Caseing the Catty Challenge CTC583 – Bundle

Welcome to the Caseing the Catty Challenge CTC583. This week we are Caseing a project from the Stampin’ Up! May-August cataloue that features a bundle.

I really love the background stamping on the sample card with the repeated pattern. So I incorporated a strip with a label stamped at an angle in a similar way. The stripes on the Everyday Essentials Mix & Match Designer Series Paper mimic the stripes on the background stamp.

I added an embossed background using the Rustic Check embossing folder from the September-December catalogue which follows the overall square background design in the original card.

For the focal image I’ve used the Butterfly Flight bundle which has some coordinating Hot Foil dies as well. However, for this card I wanted a softer look and opted for the masks without the hot foiling and really loved how this turned out. The butterfly was masked with Balmy Blue and Lost Lagoon ink.

I blended Old Olive and Peaceful Pine ink onto Basic White Cardstock, spritzing it with water. Then I stamped the criss cross border image from the Bordered in Beauty stamp set in Old Olive onto it. From this, I die cut some leaves. Prepping your cardstock this way gives added texture and interest.

A butterfly border, inspired by the borders on the original card, ties in nicely with the larger butterfly. Linen Thread and some Pretty Peacock Dots add the finishing touches.
