Peace and Joy Sketch Card- 30 Day Christmas Cardmaking Challenge
This card for the #30DayChristmasCardmakingChallenge was a ‘bitsa’ card – it was made from bits I had already made up in my stash. The only fresh element I made up was the image of the bird and the sentiment which were from the So Very Merry stamp.

This is such a great sketch and I had some fun adding elements from my spare parts to create it.
The houndstooth background was created using the Foursquare Decorative Masks and then I shifted it slightly to get a shadow effect. I had a day where I just went through creating a bunch of backgrounds using our masks and this one was perfect for this card.

I coloured the sentiment panel with Old Olive Stampin’ Blends instead of stamping on Old Olive Cardstock. This is a technique I like to use as it provides a softer background which I like on some projects.

The wreath was stamped and die cut and then layered on 3 layers of a the same wreath die cut from Old Olive Cardstock. The coloured Cardstock underneath provided depth and shadow. It also made the wreath nice and stable and I didn’t require Stampin’ Dimensionals to prop it up.
