For Day 2 of the #30daychristmascardmakingchallenge our theme is Frosty Air. With Nostalgic November I’m using my retired stamp sets and as I saw this theme I visualised the beautiful Cambridge Carols stamp set. I love this old fashioned images and am a bit partial to purchasing all of them … and holding onto them. Funny thing – I hadn’t inked this set up! I looked up when this set was released (and retired) – 2018. I couldn’t believe that I’ve had this for 5 years and not used it.
This skaters on the ice made me think of cold frosty air and that’s why I went with this image. I chose the colour palette from Sunday Stamps Challenge. These colours do have a more autumn tone to it but I chose to use those colours to bring some warmth to this cold wintry day depicted on the card.
Using a range of ink refills and Watercolour Pencils I coloured the scene which was stamped on Fluid 100 Watercolour Paper using Blender Pens (#102845) and Water Painters (#151298).
I added some neutral Designer Series Paper in the background with a pop of sparkly sptrips for the stamped image to be mounted on.
Apart from the stamp set, other products are available in my Online Store. You could substitute the scene with a number of other stamps including Regal Reindeer #159722 or Graceful Deer #162084.
I hope this inspires you to try some watercolouring or maybe pull out a stamp set you have never inked up!
