AWOW Blog Hop – Sketch 104
Hello and welcome to our Around the World on Wednesday blog hop for October. I’m so glad you’re here, visiting me in a little coastal town in Melbourne. Perhaps you’re en-route from my friend Leonie’s blog where I’m sure you would have been treated to something beautiful. Make sure you travel around the world with us and check out the beautiful inspiration in store for you.

Today we have a sketch challenge with 2 variations to choose from. One with a bow and one without. To bow or “knot” to bow? Is that even a question? The ladies in my classes have been known to have a bit of a laugh at me if I don’t put a bow on a card because that’s just not normal for me. So, of course I went with the bow option!

Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop, Awow Blog Hop, 2023 October, Winter Meadow Designer Series Paper, Christmas Classics bundle, Card sketch, card layout, Alternate Christmas colours, #creativechallengesu

I started this card with those large holly leaves which I die cut from Fluid 100 paper. Then I watercoloured them with Lemon Lime Twist, Lost Lagoon and Pretty Peacock ink refills taking care to dry inbetween application of each colour. At this point I wasn’t sure where I was going with this card! Sometimes I’ve just got to start and then inspiration comes along. Does this happen to you?
Then I fussy the berries and leaves from the Winter Meadow Designer Series Paper. This is my favourite DSP in the Mini catalogue. I just love the colours and watercoloured images.

To incorporate this into the sketch, added die cut squares from the Snowflake Magic Specialty DSP. A layered sentiment and the defining silver bow complete the card.

Watch the video below for all the details on how to create this card. Thank you for stopping by and enjoy your trip around the world with us.
