12 Days of Christmas 2025 – Day 2 Through the Eyes of a Child

For Day 2 of The Stamping Lounge 12 Days of Christmas challenge, we are looking at Christmas through the eyes of a child. In particular, being inspired by a memory from childhood.

My earliest childhood memories are centred on our family placing importance on the birth of Christ who is the Reason for the Season. Christmas was all about the singing of carols, attending many carol services, hearing the Bible story of Mary and Joseph, the shepherds and wisemen and going to church on Christmas morn. Don’t get me wrong, we had all the excitement of giving and receiving of presents, shopping, decorating and eating lots of festive food but as I saw today’s theme, my mind reflected to the Bible story.

I watercoloured the image with ink refills die cut around it to create a circular frame which draws the eye to the focal image. The Timeless Plaid Designer Series Paper was perfect for this simple scene. I added a few copper accents with embellishments and some heat embossed elements which added a metallic accent toning in with the rest of the card.

  1. That is such a beautiful story Rochelle. I grew up with the same. Your card does justice to the story of Mary and Joseph AND you gave them faces!!!
