.
To create this background, I ink blended a Basic White Cardstock panel with Flirty Flamingo, Parakeet Party and Balmy Blue. Then I laid the mask over and reapplied the same colours through the mask which created this fun background.
This is a bit of a ‘twist’ for a Valentine’s Day card which you could make for next week using the Nothing’s Better Than stamp set. Take your pick of Cocktails, Cookies or Chocolates and add the coordinating images for a cute card.
I die cut the word ‘cocktails’ 3 times from White Cardstock gluing them all together. Then I die cut another from Black Cardstock gluing it slightly offset to form a shadow effect.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today. I hope this gives you inspiration for creating with Masks. Please follow the hop through for more fun ideas.

Two days in a row and I’ve reached for the retired stash. This time it’s the coordinating dies for theTrees for Sale stamp set which was a Sale-A-Bration product. You know I have never used this lights image before? Great to be giving life to these stamps for the #30DayChristmasCardMakingChallenge.
The Christmas Lights stamp set which is currently on the Last Chance list would be great for this theme as well (except I don’t have it). The coordinating dies are on sale so you could get this at a really great price.
I stamped the image several times and die cut it then added it to a tag. I die cut this from Shimmery White Cardstock painted with a wash of Polished Pink. Then I added a blending of Craft Ink over for a look of ‘light’ and added Polished Pink through a mask for extra detail.
This card is simple in design yet filled with little interesting details for the recipient to look over and enjoy.
Our Last Chance sale is on right now and there are lots of bargains to be had in there as well as on our Clearance Rack. Check out the Specials here. Products are available while supplies last so don’t miss out on these super specials.
