New at SU Blog Hop – Beautiful Backgrounds
Hello and welcome to our New at SU blog hop for March. We are sharing a range of beautiful backgrounds with you today so make sure you visit all the team’s blogs to see the projects they have created. Lately I have been using the Mini Corrugated Embossing Folder – a lot! I love it. So I figured it would be featured for my background today.

This embossing folder is beautiful used as is but I thought I’d treat the background to create a true corrugated look.

HOW TO CREATE THE CORRUGATED LOOK
- Blend Pool Party ink over the entire piece of Basic White Cardstock using a Blending Brush
- Take the Balmy Blue ink pad and run it directly down the Cardstock – I went in the opposite direction to the way I was going to emboss
- Then emboss the piece with the Mini Corrugated Embossing Folder
- Re-apply the Balmy Blue in the same way – using Direct to Paper technique
- Apply Pecan Pie and Copper Clay in sections the same way
- Blend Balmy Blue, Pecan Pie and Copper Clay over other areas to achieve the look you like
- Once the ink has dried, apply Versamark ink directly onto the Cardstock, concentrating on the edges.
- Heat emboss with Clear Embossing Powder

Some Ephemera worked in perfectly with my background. The branch has been extended by cutting it in half. I die cut a card from the Calming Creek Note Cards & Envelopes to place behind the bird’s nest. The softness of the Pool Party lifts the focal image against my rustic background.

Thank you for visiting me and I hope you have been inspired to give this technique a try and perhaps even try it out with different colour combinations.
Enjoy the inspiration from the rest of the team below.
