Hi, Welcome to our first Stamp ‘n Hop for 2022. We are mixing old with new and with a new Stampin’ Up! Mini Catalogue just launched on the 4th, it was easy to pick something new.
I have been enjoying creating the Amazing Silhouettes stamp set. I had been wanting to try heat embossing with this stamp set for some time. I love the reversed stamping effect.
For the first card I masked off the bottom half of the card and stamped the butterfly image over the top in Versamark. Then I heat embossed in White. Using a sponge dauber, I added Just Jade to the centres of the butterflies and then Mint Macaron. The heat embossing resists the colour and then you get beautifully colour butterfly images.
The Stamparatus was essential in getting sentiment stamped as I was able to go over it a few times to achieve a nice crisp image.
I used the same technique to stamp the tree and sponged with Misty Moonlight closer to the tree and then Coastal Cabana outwards.
The sentiment was stamped in Tuxedo Black and embossed in Clear Embossing Powder which made it stand out against the sponged background.
Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have been inspired to try this technique. Please click on the next button to view Annette Ball’s lovely project.
