Hello and welcome to the Around the World on Wednesday blog hop for November. On the 2nd Wednesday of each month, a group of us from various parts of the world share creative inspiration using Stampin’ Up! products. We are given fun themes to work with by our lovely leader, Angie Mckenzie. Our theme today is Fall in Paris and we had some photo inspiration.
I chose to go with fall or autum colours. In Melbourne, we are right in spring and today’s weather is really showing us what spring is like – sunshine, then rain, wind and thunder!
I coloured the daisies in autumn colours using two-step stamp and ink blending. There are 3 layers of the flowers which have been glued together to create the fullness of the arrangement along with some leaves.
The flowers have been placed on a diagonally cut panel which has been embossed with the Fall Leaf 3D Embossing Folder. I added a gingham ribbon as a contrast in texture. I love how it looks with just about everything and it didn’t disappoint with these diasies!
Video tutorial for this card is available below.

Ah, Gingham – I just couldn’t resist the challenge over at Just Add Ink Challenges. It’s a Choose Two challenge from Flowers, Ginham and splatters but I picked them all. I’ve used the colours from TGIF Challenges as inspiration for this project.
The first element I created for this card was the gingham background using the Artistic Mix Decorative Masks. I blended Coastal Cabana and Lost Lagoon over the mask. When I create a background I generally create it on a quarter sheet of A4 Cardstock then cut it down to whatever size I need it. Any spare can be used to decorate the inside of your card and envelope or or another project.
I added some extra lines within the checks with a Coastal Cabana and Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Write Marker. This month the Stampin’ Up! Creative Challege is to use Stampin’ Write Markers in a creative way. Our Markers are water based and there are many techniques and fun to be had with them. Join in the challenge and check out the inspiration at #creativechallengesu
I trimmed the gingham background and die cut the top with the Deckled Rectangles dies for a decorative border. Then I added a little strip of White Cardstock which was embossed with the Splatters (Stripes & Splatters) Embossing Folder. I inked up the Embossing Folder with Coastal Cabana and then ran it through my Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. This filled in the colour in the gaps.
The daisies and leaves were die cut from Fluid 100 Carsdtock and watercoloured using ink refills. At first, I wanted to create some soft coloured daises but then went for the bolder colours and really loved the contrast. These daisies almost have a tie-dye look to them.
A White heat embossed sentiment die cut with the label from the Cheerful Daisies dies really pops against the pretty summery colours of this card.
If you live in Australia, you can order these products in my Online Store or contact me to place an order. I hope you have been inspired with what I have shared and try out this fun technique using Stampin’ Write Markers.

For Colour Palette #17 I didn’t just go with the colours I was also inspired by the photo. What else ccould I use but the Cheerful Daisies bundle? There is an entire suite in our catalogue devoted to daisies. I’ve created some pretty Bubble Bath daisies for my card. I’ve been on a bit of a Bubble Bath daisies run. Check out my last card here.
Bubble Bath is a new addition to our colour range. My first impressions was ‘meh’ as I saw it in the catalogue. It’s a whole different story playing with it and I just love it. Sometimes you need to see the cardstock, paper, ink and work with it to really see what it’s like. Bubble Bath does not disappoint this lover of all thinks soft pink.
The dies and stamps coordinate in a variety of ways so you can create daisies with 1, 2 or 3 layers. I’ve used 2 layers of daises for this card. A beautiful embossed background on white makes this daisies pop.
Until 31st July when you spend $90 you will earn you a $9 Bonus Days coupon. So, ordering the Cheerful Daisies bundle will automatically qualify you for one. There’s no limit to how many coupons you can earn so shop now and redeem them in August.

This month the Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop team are CASEing a team member. What does it mean to CASE? There are a couple of variations that are around in the cardmaking world. Copy and Share Everything or Copy and Selectively Edit. CASEing can be a direct copy of a project or you can take the idea and change it up to your style. It provides inspiration and ideas and can be handy if you’re really stuck in a rut with creativity.
For me, this is a favourite challenge we do each year with our AWOW team. Our team is made up of such talented members and I love that there is so much inspiration we can gain and much to be learned from each other. It was very exciting watching Angie Mckenzie, who is our leader, do her Facebook Live. There’s always much anticipation each year as to what twist and spin Angie has up her sleeve and of course, who she is going to pair you up with. There’s a lot of planning and thoughtfulness which goes into this.
What I love about our AWOW CASE a team member hops is that Angie encourages us to get to know each other. This is not just another ‘hop’. We form friendships and bonds and care for each other beyond the Stampin’ Up! world because we are able to take time to find out more about the person behind the stamping.
I was paired up with Sharon Burkert from As the Ink Dries. Through the magic of Zoom, Sharon and I were able to find a decent time that worked between Chicago and Melbourne and catch up. We chatted for an hour, learning about each other and it was so good to actually see each other LIVE! This was so exciting for me and I loved this experience. So after chatting about craft rooms, stamping, family and other things we set on the task at hand.
THE BRIEF
CASE a team member – We could pick any team member but we couldn’t let the rest of the team know. Top secret!
TAG – It’s a collaboration tag team. Our projects had to coordinate with each other in some way
MUST HAVE – We had to have ONE colour in common
So how did we go? Sharon suggested we CASE Angie McKenzie from Nature’s Inkspirations and of course I thought this was such a brilliant idea. Angie is the brains behind this blog hop and puts in so much effort each month to ensure all the admin side is organised. It’s hard work keeping a bunch of women under control! She comes up with these amazing themes to keep us inspired and creating and she does all this with grace and kindness. To top it all off she is such a beautiful lady and a special friend.
So, for the Tag part we used a layout from one of Angie’s gorgeous cards. Click here to see how Angie created her card.
Sharon and I both love Lemon Lolly and chose that as our common colour to feature. I can’t wait to see what Sharon has created with this layout.
I flipped Angie’s layout to work with a landscape card as I really wanted to use the Rays of Light stamp set. That’s the beauty of CASEing. You can take inspiration and make it your own. I cut down this panel to fit the die cut Radiating Stitches Rectangle which I blended with Lemon Lolly ink. I trimmed the card base on the 14.8 cm side about 1 cm to have an even edge around the frame.
On the circle I heat embossed a white sentiment which was the focal point of the card. I added a cloud border to depict Angie’s notebook edge and replaced the linen thread with gold trim.
As much as I love the Gorgeously Made bundle which Angie has used on her card I tried to be different and chose the Cheerful Daisies bundle as I know Angie loves her some daisies (check out our blog hop header). These were heat embossed in white on Basic White Cardstock then coloured with Bubble Bath and Moody Mauve Stampin’ Blends.
Next on our hop is the talented Cheryll Miller who will have something amazing to share with you. I hope you will be inspired as you hop through with us and take a look at everyone’s creations. Please leave a comment as you go through as we love hearing from you and perhaps you will CASE one of our designs.. I’m excited to find out who everyone is CASEing!
