Gallery Blooms Birthday Card for Color Throwdown CTD835
I’m thrilled to have been invited to participated this week in the Color Throwdown Challenge as their Featured Artist. For this vibrant colour palette, I reached for the Gallery Blooms bundle.
While this bundle is part of a more vintage suite, I wanted to take the floral image in a different direction by using the more vibrant colours from this colour palette. It’s always fun to explore a product beyond its original styling.
The flora image was coloured in a combination of Stampin’ Blends. Bright blue flowers are quite out of the ordinary for me but I love how they turned out!
Blue and yellow make such a beautiful and cheerful pairing, and I couldn’t resist using the gingham sheet from the Floral Delight Designer Series Paper. I have a soft spot for a good check pattern, and this one worked perfectly layered against the leafy background design. It’s a fresh, fun combination that adds just the right touch of charm to the project.
I added a little bit of a feature on the right of the sentiment panel by pleating a small strip of the Floral Delight Designer Series Paper and adding it to a piece of cardstock embossed with the Mini Corrugated Embossing Folder and blended with Azure Afternoon ink.
